Buying all the things at Sephora is like a sugar addiction. It’s hard to stop but once I reduced my consumption (over months and months) I felt less and less of the need to buy. Still working on the sugar reduction 🤪!
Cargo had the best shades of blush and blush/bronzers! I still look for dupes to this day lol. I was definitely a Cargo (and Lorac) blush girl back in the day. I for one DO NOT WANT SPF in ANY of my makeup. I watched this upload not because of the Sephora sale (I get better deals via brand sites, as you mentioned and/or other retailers) but because of you!
Alicia! Can you do a review of the pink powders like Givenchy or O/S?? Dying to see how they work on your complexion since I have a very similar tone. Thanks girl either way 💕🌸
Alicia, those blush sticks from LYS are so good! Glowy without a ton of sparkle. Focus is nice! You don't need a lot and they are not seasonal depending on shade. 55 years young...can't be having a ton of sparkle on the check.😉
Yeah, I read Paula Begoun’s consumer reports on makeup and skincare a decade ago and have happily left behind all fancy (so often fragranced, which literally damages your skin) skincare. Biggest rip off ever!
I have that Dior BS palette. It's a nice one and would look great on your skin tone. I agree with you about sunscreen in everything 🙄So unnecessary and misleading. I have a couple of blushes in my cart for consideration, but I'll very likely only stick to the staple products. Thanks for the video Alicia! Always appreciate your perspective!
I just finished the Saie super glowy gel and was debating between the Dior and Auric. I went with the Auric and omg it’s SO thick! Like next level and I can feel it on my face. I definitely have to figure out how to make it work 😑
I have only 2 products in my Sephora cart : Clarins Lip oil ( will be my first lip oil 😅) & the Dior Soft cashmere palette, i'm searching for (last few years) a certain type of grey ( graphite kind of) that i declutter more than 7 years ago 😅 I want many more, but first i need to finish some foundations, concealers, powders...
Love your list! If you have the NARS blush in Savage in the original formula it is nearly identical to Foreplay, not sure why they changed the name but the colors look the same swatched side by side.
As someone who has over 30 years of experience with eczema, I highly suggest going to your dermatologist to get patch tested for allergies to any skincare/makeup ingredients.
I got the Ilia foundation stick, so easy to apply & so lightweight, looks like I was wearing nothing, my skin but better, loved it. Also the DM groundwork blooming romance palette wow just incredible, wasn't sure if it would be easy to work with, It was the best easiest palette I used in a very long time, the colors & tones just perfect. Last all night looks so natural. So glad got amazing deal totally worth getting on sale.
I like Basma cream blush a lot.I have mauve and I am thinking of getting a cherry red color.I am trying not to shop so much for sure.I did very last Ulta sale.I used to spend way more than I needed.
Love the eye look with your top! Thank you for your insight and sharing your reasons for buying/skipping. I am stocking up on things I am out of - my fav perfume, skin care (I have a simple routine, but am running low on some), LYS powder (for the 3rd time), and my treat will be a Gucci blush. And maybe a couple of lipsticks. And a new bronzer 🤦🏻♀️
The Patricik Ta "Not Too Much" has been on my wishlist but out of stock. Otherwise Natasha Natasha Natasha she has just been meeting my needs-just beautiful releases!
My freckles are taking over my whole darn face. Thanks, Texas. I am considering a dark spot removal product. I'm not sure which one yet. I might need something for the hyperpigmentation all over my body from mosquito bites. Thanks, Louisiana!
SPF in makeup grinds my gears. Exactly what you said. You can’t get the spf protection you need from sunscreen from these glowy essentially makeup products. I refuse to buy that shit.
I was watching Danessa’s Teach Me Tuesday, and someone on the live asked why she doesn’t put SPF in her products. Danessa said that SPF is personal, and she would rather focus on the makeup. THANK YOU. Leave the spf to us, please. Besides, sun filters can alter the undertone/shade, and just be a pain to work with.
I LOVE the LYS glowing blush stick I bought (Bubbly). I thought it would be far too shimmery/glittery for me, but once I swatched it in store I fell in love. Definitely a summer look, but here in Texas that’s basically now until October soooooo, worth it for me 😂 The new DM Groundwork palette is the only thing in my cart right now and I cannot wait to get my hands on it.
