This is the answer to the question: What happens when 2 idiots make way too much "chili"? Also, chili should never have mushrooms. This looks horrible.
+Joshua Maxwell He obviously was talking about the heat from the peppers... He said that he only use one jalapeno because he can't handle the heat, but if you want it hot you should use two jalapenos and if you are serving it to kids you shouldn't use any jalapenos. If the difference of a jalapeno makes it so that it's either too hot or mild enough for kids then it really can't be hot at all. Jalapenos are not even hot..
Just an update. I made this Chile today. I had some family over to help eat it. I froze the leftovers for later. The Chile was excellent. The only changes from the recipe were, a little less mushrooms, I added them at the first, but didn't add the second half. And just other things I did a bit different, mostly cooking techniques. But for the most part it was certainly good.
Fantastic looking recipe!!!! Looks like I will be saving to make this chili soon! Thanks for posting this, entertained/hungry/inspired all in the same shot!!
Thought you were adding like steak for meat to make it 100$. Not making 4 batches of chili in the same pot at once. It looks pretty good though

Its not 100$ chili its 100% WORTH of chili. Quantity over quality with this one. Although Jack's guest should definitely have a show before Jack does lol
Chili con carne means chili with beef in english... Since all of our chili has beef in it we just call it chili because we already know it contains beef. Welcome to the english language
Your videos are great dude... I live in KY for a long time now in Santa Barbara "805" ;p .. Gotta love what your doing. Making chili as I type this in behalf of your love of food... Thanks.
Fry your onions and peppers off first with your chilli powder; You'll get no flavour out of them if you just dump them in like this. And brown your meat for longer! Also, not American but I'm pretty sure beans and red wine don't belong in chilli.
+Bobble86 Yeah as an American I don't consider this as a traditional Chili. I just brown off the meat and put the meat into a bigger pot. I don't add pepper or onions. I just do onion powder and chili powder. Kidney beans and black beans and simmer it together. If I am lazy I go and use the crock pot.
+Bobble86 Yea, not really sure what that is but it ain't chile. there are some chilies that have beans but real Texas chili has no beans and certainly no wine or tomato's of any kind. WTF with the mushrooms? I think this is kind of a Chicago style spaghetti sauce or something.
VirtualLife I do both. It just depends on what I have planned. I mostly use lean beef. Sometimes I have to help Mom and Dad. Or they gone I have to run their store. I tend to use nonstick more than metal pans. Thanks for the tips.

Well that look great. I also use sausage and ground meat in my chili. Like John I not only drain my meat but also press it in the cullender to get all the grease out. There are some interesting combination John has there I will have to try. Thanks for the video.

also the title implies that this is a high quality recipe, when in reality its just 100$ worth of cans, fancy stuff.
I like mushrooms as much as the next guy but idk about in my chilli
This dude should make more appearance on the show. I like him.
Lol no, he barely explained anything.
He obviously just made him eat his food
It doesn't count as a "$100 chilli" just because you're buying more ingredients.
