- We're assessing our inventory at the start of the new year. How are we stacking up? Will we exceed last year's numbers?

I had a good laugh, On cue….blue takes a leak right behind you guys talking about no bathroom in the woodyard.
OMG, we were wondering when someone would notice that! 😂😂😂. You are the evenings winning comment Ralph!! 👍🏻
You guys are ahead of Kevin and I. We gotta get cranking and get caught up to you.
lol I’m thinking probably take you guys a week to produce the wood I make in a month or 2 . 2 videos today Russ I can’t keep up watching em all .
@ just one video a day not sure where the second one came from 🤔
@ I must be further behind than I thought then lol
Yes Phil , she’s a keeper . Y’all have a good evening . 👍🏻🪵🔥🇺🇸🥶❄️
Definitely a keeper Dell some days I wonder why she puts up with me lol .
@ I wonder that about my wife also but most of the time my wife just looks at me and rolls her eyes !!😂😂
@@inthebackyardwithdel438 the eye roll is a reg accurance around here also .
@ 😂👍🏻
Man that new woodyard looks great! Nice and neat👍👍
It will look even better once it’s all full of splits .
Blue knows where to go. LOL. The place is looking great and you might be getting ahead for next year. Great video as usual.
Hoping we’ll be ahead of next year! Blue has the life lol
Man those 1/2 cord racks look great!! Ya'll are definitely stacking up well!
It’s nice to see it all stacking up down there!
Hey Phil and Karen. You are really cranking out the wood. You have a great start for next season.
It’s getting there Dick just gota keep plugging away . It’s all $ in the bank
I can’t believe that Mountain Dew hasn’t sponsored you guys yet!! 😎
Right?! I’m sure Phil is their biggest customer lol
Lots of nice looking wood all stacked up
Thanks Larry hoping to get that woodyard filled this year
Forgot to mention, like what you did here with the title- very clever, and stacking up very nicely if I do say!
Hard to keep up I know, we’re so clever 😂 Thanks Mike for noticing our labor!
Well now your just bragging, playing 4D chess while the rest of us are playing checkers😁Stay hydrated
Your getting lots done I must say. All those pallets of wood in the new place you made is looking wonderful. Karen tell him to get the inside of the truck cleaned out soon. Phil how many Mountain Dew do you drink in a day. What a pile in the back seat. I drink 7up everyday but don,t think I can keep up with you ha,ha. I buy the litre bottle ones so you need to drink 3 to one those. Had to torment you when I saw that. Karen your still busy stacking wood. Tell Phil to get 4 pallets stack them up on there side to form a square so it will be a opening in the center, get a bucket with toilet seat on it, fill the open spots on the pallet with more boards so cannot see threw it or go around it with plastic hop inside and do you know what I mean. Our do double layer in width and height and make a little door on one side and there you go got your privacy but have Phil watching in case someone comes😅. Always put a roof on it when ye are not to busy at the wood. Taught I had in my head so I had to say it. I might sound foolish but the double layer one would work. Got to have bit fun talking about stuff I guess. Great video as always.Take care.
I love seeing the full pallets add up . I drink about 10 cans a day so the empty’s add up fast in my truck . I’m gona try an build an outhouse this summer for her down in the back corner but I think she likes to go for a ride back to the house on them cold days so she can warm up .
There’s never enough it seems. Gotta keep cranking until there’s no more room! Must feel really good to have such a great start. Congrats and keep it up!
We can sell all the wood we can process it’s truly unlimited so ya we just keep going an ain’t going to stop till there’s no more room .
The car in the garage looked like an El Camino instead of a Chevelle. Nice car , nice video. 👍🤘
It is an el Camino totally restored
@@michaelsmith8412 my Bad.
Lot of wood in storage. Have a good week. 👋👋
Thanks Noel it keeps adding up . I think I can fit 200 cord if I fill the lower Woodyard and the top Woodyard .
