    Having more included as "perks" would be beneficial for those of us who don't want to be "nickled and dimed" for everything on their vacation. I would select a Celebrity Edge-class ship for my next cruise because we no longer care about the water parks, slides, flowriders, etc. as we turned 60+ and our vacations are usually centered around fine dining, sunning, and relaxing (and a few cocktails at dinner).

      I agree it’s a nice feeling when as much as possible is included. Nice to know about Edge class being your preference. We haven’t had the chance to be on it yet

      I know you commented this 7 months ago, but we were on the edge the very last week before the lockdown (March 2020) and you will not regret it. It was absolutely stunning. We will be on the reflection this November, but we can’t wait to be back on the Edge!

      Hi from Tampa. Scheduled the Constellation in March 2022 once they announced Tampa as a new port and back prior to when the Connie was scheduled for a revolution. Unfortunately, the revolution was never completed so I’m a little hesitant regarding the age of this ship. Also curious if both passengers have to buy the premium drink package which I would love but my wife doesn’t drink alcohol.

    I’m a big fan of Celebrity Cruises moving to an all inclusive format. It does seem, however, that prices are up especially on the newer ships. I cruise in a suite so all the perks were usually included in the package. The value of these cabins has only gotten better with the retreat, perks, and private restaurant. These cabins are usually less expensive on the Millennium class ships, my favorite series with Celebrity. I find the Solstice class ships to be lovely but a little too big. That said, the Royal Suite we had on the Equinox was fabulous, especially with the extra half bathroom. I’m already looking forward to my Summit cruise in 2023. 🚢🍹😎

I'm not really into an all inclusive vacation to Playa de Mexico, not that I haven't been there (mostly during Covid when travel was limited).I've been dog sledding to see the Northern Lights. I've been on African safaris and its amazing beaches. I've seen a lot, but never cruised before. I'll be fifty-six and am going on my first cruise 🛳 in October '22 to see Alaska. This will last for about six months before Celebrity drops it. Way too many people do not drink alcohol. Why do I and my wife want to subsidize other people drinking alcohol? Just checked prices, cruise that used to be $1,800/person is now $3,000/person. Trying to raise prices without looking like it. It will not work. We are two cruises short of Elite, never make it now. The shore excursion $200 is a joke. In Caribbean we have been there done that so why would I want it? Our vacation is being onboard and being treated like a king and queen and enjoying the views. Include gratuities is fine. People, remember the cruise line sets the price for shore excursions, usually 50/50 or 60/40.

    My wife and I are sailing with Celebrity for the first time. We discovered there's some discrepencies in your video.
    1 - The Classic Beverage package does not include sodas, bottled waters, etc. Only what, in a bar, would be considered "well drinks". Alcohol that is basically the low-end product.
    2 - I believe that the Aqua package also includes a Spa Concierge (We purchased the Aqua cabin package)
    We will have a better idea what the Premium package covers (other than the mini-bar, which I know is only covered in the 3rd tier drink package) once we sail, next April.
    We are really looking forward to this trip.

      Sorry to hear that you weren’t happy with your experience. If you haven’t received your deposit back it could be that those were the terms of the booking (non refundable deposits) and this is usually something that is part of the cruise line pricing at the time of booking. My dad (age 75) and I (age 42) are first time cruisers. We are wanting to go on a 7 night cruise to celebrate his retirement. We are really torn between Royal Caribbean's Oasis/Allure/Harmony/Synonymy and Celebrities Edge/Apex. Do you (or anyone else) have any suggestions or insights on which might be better than the other? • @brontewcat
      @brontewcat 2 года назад

      I understand the large Oasis/Allure are really quite large and resort style ships with families and a lot of children. I also understand there are a lot of crowds and queues for these activities.
      The Edge and Apex are premium lines, slightly smaller ships and will probably be quieter. No resort style actives such rock climbing, dodgem cars, water slides. A lot of older people prefer the Edge/Apex ships for that reason. They are more traditional cruises.
      My partner and I will be going on our first cruise in the months a head. I did a bit of research before choosing.

    I love the idea of the indulge package. We've booked a Sky Suite on the Apex leaving for 12 nights, though the British Aisles, on May 14th. So many reasons I chose this ship, this cruise, and a suite. Like many, I no longer seek water slides, zip lines, etc. I enjoy well-behaved children, but most Celebrity cruises have a low percentage of them, which may make for a more serene experience. Everything included with a suite really caught my attention. We've never indulged ourselves to this level, but I anxiously await the experience. What I need to understand is prepaid gratuities. Do most people tip more? My plan was to tip more if I receive above-and-beyond service from some crew members. I expect good service and believe the included gratuities covers 'good'. I will additionally reward service beyond my expectations. If anyone has thoughts on this, I'd appreciate reading them.

  • @ducheau100
    @ducheau100 3 года назад +3

    This sucks. But I'm glad they added the simply sail because I don't drink and use much wifi ( I put my phone away). But you can tell they are looking for the premium passenger because the best cruises (like edge) are mostly full 90 days before sailing, so the prices will remain high. One good thing is that a cruise I booked months ago for May 21 just included drinks but now I get wifi and gratuities for the same rate. The cruise in November that I "lifted and switched" to 2021 still shows everything a la carte and I must pay for gratuities, wifi and drinks.
    Also if you notice the prices are significantly higher than they were a few weeks ago.

      I hope they continue with SS as an option. I can see how when you cruise solo, it’s especially helpful. Either that or attractive solo rates :)

    I believe this is the only way to cruise, no second-guessing your vacation or limiting your choices. And - no nightmarish bar bill at the end. There are also other good reasons, many drinks cannot stay cold in the hot Caribbean sun when outdoors, wonderful to dispose of a warm glass of wine for a fresh one! Not that they really last that long! ;)

      You’re right!!! The first time we had “perks” with Celebrity, I really felt like it was the best most carefree cruise vacation

    We are going on Apex Dec 17. Room is Veranda Infinity. Is $300 Horace worth the price?

    I booked a family cruise with Celebrity in October 2019 with a departure date of August 2020 out of Venice. I was able to get a "lift & Shift" to a departure date of August 2021 - My question is...... Do you know if they will apply the new "Always Included" to my previously booked cruise or will it stay as is? Thanks for the input, Rob

      Great cruise & lift & shift is amazing. I believe that cruises booked pre AI remain as is, with existing promos. However, you can add the AI for a cost. It would be a good idea to give them a quick call to see what option works best for you. If you already have perks, you likely are doing well

    I just booked my first cruise with Celebrity. I’ve always cruised with Royal I’m in a aqua class room now. But once I pay that off I’m going to upgrade to a retreat suite. My first 9 night cruise

    We are getting ready to go on our first cruise. We have always went to all inclusive resorts. We are going on Infinity in a concierge class veranda cabin. We are taking our 13 year old son. We typically will have an adult beverage with dinner but we love juices, smoothies and lattes. We definitely want our tips included. What package would you recommend? Are the drinks we like included with the Always Included package?

    Can you comment about the cameras on board and how they supposedly take photos of you throughout the trip which you can purchase? Is this true and do they send them electronically and do they charge a lot? Thank you.

    We are booked on the Soltice, the Apex and the Beyond. We were on the Edge a couple months ago and it was awesome.

    I have mixed feeling about this. I favor the Always Included idea but I wonder how much the cruise line will increase the prices to recoup their cost. Would like to see all the cruise lines go to this concept.

    Any way to get costs of onboard entertainment? Just planning ahead how far onboard credits take you. Never cruised before
