  • Canal fishing on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal in Yorkshire. I fish both the waggler float and the feeder, using worms and sweetcorn. I catch a mixed bag of fish, including bream, hybrids, roach and perch. I also have a couple of surprises.
I feed chopped worm in part of the swim and brown crumb groundbait with sweetcorn on my other swim.
The canal and Rivers Trust offer a Waterways Wanderer Permit, which enables you to fish miles and miles on canals throughout England. This is a link to their page: canalrivertrus...

Great to see natural venue fishing presented and filmed so well. Commercial fishing is great for catching big weights but sometimes lacks the challenge of natural venue especially a canal. Thanks for taking the time to film and edit. All the best Pete 👍🎣

Another great canal video👌 Would be good to see you have a session on the Rochdale Canal as it is like fishing individual waters what with all the locks! Should be some surprises in there too👍🎣 Thanks for filming as it is like a down to earth film of the Go Fishing series without fancy destinations👍👏👏

Thank you very much David! I've been thinking about giving the Rochdale canal a go. I'll investigate it for a future video. Cheers

i used to love fishing my local kennet and avon for early morning tench. unfortunately its now become way too busy with boats and tow path traffic and the tench have all but disappeared. that bit of canal your on looks very nice and quiet.

Oh that’s a shame. Boat traffic can make things difficult. I hope that you can find a more peaceful section of local canal 🎣

Your fishing trip on the Leeds-Liverpool cut was clearly fruitful, and your video was enjoyuable.. Last time I fished the cut, at the Blackburn stretch, all I pulled out was an old shoe, a used bicycle tyre, but the big catch of my day was a shopping trolley, which eventually defeated me. Never mind though, there was a consolation prize under a nearby bridge. Someone had left a half-eaten bag of chips.

@@000fishing Well, I have to confess this was back in the early 1950s, when I was a young lad who lived in Mill Hill. Canal boats in those long-ago days were still working boats.

Great little sesh Mark, although I don't know why the Yorkshire bit should be any better than the Lancashire bit !!!😮
It would have been good to see that carp (tench??) But there we go! The one that got away!
Just bought a whip at the PAAS open day, so I'll have to do some canal fishing now!
Nice to see affordable tackle being used - great encouragement for youngsters and those struggling to afford to get set up with starter gear 👍👍👍