I thought the LYS would be too shimmery as well based on photos, but you’re not the only one who has been delighted by the texture! So I bought “Focused” 🤣
This is the first year in 4 years I haven't been rouge. I haven't been spending very much money at Sephora lately either. I'm only an insider now. I won't be rouge again for a long time because I prefer Ulta's program anyway, and Ulta has been expanding their prestige section to include more brands so I don't have to shop at Sephora.
Not to influence you but I bought the Dior Star Filter from Dior at full price and I don't regret it. I'm using it as my only complexion product and loving it.
I agree also, I would never use a tinted sunscreen because it would be a thick layer of product which is not cute! Lol But I always protect myself with a regular moisturizer with sunscreen. Then I apply my foundation and so forth.
I love Sephora but this is the first year that I didn’t buy all the launches and all the things. I still love makeup but I finally realized I don’t use everything I buy. So less spending, using up what I really like, and I’m no longer Rouge level. But it’s all good because I received a 20% discount from Ulta so I plan to only replace my one and only foundation that I just finished.
Alicia, the terracotta Rare beauty shade is STUNNING. I am your skin twin and went into swatch those blushes so I could pick a color for the sale. I ended up just buying it on Saturday because it was so pretty and I was afraid it would be out of stock.
Supergoop SPF tint is a beautiful product. It just for those casual days where you go to work or go shopping. Not really to go to the beach. I will always wear SPF regardless of the claims of having SPF50. For this sale, I am getting Rhianna's demi highlight, Makeup by Marios cool/netural palette because it's beautiful for cool/olive skin. And that's pretty much I am getting because skincare, lipstick and all that I alread have enough back-ups😂
Good morning Alicia!!! Happy Tuesday! Thank you for sharing your recommendations. I'm going the fragrance route this sale 😊 I hope you have an amazing day! 🧡💛💚🤎🩷💜🩵
Enjoyed the video! Curious as to what you buy with your own money. Good that you aren't going ham during this sale.I'm going to get the Danessa Myricks palette, Haus blush Fire Moon in ,TF Tequila Sunset, ND mini Dream palette, Forvr Mood sample set, Brown Girl Jane Carnivale travel perfume spray and Drunk Elephant Gold bright drops.
Yo that Danessa palette is so dang good! The shades are fabulous and blend so well; like no other eye shadow product I’ve tried. I’ve used the palette every day since I got it. So lovely, I hope you enjoy it.
Where have you been learning these things about skincare. I have been suspicious for awhile mostly because they as in companies typically dont create anything for you that does not create a feedback loop for profit. Therefore it must be causing damage in some level to encourage me buying more…. These guys are shady as hell. What do you use now? Anything?
I read “Skin Sobering”, and while some of the claims might be slightly exaggerated, I think understanding how the skin functions stirred me away from using expensive skincare. The skin is an excretory organ, and not designed to take in nutrients like brands claim it can do. I rather spend the money on quality food, in order to nourish my skin from the inside. And protect it from the outside. I’ve been using water to cleanse on no makeup days, lye base soap to cleanse on makeup wearing days, and I’ll use jojoba oil to breakdown my foundation first. I’ll spritz on orange blossom water, and apply Vaseline. That has been my routine for around 9 months.
Great picks! I plan to possibly wait for a Danessa Myricks site sale (she does 30-40% off at least a couple times a year) and hope that the groundworks palette is included. I think lip masks are basically just like lip balm and are meant to be worn for a long time and not wiped off after 20 minutes like a face mask. Why they gotta call it a lip mask? I dont know. I have heard so many good things about the fenty pudding lip mask, but I have not tried that one yet. I did not know that about the Dior Backstage line! Makes perfect sense that the packaging is see through! COOL!
Yes! My impatience probably will get the best of me, and will probably get Blooming Romance now. I understand how lip masks can feel luxurious because they are thicker, and users feel like their lips are being coddled. But I rather put that money into something that matters 🤣
The best practice is to not put anything under or over SPF but I suppose putting another product with SPF is better than a normal one and may make up for the manipulation.
Great video thanks for your recommendations❤ I already bought three of the soft pinch luminous cheek blushes, and they are absolutely stunning. I’m gonna buy two more.
Loved this video. Sorry if I missed it but did you do a video on why you quit skincare? I also have eczema so I’m so curious on how you healed ❤❤ thank you!