I’d say a lot more than last year. I think your systems are working well together and making things faster. 👍🏻👍🏻👋👋
Great video, Guys 👍🏼. You two sure do have a heap of wood down in the new wood yard.
About 40 cord so far we usually do 200 so we still have a long ways to go . Just gota keep plugging away
Hi Phil and Karen, another entertaining episode. Phil, have you been keeping track of how much wood you cut up in one day now that it is almost all processed? It is always great to see Blue in the videos. He's a great wood hound. Cheers!
I know that first bunch I cut up was 10 full cord and took me just over 6 hrs to cut that up . That lil bit you see stacked in the new Woodyard is just a start once that’s full and the top Woodyard is full it should be 200 full cord
Finally Phil, the secret of your extraordinary wood splitting marathons has been revealed, we should have known. Superman had Kryptonite, but you have Mountain Dew with all that high energy caffeine to propel you far beyond the normal wood splitting capabilities of the average woodhound. Do you understand the long term effects this will have once this is learned by other woodhounds. Mountain Dew sales will sky rocket, you might even be their national sponsor and instead of using those paltry 12oz cans PepsiCo will just deliver you a truckload whenever you run out. Hope you don’t get pulled over by the Maine State Patrol, after he’s done laughing he might suspect you of smuggling. Love you guys Phil & Karen! 😅😅
Cannot believe you figured it all out and cracked the code! 😂😂 Just remember, you saw it here first!
I think sometimes we are too critical of the wood we sell. This year, I've watched people purchase wood that I only burn!! Y'all are a Great Team°° Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Very true David. I guess if we set the standards a little higher we’ll never run into a problem. Take care!
Have a lot of wood already which is a great start. Like Chris always says you can never have enough wood.
It’s definitely a good start but we need 6 times that much gota keep pushing .
Hello Phil and Karen. It makes me wonder how did you store all that wood before the lower woodyard was born. I see a lot of guys that have the hard woods backed up for 2 years or more years. If you tried to do that the cows would have to graze between the pallets. It might be time to make the sub basement wood storage yard. Im sure the home owners in the area would be willing to give up their yards for progress. Thanks for another good video
Haha don’t give him any ideas Dono! We’re planning to stuff the woodyard full this year and be a little ahead of where we were last year.
Blue needs a coat to wear out in that cold! Next order of business is a bathroom! You sure have lots of wood ready to go! Nice work you two. Stay warm and give Blue a hug for me 🥰❤💜 and Phil, don't make Karen have to clean out your truck, or you might find a can of Spaghetti O's next to your dinner plate!! lol
Spaghetti Os an not have to clean my truck sounds good to me lol . Blue has a coat it’s fur , he hates the heat when we’re warming up in the truck he seems much happier laying in a snow bank or just being outside . Bathroom ain’t gona happen maybe an outhouse but that ain’t gona help much when it’s this cold out .
You are way ahead of me on next years wood
We just keep pecking away every day and it’s adding up
Chevy Chevelle SS. Had one back in the day. Almost killed me. Looks like you have a nice survey of wood. The car I spotted quick up on a rack in your garage. 😊
That was a customer’s garage and Chevelle. Nice car for sure. Hoping we can fill that woodyard this year!
Good evening Phil and Karen .
Good evening Leonard!
You must be trying to get a sponsorship for mt dew.
Saw a few logs and make a little log cabin with woodstove and lug a loo. Warming shelter and bathroom
Not opposed to it! 😂
😂Love your videos!!
Thanks Sue 😊
HI Phil and Karen!!😀😀
Nice start on inventory.
Phil, if you squeeze the Mountain Dew cans in the center they will take up 1/3 as much space and then Karen won't have to empty them as often.
