Great video! I have a set of the Rox hand guards for my 2022 xcr 850 that’s on it’s way. I love these hand guards and I agree I think they are the best out there. I have them on my wife’s 2019 zr 6000 limited with mid shield but I had to adjust the handlebars a bit, which she is ok with because she doesn’t like them up totally straight. I’m excited to put these on my new xcr! Actually I’m even more excited after seeing this video. Thanks as usual Jesse! You’re the man!
Handlebar risers should not be straight up and down so i am with your wife. They are supposed to be at the same angle as the steering post. This give you the best control and rider input into the sled! Either way ROX is 100% the best option for handguards!
Thanks Cory and yes they come with the same one as the XCR's but i ran a smaller riser then factory VR1 last year and had the same outcome. I like my bars LOW. As should everyone else!!!
if you go back and watch my video from last year i run a smaller riser then factory (as everyone should) and had the same outcome. I will also be running that same riser this year. But yes drastic riser height change will change this
@@JESSEJAMES322 I can't stand the bars around my knees. Being 6 foot 4. My last sled had 8inch riser on it. I like to stand up and ride sometimes when the trails get bumpy.
Man you guys are on it been wondering what combo I’m going with this year ordered the Mid and have my Rox hand-guards I will use just need to get new mounts for Matryx looks like you can get the mounts seperate. Good to know to if you wanted to get different covers. Did you say you were still cold at times with mid shield and rox handguards? What gloves do you normally wear if not running gauntlets ? Our XCRS getting close!?
Glad this answers all the questions!! if im on long straght trails i get a bit chilly but otherwise im good because im working and moving. I do run gauntlets 100% of the time along with the hand gaurds. I dont want my hands seeing ANY type of wind hahahah. They are definitely getting closer!
thats because the riser keeps them above the windshield. But factor riser or lower like I run they will come in contact. can I ask why you need such a tall riser?
believe it or not a smaller riser gives you better control of the sled. much better rider input and more feedback to you. i know its a comfort thing but the smaller the better handling
@@JESSEJAMES322 No Handguards, I'm talking about the pad in the center of the bars, over the top of the riser, since the matryx has nothing but the aluminum riser.
But i need to know if it has polaris hand guards because if it does where they mount interfears with the pad. I run Rox hand guards and a large RSI Racing/ Fly Racing pad
@@JESSEJAMES322 No hand guards, I'm talking stock handlebar riser on a Matryx like it would come from the factory, and the Racer 600R pad that comes from the factory. Would to 600r pad directly fit onto the Matryx stock factory bar riser? Thanks for looking into this!
I ran (and will be running this year) a 2 inch riser and it’s the same results. The taller the riser the more clearance you have. 99.9% of people (unfortunately) put a taller riser so we figured factory height risers were the best option to review

thats unfortunate. i have many trouble free miles on these. have been left stranded on a skidoo many times so it goes both ways. some things happen. dont need to comment some ridiculous comment on every video.
@@JESSEJAMES322 nope i have seen ski-doos with way more miles then i have seen on polaris 26,500+ miles on a 2008 ski-doo gran touring 550 an 30,000+ miles on a 2010 ski-doo 600 mxz tnt 18,000+ on a 2016 ski-doo 600 ace an i have never seen 1 polaris last over 10k miles all junk youll end up selling your polaris b4 it even gets close to 10k miles if itll even make it there

Haters going to hate. They all break eventually even with proper maintenance shit happens. My Sierra is getting a starter now as I type this lol
so polaris handgaurds rub on a polaris windshield? oh fail polaris. thats sad!!!! and they have the balls to charge $33000 for a vr1 boost with crap like this. soooo sad!!!!
they actually do not offer the windshield when you order handgaurds. they believe if you had a mid height windshield that you dont need handguards. BUT for people that want both yes they hit at full lock which you NEVER run full lock when riding
That was a lot of good information. Glad to see all the difference between everything. Thanks again.
Anytime Doug!! Glad you're still here following along!
What a Beautiful Sled that Red and Black. Awesome Video Jesse!! It can snow any time now. I'll be coming up from Pennsylvania!!
It is a good looking sled for sure! We are all waiting for snow (and sleds)!!
Great vid as always. If you add a 6 inch riser they dont even touch the windsheild at all.
Thank you! 6 inch is very tall on these sleds.. i run a smaller then stock riser as its better for control of the sled
Well that definitely answered my question lol thanks yet again. Enjoy and learning from your content, appreciate it 🙏.
Glad it answered them all and appreciate you following along!
Thanks for the great info , not sure if we can get the other hand guards here in Canada, still waiting for my VR1 to come in .
Really love the ROX. Try to order some! We are all waiting on sleds unfortunately

Yeah same here. I always bring them down was just worried they still wouldn’t work with my new sled.
nope youll be all set. These sleds had the risers set properly!
Great video great to see how all the windshields go on and clearance. I think the cross country may come with taller bar riser then vr1
Thanks Cory and yes they come with the same one as the XCR's but i ran a smaller riser then factory VR1 last year and had the same outcome. I like my bars LOW. As should everyone else!!!

Will do Paul! Thanks for following!
Thanks for this video. Help finalize my choice in getting hand guards or not. Got my Rox guards in 2 days. Just something to help my finger tips.
There ya go! They are the best quality in the industry that's for sure!
With the rox hand guards do those have the regular mounts or the extended mounts
these are the hayes mounts
To run the pro tec hand gaurds what mounts do you need to run on the xcr the Hayes brake mount kit?
yes the Hayes is what is needed!
And then change risers or adjust the bar and it all changes also
if you go back and watch my video from last year i run a smaller riser then factory (as everyone should) and had the same outcome. I will also be running that same riser this year. But yes drastic riser height change will change this
I put a medium windshield on my new backcountry. With a set of 6inch bar risers still running handgrauds still have tons of room.
im sure you do. you know smaller risers give you a better handling sled though?

Love It!! And so will you!!
The low windshield I ordered finally came in and fits without hitting withe polaris handgaurds.
Correct but we didnt have that to show. We just tested it this weekend!
Too bad you didn't have the RMK mid windshield. Great info thanks!
back ordered so we had no option unfortunately ! Thank you!
I just installed one on my assault, no contact with the rox guards.
Off topic . But curious who's clutch kit you use 🤔.

Hi do you know what the paint match for silver would be I want to paint my windshield bezel silver to match the silver on my 21 assault.
I do not but Bruce Jr would. Give the shop a shout and ask him. hell get you anything you need!