No worries! I didn’t film a dedicated video on quitting yet, but sprinkled updates in my monthly videos. First I stopped using topical steroids, which led to some wicked withdrawal symptoms 😵💫 Then I stopped using body lotion, and only used water and soap in the shower. I used soap on the important parts 🤣 And slap on Vaseline on damp skin. That has been my routine for around 9 months. And the eczema has not returned 🤷🏽♀️ If you don’t want to use Vaseline, then shea butter is a great alternative.
@@aliciaarcher Thank you so much Alicia for sharing! My eczema/rosacea has been a lifelong journey. I just started using only the Vaseline and recently picked up pure shea butter. So far it is working! I hope it gets rid of my eczema. Thank you thank you thank you!!! Do you use only Vaseline on your face? I'm so curious...as I might make the jump!
I definitely don't buy into the hype of the high priced skin care. I do a one and done with CeraVe daily moisturizer with SPF 30! And it doesn't break the bank 😊
I always love your thoughts on the sales like this because I do a similar strategy! I picked up a few things pre-sale though because I’ve become a blush addict, apparently. I got the Haus Labs rerelease in Dragon Fruit Daze and Pomelo Peach, and I absolutely love them although they’re super pigmented so I have to remember to go in with a lighter hand. I also couldn’t resist the new Rare Beauty blushes, so I ordered Cheer but I haven’t received it yet. For the sale, I’ll pick up some of my tried and true things that are nearing needing replacement. So far my basket has the NARS Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base, the YSL Candy Glaze lip gloss, CT Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray, Hourglass Ambient Glow Foundation, and the ND Hy-Glam concealer. I’ll probably throw a mascara in there too-either a Lancôme or YSL one that I’ve liked before. I’m more than set on lipstick, eyeshadow, and face powders for now even though I look at some of the new releases like 😍
Thank you, friend! Ya know I need to go back to the Nars eye base. And I also loved their concealer, but will think about re-upping once I finish with the Natasha Hy-Glam.
@@aliciaarcher oh yeah, the NARS primer is my #1 favorite. I’ve always had deep set, oily eyelids so that was such a game changer for longevity. Even more so as I get older and have some more texture and folds 🫠 And I agree-their concealer is fantastic. I’ve also been using the ND Hy-Glam but NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer is also a fave. They just make such nice products.
The big item for me in the sale is also Blooming Romance. Otherwise, getting a bit of a discount on setting spray is probably my only other motivator to shop the sale.
@@aliciaarcher ok! You’re really making me want to try the Suquu. I like a lighter foundation for summer and I’m always on the hunt for the perfect one. I’ve seen Lisa’s on a lot of channels I don’t normally watch and honestly, I don’t know them! I’ll wait and see if you review it or someone else I watch and trust!
Maybe a Prada eye quad and one Prada lipstick. And buying a fragrance that is already on sale. I wish I could figure out if I would use the Groundworks. Otherwise, it's all about the Japanese for me. Addiction and Suqqu.

I bought 5 Nars blushes lol and groundworks
Oooo which ones did you buy!?!
The big item for me in the sale is also Blooming Romance. Otherwise, getting a bit of a discount on setting spray is probably my only other motivator to shop the sale.
Ooo which setting spray are you buying?
@@aliciaarcher The Hourglass: I don't love the company, but that bottle lasts so much longer than others I've tried!
Would love to hear your opinion on Lisa’s new skin tint! Hoping to see that on your channel. I trust your opinion.
I might grab it, but I love my Suqqu! We shall see ☺️
@@aliciaarcher ok!
@@kkeeves121 I appreciate you, friend! Watching Lisa’s video now and it looks gorgeous 😮💨 And like you a tint I think fantastic for summer.
I enjoyed the window shopping video 😊
Thank you, Betsy!!
Maybe a Prada eye quad and one Prada lipstick. And buying a fragrance that is already on sale. I wish I could figure out if I would use the Groundworks. Otherwise, it's all about the Japanese for me. Addiction and Suqqu.
Ya know I forgot about Prada and picked up a quad and lipstick 🫠 Ooops.
6:50 I'm with you Alicia! 👏
I rather just put on my sun hat 🤣
You keep it real ❤️
Thank you, Joyce ☺️
Good Job!
Thank you!
The one good thing about sunscreen makeup is that its FSA eligible LOL.
HA! I’ll give it that!