Take care my friends!!😀😀💚💚
Logger Al
Haha. We can’t do that because the redemption center won’t take them back. We get 5 cents for every one of those cans lol
Too much info was given in the last video at the end. 🤣
We understand about the bathroom.😉👍
Ya I had no idea she was gona say that as we was talking lol . Did you notice what the dog was doing in the back ground as Karen was talking about that lol just can’t plan this stuff .
Nice inventory tour 😊
Thanks Lyle!
Hello guys, that’s a lot of stacking😂 I believe Buster is as quick as most anything out there
Haha sure is. Buster is still in the top category for speed but I’m probably slowing things down lol
I think Karen should hop in the pick up truck and have a slow warm drive home for the utilities lol and Phil by the looks of the pick up truck one we now know you really like Mountain Dew and two probably enough cans there if you trade them in, maybe put it towards some new chainsaw chains ha ha but I do have one question for you on your rows of wood can you come in from the other end If you have to to pick up some old wood that might be left over I was just curious about that again that was a great video so keep them coming and you both have a good rest of your week and a safe one Lee Hillsgrove Trucking signing off 👍
On them cold days she will make the 20 min drive home but I swear she’s part camel . I can usually get $25 for the returnables when the truck is that full lol . I can only get the wood from one end I just keep track of the rows in the order they were put there so I’m always taking the dryest stuff first .
@lol on the 20 minute ride and part camel looks like he can fit a bunch more cans in there and thanks for answering the question on the row’s of firewood
This year for first of spring we have ordered our container and we are adding a lien to building on the side of it 20 feet long by 12 feet wide we’re installing a woodstove and we will be splitting in a nice warm heat
That sounds like the ultimate set up! Nice!
Phil use some of that lumber and build an outhouse, in a corner of the yard, your on a farm right, pine sawdust is a good composter in a pit 2x2x2 ft it will last for 20 years no smell. David UK
Maybe once summer gets here an we get caught up I can take a few days a build her one .
Keep going your going to double that an then some
We are, and we hope so Arne!
I think everybody that watched this video was just diagnosed with diabeetus ( Wilford Brimley spelling 😂) from all of those mountain dew cans!
They should definitely sponsor the channel!!! 😂
😂😂😂 Put the word out! lol
Instead of yellow snow around the woodyard, it’s probably green! 😊
Well, if you’ve ever poured a glass of Mountain Dew it’s actually yellow 😂 Phil thinks he’s getting away with something lol
Unlike your back seat and dash of your truck, the inventory is looking great😂 Your well ahead it looks like to me👍🏻👍🏻
Lol, thanks for noticing Todd. You are my people! 😂 I’m not getting back in that truck until it undergoes a serious decontamination 😂
Ain’t that what everyone’s truck looks like that’s in the wood business lol . We’re definitely ahead on inventory compared to last yr at this time .
@@karenallen8581 He will never sell me one of his used trucks🤣
@@toddsoutsideagaineveryone says that, heard it a million times! 😂
Memorial Day the unofficial start of summer tourist season is a 4 short months away, a long ways to go and a short time to get there.
Yup, we’ll be set up before Memorial Day
I think Buster is the real deal and all the others are just cheap copies. [but not so cheap] How many pallet loads has your neighbor gotten this year. You guys are some dedicated workers.
I think that made 5 pallets we have delivered to him . He’s handicapped so he really appreciates not having to stack it all . Eastonmade and all wood have fast splitters as well but ya there gona cost ya but they have parts available. When buster breaks like it did this summer I have to get Dana to come fix it . There’s no parts list for buster lol
Hi Mrs. Karen O and you to Phil. Glad to see woodyard with lots of inventory. I'm not going to be to hard on you Phil butttttt she working and you in truck not right you got to go are the dog. LOL BYEEEEE
Well we all gota take a break when the fingers get cold . I’m just happy to have the new Woodyard so we can really stack it up ahead of time .
from a new fan in gaastra, mich. i had to split wood along time ago using axe wedge and sledge many days below zero
That’s definitely the hard way! Welcome to the family!
btw a use for some of those 4x4 pallets you made
Always lots of used for the 4 by 4 pallets
You guys sure have been busy!
