one thing to add to this the A-50 will only support Russian jets with datalink (i think it will provide BRA calls for all coalitions) but the E-3A can support datalink + BRA calls for all coalitions so best thing is unless you want it to be realistic is just add an E-3A to both sides and it will just work i am curious if the AWACS preforms better with a race track orbit (mostly level flight) instead of a circular orbit (plane being tilted)?
@@DCSChopsticks the E3 works for all i think it's because both flankers are FC3 plans so they accept the datalink from whichever AWACS please do not add 2 AWACS to a mission... this will make radio coms a hellish time for FC3 players as they will hear both AWACS with a slight delay saying the same thing

My mission AWACS is continually making announcements blanking out pretty much every thing else. How does one control this soit makes periodic announcement, responds to requests rather than continually ‘rabbiting on’???
It's been a while, but I think in the advanced waypoint options there is one called "no report waypoint pass" or similar. That will shut it up telling you where it is and what alt etc without you contacting it.
It will default to whatever is in the radio box on the editor. If you are flying and have easy comms on then it will auto tune. If easy comms are off you will have to tune your radio and use the right radio comm button. Usually right alt and forward slash for radio 1.

Yeah, although you used to have to have both as flanker DL wouldn't work on the E3. I still put in both just to make sure these days.

My AWACS wont give data link cant see anything on radar is it because of the range?
Its usually either range, no line of sight/ altitude too low.
