I just found your channel while searching for videos on Perch fishing - I really enjoy the calm, down-to-earth way that you do your videos, it’s relaxing and brings out the essens of fishing. So I subscribed, and I look forward to seeing the rest of the videos.
Miss my canal fishing around Merseyside area as now live in Thailand brought up on the canal so many memories on the Leeds and Liverpool canal as a young boy take care Mike
Great Video Mark, heartening for the rest of us mortals to see the master struggle! I had a similar experience myself last week on a local pond, perfect evening, but just the odd half hearted bite. I suspect Roach are spawning now? maybe too pre- occupied with that instead! lovely setting with the Bowland fells behind. ❤👍👍
Nice to see a eel very rare these days as a youngster used to fish corn or punched bread to avoid them. My local river on the Norfolk Suffolk border doesn't see to have any coming through nowadays
Beautiful part of the Lanky. Fished the area 3 or 4 times recently with lures with little success 😢 To be honest, doesn’t rely matter. As they say, “ Bad day on the bank is better than a good day on the office”. The bird life in d tree he area is amazing. You had a very boisterous Chiffchaff singing away constantly. There was also a wren, Robin, skylark and of course mr it mrs Robin and arctic tern.
I love canal fishing our garden goes up to the canal bank and I spotted a few carp spawning the other day and there are some decent bream perch floating about. You should come see if you can land these carp iv been trying for the last two summers lol
@@000fishing I haven’t put enough time in the carp really. Just on with getting my channel off the ground. So much footage to edit. We also have to river over the road located in some pretty awesome scenery So iv been mainly trout fishing since the season started
Hello Mark. Any chance you could let me know what bridge number that is. Me and my mate are not getting any younger and need a stretch that's not far to walk to a basin. Great video.
Great channel and videos mark. Im in fleetwood and just started on method feeder. Would feeder work on canal do you think, with the bed being silt as you say? Cheers
Thank you very much. I’ve used a small, lightweight method feeder and caught using it. Worth a try. The method I used was using groundbait on method feeder and maggots and corn as hookbait. A more traditional approach is to use a small cage groundbait feeder. Good luck. Let me know how you get on 🎣
Super, thanks for that mate. Size 20 hook with a single maggot i think i’ll try, with the ground bait on feeder as you say. Thanks for the advice! I just drove up there for a nosey. Stunning peaceful place!
Hi Bill, The closed season has now disappeared from most canals, except certain Sites of Special Scientific Interest. Most canals are, therefore, open for fishing all year round.
My kind of fishing .Laid back uncomplicated . Basic. 👏👍
Thank you David 👍🎣
No probs . Lovely peaceful setting. Love float fishing . Relaxing fishing.👏
Nice film, Mark!
The fish you catch on a natural venue are far more special than an over stocked commercial water... in my humble opinion.
👍🎣👍
Cheers Andy, I agree. Hope that you are well, mate 🙂
Keep em' coming Mark! Lovely balance of tips and capturing the true essence of what angling is all about

How are you fishing the canal when we are in close season..? Or is this no longer the case as waiting for the 16/6
Hi Bill, The closed season has now disappeared from most canals, except certain Sites of Special Scientific Interest.
