    Great tip, Tom! I shred it in a dedicated blender. On some trees, I add shredded dried collected green moss on top or in a blend.

    In Bakersfield it gets very hot. This year I’m trying sphagnum moss and then on top of that I have a layer of Coco Coir Liner. My maples seem to like it.

      Pretty much anything to help shield the surface from our hot sunlight. I seen different approaches from old tshirts to foam boards.

    Can you dye this moss?

      easily but why? it will eventually decay
