    Celebrity!
    I was on the "wreck" of the Xpedition in the Galapagos two years ago, and the CEO of the cruise line, who was vacationing in France at the time, immediately flew to the islands and took care of all of us personally. Lisa Lutroff-Perlo is her name, and we received full refunds AND got a free cruise of equal value in the future. Folks, this is a QUALITY cruise line and very well organized. Celebrity is owned by Royal Caribbean by the way. Both are VERY good!

    Having sailed both, I appreciated the older demographic of Celebrity, but that’s me. My ideal vacation doesn’t include the nonstop screaming of kids.
    Royal Caribbean did everything well. I appreciated the movie theater onboard.
    Celebrity closed theirs during my trip. WITHOUT any notice they converted it into a synagogue for Hanukah, which was something I was looking forward to while onboard. FYI every time I walked passed, never saw one person inside, nor did I see anyone coming or going. That was a real disappointment.
    Royal Caribbean does everything well, but it had a cheaper feel.
    Celebrity had an older demographic, and felt much more upscale.
    I’m a quiet person and enjoy a quieter atmosphere.
    Either one will provide a better vacation than any hotel or resort for a fraction of the cost, especially for food, drinks, and amenities which are included in cruises!

    • @TravelingFlamingo

    I just finished a Celebrity cruise and it was more annoying than I expected that the buffet hours were more limited and certain hours of the day it was hard to find a snack. Last November I took a Carnival cruise in a spa cabin. I had the same issue of their being no conditioner. I was really shocked and had to buy some in port. It’s amazing how these little things make such a big difference.

      @@MoombaMakai The hours are now back to normal. My SIL went on a Celebrity cruise 2 months ago and everything was great. To answer your question, breakfast quit at 9:30 and lunch ended at 2pm. Also, for the cost of the cruise I expected a little more variety.

    I love both cruise lines, each has its own perks. Celebrity is more relaxed, not crowded, as their capacity is lower like less than 2/3 than a same sized ship of RC or other cruise lines. Even if you come to show late, you’ll surely have a nice seat. Food for me are equal. RC on the other hand has better desserts and more attractions. I'd like to cruise on both again 🙏

  • @benjaminsmith2287

    There are 4 Edge Celebrity ships and 9 others (not including the Expedition ships but those are the specialty ships). You basically compared RCI's larger ships to Celebrity's Edge ships. The other Celebrity ships have features the Edge ships don't. I think overall yes, RCI is more family focused and has a variety of entertainment but in terms of ship flow and feel, the Edge and other Celebrity ships are different so Celebrity isn't really defined by just the Edge ships. I think to compare line you should show all the classes and how they differ. Yes, some Celebrity qualities are across the lines but specific spaces are on the Edge ships that are not on the Solstice but at the same time specific spaces are on the Solstice and not the Edge. Millennium has most of what the Solstice has, minus the lawn club and glass blowing.

  • @kathyslocombe1182
    @kathyslocombe1182 2 года назад +3

    Your comparison is very fair and right on in all categories. We have sailed on both but prefer Celebrity. Unfortunately, our E-Class cruises were cancelled due to COVID so our experiences are on the M & S Class Celebrity ships. We are in the late 60s/early 70s demographics and love the Celebrity culinary experience. We don't think that we would take advantage of Royal Caribbean's mega ship's offerings. Our upcoming B2B European cruises in May are on Celebrity Silhouette (19 days) and couldn't be more excited to return to cruising.

    I found the demographics on Celebrity one in flux… they’re purposely shedding the focus on more senior travelers to one of younger professionals with discretionary income… as they say “modern luxury” -- that said it still has a loyal following mixed with their new focused demographic they’re aiming to attract… family and kids are def not the target though. It’s post college part (Royal) and not the more seasoned ummm group (Silverseas)… RCG is positioning X squarely in the middle with its own market not competing with RCCL or SilverS

    Very bad swipe at Royal Caribbean by saying that someone TOLD YOU that they waited 20 minutes for an elevator on their larger ships. Totally B.S. We have been on three of the largest ships (Oasis Class) and never had to wait. If you are coming out of the theatre after a performance with a couple of hundred people, yes you may wait a few minutes, but there are 16 elevators there. Don't skip Royals' larger ships because of this. She sounds very pampered that she can get upset because they didn't provide conditioner for her. Such a pity because they most certainly were comped the entire cruise as travel agents.
