Wow... this game is 19 years old. I wonder if folks will celebrate its 20th anniversary next year. Also, I really like how you varied it up with this arrangement while staying mostly true to the original tune. I knew I had to click this the moment I saw it in my recommended videos. No regrets whatsoever, keep these videos coming!
I bet GameXplain will make a video about it, at least :) Yeah, I stuck pretty close to the original but put more punch into the drums, added a lot of atmospheric embellishments and in general more layers than the GBA could handle to make it sound fuller. If you listen carefully you can hear me attempting choir singing at 2:15 :D
We've gotten Prime Remastered on Switch, and we've also received news that Metroid Fusion will be playable with Switch Online adding GBA games to the roster.
Wow definitely didnt expect an arrangement of this. I love Fusion's soundtrack and I wish more people did things with it. SRX, TRO, and AQA are some of the coolest tracks in the franchise imo.
@@adamaxley8145you know how many kids would’ve cried of rage if they did that ? These dumbass kids would’ve come out with the fucking " Metroid Dread reusing music from other games, come up with something new nintendo " some kids are just fucking stupid
Oh my god Gencoil, you've done it again. Your exquisite music style has elevated Sector 1's theme to 10/10 status with sublime instruments, fantastic instrument combinations, your song is a great solid length, and even the remixed Metroid title theme after the second song loop was great too. Keep up your stellar work- because even if we, your listeners don't show as much appreciation for your astounding productions as we should, your work will 1) not be forgotten, and 2) one day shine to the massive audience it is worthy to. Take care.
Ooo, I really like the beep boop sounds you added lol. It feels like that's what an arranged version needs. Never expected that to work 1:36 omggg, sounds like Metroid Prime!
Happy 20th Anniversary to Metroid Fusion, a game we thought was the end of the story for 19 years until now! Thanks for 20 years of action and horror goodness!
Very cool. One of my favorite tracks across the whole Metroid series, and you've made it even better. Haven't played Dread yet, but with the evolution of the series' music style after the remaining Prime games, Other M and Samus Returns, this feels like the natural next step for a Metroid soundtrack. Speaking of Prime, really dug the Prime 1-style callback to the series main theme towards the end there.
I hope you do play it, it's got the same kind of panic-inducing moments that Fusion had with SA-X but at least this time you know when it's coming since the E.M.M.I can only move within its designated areas.
@@Gencoil that's one of the reasons the E.M.M.I. don't feel like as much of a threat as the SA-X. Imagine a Metroid Fusion remake with less scripted SA-X encounters, and an expanded story that forces you to sneak by multiple SA-X at once after the reveal that there's no fewer than 10 on the station.
@@Gencoil Having gone through it recently, I absolutely loved it. And listening to this again, I get very strong "Cataris" vibes throughout. Very cool!
You can really hear the GBA roots of this one through the background sounds, and I absolutely love it. You should take a listen to Jake Kaufman's soundtrack for the WayForward GBA game Sigma Star Saga. It has a lot of the same sound font as Fusion, but might not stick as hard to your memory.
Glad you liked it! I had a quick listen, it reminds me of Amiga and C64 music sometimes but with a touch of drum 'n' bass in some places. There's one particular track that has a similar vibe to Sector 1, "Fire Planet & Title Intro". Are you sure it's Jake Kaufman though? It says Martin Schioeler in Wikipedia.
@@Gencoil I was sure until just now, haha. I guess I must've been so sure of it that I've kept repeating misinformation a couple of years now at least. It does have a slight Kaufman-esque feel to it though, albeit less bouncy.
@@leonardososa5726 lol what? The X did affect samus, she almost died, the baby metroid cell-cure-vaccine thingy is what saved her, and allowed her to absorb X (corona's) lol
Outstanding arrangement!!!! Very much love! Love to see my all time favorite getting the praise and attention it deserves. Mind if I use this for an intro/outro for my channel?
Considering the limits of the sound chip I think it's rather impressive what they managed to do. GBA games can sound terrible but they made it work in Metroid Fusion and I consider the compressed/muffled sound part of the charm, or maybe that's just nostalgia talking.
@@Gencoil I wouldn't expect anything less from one of the original Super Metroid composers (Minako Hamano). You also did great with what you had, I will say. 👌

Hoped a certain developer might get to remake it ;) if they promised to improve the horror n cut content.

This is really artfully done. I love the variations you added, especially the sfx-like synths that give it a derelict machinery vibe. Fantastic remix!
This is amazing. It elevates the song to a perfect degree.

Agreed 👍
that they are
I was disappointed when this track never played in Dread. This upload more than makes up for its absence
Artaria III sounds very similar, but yeah, wish they could've just had SRX, especially when a certain species of enemy is first revealed.

This track would've been perfect just after they re-introduced the X into the game world
I love this so much, hightens the original while still keeping to the roots! This is the definitive sector 1 remix.

Very nice!! Gencoil delivers an amazing arrangement as usual. You're the best! Keep up the great work!
Was LEGIT just listening to your SR388 arrangement the other day!!! Excellent work as always
Definitely still carries the unique and myserious tone of the original. Great work.
This is my favorite Metroid theme !
Ghavoran's theme should have changed to this after you release the X from Elun. It would have been the perfect tie-in for Fusion
Fusion getting the love it deserves! Gencoil's Metroid Remixes has ''something'' on them that get stuck in your head for hours
Wow, this remix is sick. Outstanding work mate

Incredible. I wish this was in an actual Metroid Fusion remake.
Iconic music in video games doesn't seem to happen anymore. Last game I remember having a really moving soundtrack was Halo: Reach in 2010.
Excellent!
This sounds more like a stealth mission then an actual free roam sounding song but it’s still good I love it

Ooh, I really like this one, too. Do you have a download of it available? You seem to have a good awareness of all the different pieces of the music.
Wish Dreads soundtrack was as good as Fusions
Shame not a lot of artists cover any tracks from this game, it has an amazing soundtrack, even though the GBA hardware makes it crusty as heck.