The wood would really add up if I could do it every day . My goal is to get 5 cord added each week every week all yr long . Problem is I usually have a million other things on my plate to get done .
Each one of those cans drips a little mt. Dew into the truck.
Yes they do…did you see the dash of his truck? I will have to decontaminate before I set foot in there again!
@ I guess you never really want to meet your heroes
Hahaha Karen, you must be a saint 😇. Start splitting those Ash logs Phil, they're probably dry and ready to sell. Karen, I build my Karen an outhouse at the cabin, it's the only way she would stay out there. Get busy Phil 😅
Them ash trees were growing just a week or 2 ago . I gota get way ahead on the pine for the upcoming summer season . I can see this summer I’m gona have to build her an outhouse in the back corner some ware .
@AllenFamilyFirewood that ash, ya can burn that right away, probably only 25% green
@ I should open up a few pieces an warm them up inside . Be neat to see what they read on the meter frozen and then bring em in to let them warm up a few hrs an test again . I’m betting after they warm it will read a lot higher . Be a fun test to do .
@@AllenFamilyFirewood look into it, its a weird species.
Karen tell Phil to get a camping trailer to set up there. With heat for breaks and bathroom for your convenience. And cook some vittles. And be dog house for Phil 🤣🪵👍
Haha Bob. For one, I’m not cooking vittles or anything else in the woodyard. Phil’s got it too good already, that would only make things worse lol. And two, I can take a drive and get more than just a bathroom break! Lol
How many bundles do you plan plan on having in inventory to start the selling season with?
Not sure yet we might start bagging it green right from the splitter to see how that works . I would like to see atleast 30 cord of bundle grade all split a stacked though before May
Great video guys. Still think the dogs a rhodes scholar candidate, seems to avoid a lot of that cold by staying in the truck. Leave the cold up to the humans. Is this an abnormally cold winter for you? G
The dog actually prefers the cold . So far for January the temps seem about normal . Ya just never know I’ve seen it -20 and then warm up to 40 .
Karen need a heat Jonny on spot in the wood 🪵 yard . Phil got lumber he should build a lunch room with a washroom for Karen . 😊
Haha I’m sure that will happen Leonard 😂
I started next years stuff. I’ve been moving more logs for milling and firewood. Demand is high this year.
Here in Maine I don’t know anyone that can produce enuf and it’s been that way for as long as I can remember . I believe we will run out of saw logs before spring but I only get the free ones I’m to cheep to buy logs .
Hey thanks, now I have Foghats “Slow ride” as an earworm while you were delivering to Mr. El Camino! So much for the Rubbermaid’s in the truck, Phil’s cup seems to have “runneth over”- his yearly Mt. Dew budget is larger than some developing countries GDP, may have to buy some PepsiCo stock! “Quit the yakking and get to stacking “😂phrase came to mind quit the grinning and drop the ……funny how it became relevant later. Women, what you gonna do!! Real impressive inventory you two have built up. Tired of all this winning yet?- not me! 🇺🇸Take care you two
I actually thought of editing that song in and continuing our slow ride in the video but then we wouldn’t get paid. RUclips has no sense of adventure! Haha, that phrase certainly did become relevant…this ‘ole girl’ as Phil likes to say, isn’t droppin nothing in single digit weather 😂 The Rubbermaid cans were a total waste of money. I’m currently planning an intervention for him! The green can budget is strapping us financially lol. From one winner to another, thanks Mike! BTW, we had an earthquake here yesterday…3.8 on the Richter! 😂 Still part of the continent, thank God. Take care!
Yeah Karen, heard that yesterday and thought of you, was going to comment “what’s shaking “- but that would be cheesy as it is now! Take care and keep everything zipped up !
