Cisco Access Points are categorized into the Lightweight APs (LAP) and the Autonomous APs (AP). The LAP operates with an Wireless LAN Controller (WLC), whereas Autonomous APs work on their own.
Typically, Cisco APs are shipped with the LAP as the default IOS; this videos shows step by step how to convert to Autonomous.

Thank you Daniel for providing us this helpful video. Could you please answer few question about your video?
1. Do you change any configuration of AP? I saw it automatically receive your default image, and download it from IP ADD: 10.0.0.2
2. If you do not change anything on (1), I saw you configured default gateway on your laptop, what is your purpose? we do not need to change Default gateway if we are in the same network, isn't it right?
P/S: As usual, I configure for AP with ap-type and receive image file via network by tftp.

Hmmm... tip: use DOS. Rename the file to what it needs to be (blahblahblah.tar), then jump into DOS, go into that folder and type in REN *.tar *.default Done. Other than that, your video made short work of blowing out the IOS and installing something more useful. (I did mine a bit different. I used a PoE injector, a small 10/100 switch, a laptop running solarwinds TFTP, and a desktop with a console cable running terraterm) Have a great Day! ;)

I have problem with my ap 1702i converted to form w8 to w7 ..all working but when i log in gui a can do anything but when i apply or save config. Only i have message 404 not found

The console cable goes to USB, and ethernet goes to device. Is your computer still connected to ethernet also? I only have one ethernet port.

AC adapters are rarely included with PoE access points any more, in my experience. You have to order them separately.

Something is missing here, I did not see any changes to the AP. AP ussually are set to dhcp.

not cisco unless you have a buisness account
Just search google. Have to dig a little bit. I believe it was a ftp server.
Cisco doesn't like to provide the files but they do at least provide the check sums so that you can confirm you're not installing some kind of access point malware.