Haha, sure will! 👍🏻
Money in the bank an it's piling up
That’s the plan, gotta keep going every day and it adds up quick
Once again you two...Karen even though I'm the opposite sex, I feel your pain. Seems like cold weather makes it even worse. come on Phil. Fix her up something up where y'all build pallets. And there ain't no guessing, she's for sure a keeper! man some of that splits so nicely and your keen eyes, it looks like you're making 16" long 2x4 blocks. I know...lots of practice. Y'all take care.
Lol, thanks for your sympathy Clell. We used to have a port o potty there but they doubled the lease price and we eliminated it as an unnecessary expense. Now I just take a drive and get an extended break when the call comes! lol. Phil has definitely dialed in those splits…there’s been SO MUCH practice 😂 Take care you two!
Hey Phil, looks like you could use a hair cut, lol I just jealous I am so bald I have to cut mine.
I always need a hair cut but in the winter I let it grow as it helps keep me warm . Summer time I keep it good an short to help keep me cool .
Darn the lids on those cans are blank, the blank ones have a different bar code, that keeps em from being returned for deposit.
.
Its how the Oregon return program works, if the bar code cannot be scanned you get nothing.
.
It takes something like $3.50 per lb to equal the 0.10c deposit.
Interesting. We get 5 cents for every can returned
I like Mountain Dew I drink three of them a day I’ve actually cut down I used to be like you until I started noticing my health was getting very bad
My doc said he would rather see me give up the smokes more than the mt dew . I agree though if I see a noticeable difference in my health I’d give it up in a heart best
To bad blue don’t have thumbs he could be stacking 😊
I wish . He’s a good boy but we just haven’t figured out what he’s good for lol
Phil you got to build the SADDLE DOME over your firewood 🪵 like the one ☝️ in Alberta Canada 🇨🇦. Remember you got to have firewood 🪵 in STOCK to sale firewood 🪵 Phil . Just think 🤔 Phil stock firewood 🪵 is the same as having Benjamin in a glass Manson jar 🫙 lol 😊.
Yup just gota keep plugging away stocking up the wood it’s just like $ in the bank .
What is the width of the table on buster
I will have to mesure it tomorrow and I will get back to ya . I’m guessing 2 ft I know the knife is 12 inches
He needs to keep his bottle out control in the back of the seat
The amount of cans in that truck is just ridiculous 😂
Who built buster ?
My buddy Dana did he’s a wiz at hydraulics and is also a top notch welder fabricator.
Phil there $350 million of aluminum cans go into New York landfill site a year 😮. If you can believe U tube Phil . Do Blue like 👍 mtns Dew ? 😊
Here in Maine we get 5 cents back for every one of those cans, just have to collect them all and take them to the redemption center. More money in the bank lol
If you're videos get any more more polished I'm going to have to put on my shades on😎
You are way too kind Bill. Thanks!
Phil put a bathroom in for her
I’ve stopped asking Arne lol. Actually, I enjoy driving away for my ‘break’ and coming back 1/2 hour later 😂
Not beer cans any way Karen. 🤭🤭👍🏻👋
Nope I can’t stand the taste of beer or the smell of it.
👋👋👍🏻👍🏻
Phil and Karen they have the product for potty problems just saying lol 👍✅😮😊❤
Hahaha Todd, I couldn’t fit one more layer under these coveralls 😂😂
Just curious how many 12 pks mt dew does he drink a week lol
@@leetowsley4510 About 6 in the winter time and 7 in the summer .
@AllenFamilyFirewood one might call that an addiction he is a pop aholic lol
A lot of cans
That’s just the tip of the iceberg lol
Now it now I know why you need a new truck every year did you ever stop and think about your health drinking all that Mountain Dew
Mt dew has lots of vitamins in it , vitamin M and vitamin D that’s what the m and d stand for right . I do give the truck a good cleaning once or twice a yr . I do keep the outside washed and the underside coated with oil so it won’t rust .
