What I really don't like is the writing sound on the reMarkable Paper pro. On the reMarkable 2 it's much quieter. For that and other reasons I returned my reMarkable Paper pro.
The rM2 is awesome and im definitely keeping mine as well but still buying the RMPP. I was a preorder and user back from 2020 and it works well but I plan to use the RMPP the same way he just showed for my extensive math class that’s coming up. I was glad to see him graphing functions because we are doing this now in College Algebra II and too have the color is going to be so helpful for the next class, business calculus.
Yes, this is the only case, where I think AI features would be helpful (as handwriting recognition is much better when AI based). But I am sure this has to be done offline, which may be an opportunity for the cloud offering in the future. Maybe ...
@@Artellicobut even if I’m offline with GoodNotes on an iPad the search function works and identifies my search term in both hand written and typed notes. I don’t understand why this isn’t feasible with the remarkable
Same! I'd be happy with a stitched-together third-party workflow where AI goes through all my notes and adds the recognized text as metadata. Then, I could search and get the page where some text matches (though maybe not the exact position of the text in the page).
You answered a big question I had: could the work on one reMarkable show up on the other? I use the screensharing feature on my laptop as a presentation option. So I'm glad to see two tablets also talk quickly.
Thanks for the example how the R2 documents look on the RPP, I was wondering how thy would have solved it. I was watching a couple of reviews and your style answer the real use case questions, perfect for me. Looking forward for more 👍
Interested in your perspective on contrast specifically - you’ve covered the background darkness comparison very well, but the intensity of the text itself plays a big part here as well. My impression is that the Pro has slightly darker text than the rM2, meaning the darker background isn’t quite such an issue.
They should have made the front light stronger for night time and dim light areas, just like any proper ereader... I don't understand why they did not.
Hey, thanks first of all for the absolutely great video of yours! I would love to get a glimpse on the visibility and sharpness of the Remarkable Paper Pro when it comes to *sheet music* . Ok, some context: I am a choir singer and have been thinking about the switch to digital paper (iPad? Remarkable?) for quite a while now and what I have noticed during my research: Nobody on RUclips is talking about this use case for this new and bigger Remarkable, but it's perfect in my view for musicians, because the bigger screen size brings it closer to A4 paper dimensions, also the e-ink screen is not as hard on the eyes and more readable in almost every lighting condition. You can take notes in the sheet and also don't need to worry about distraction through other (social media) apps as well as a short battery life as on the iPad. The only dealbreaker is: Are 229 ppi sharp enough for displaying notes accurately enough so that it is readable in the end? If you would test it out in a separate video, you could maybe partner up with some musician RUclipsr, that maybe already uses an iPad or something tablet-like. Does that sound like a RUclips niche that would be covered by you first? I would love to have at least some camera close-ups of the notes on the e-ink display combined with your opinion on readability :) That would be absolutely fantastic! Have a great day and thanks in advance :)
Hi and many thanks for your feedback and question. I can go into further details and I will think about this (my passion for music is only passive unfortunately - I am just listening ...), but first you may have a look at this video: ruclips.net/video/LTg0UH-7WfQ/видео.html where I have already talked about music scores on the reMPP. Maybe not to the degree of detail you would like to see, but as a start it's maybe helpful. Happy to read a further comment from you if this was helpful and what you could imagine to test in more detail as a next step for musicians.
@@Artellico Wow super interesting, that was what I was looking for. For now I at least have a little bit clearer image of what this usecase could look like :) Thank you! P.S.: I guess it's a little bit expensive, but could definitely work as a digital notes/sheet music collection. Would you agree or what are your thoughts on this?
The reMarkable 2, with its 10.3'' format, is ideal for taking notes and reading content. On the other hand, the reMarkable Paper Pro, with its 11.8'' format, is already too big to take notes standing up and loses its "nomadic" side. Of course, it offers color and backlighting, but this is at the expense of comfort. If you want to optimize your experience, I recommend the reMarkable 2 for note-taking. Thank you for this video that is both fun and concrete!
Many thanks! Of course, these devices (all of them) are for a specific audience and not mass devices. But if it fits into your use case scenario, they do a great job. Good, that there are plenty of choices. For me, the color and the size are the argument for the reMPP, but the reM2 is still a great device.
I hope someday remarkable adds screenshare for smartphone. With a Chromecast you could then screenshare through the smartphone to a tv screen or projector. Would come in very handy.
Yes that's also what AI am waiting for. Would be great to use your smartphone with either Chromecast or Apple AirPlay and forward to a big screen. Or even an Apple / Android TV read app just for presentation mode? 😀
Thanks for the reviews and this comparison. One question I have is whether they upgraded or not the choice of stroke thickness. On my rM2 (which I sold long ago) there were only three standard thickness to choose from. It was not possible to fine tune them (as it's possible to do it in other devices). Have they upgraded this feature in this new version of rM?
I am sorry for the confusion, I assume you refer to the header text in the note. The main intention was to show that these two devices perfectly sync with each other and can be used as companion devices if you have a use case for that. So this is the SAME document on both devices, and I have started to write on the Paper Pro. I should have used a neutral header in the notes document, thanks for pointing this out. Comments like yours help me to think about these "minor" points which I do not even realize, but could become confusing for viewers. Many thanks, I am learning with every piece of content and any help is really welcome!
Possibly. But the interesting thing is, I just opened the document and obviously the default configuration keeps the magnification level of the previous "saving" ... I actually think this is a good choice, just was not expecting it.

Remarkable needs hand writing searchability, even if it needs the desktop app to do it.

Many thanks, yes, I would prefer that this works without closing on one device, but really "full real-time". But the platform has the potential ...
I’m going to hold out for the next iteration. No whining electrical noise, and color blending across all brush types.
The whining sound is really horrible.
Why has no one else mentioned this

can you do one against the boox go 10.3

Does the larger size scroll down or is the screen the size of the paper? I notice on my RM2 that I have to scroll down to see the bottom of the page

I’m sorry I’m confused, why do you have “remarkable paper pro” written on both of them. The title says remarkable 2 vs remarkable paperpro

Another great video. Thanks!
9:20 having to charge the pen is crazy
why don't you alternate locations?
It almost looks yellow 😢
Thank you!
start to test the pen until 9:28
I guess the RM2 was not scaled to 100%, that is why it was "truncated"

and if rM4 comes out soon, will you buy it too and be excited and excited?
Never say never ... I love the size and the color. Depends on what the reM4 is going to offer.
puh, bad only to see the screen sharing - I’d love to see you writing on the Paper Pro, esp. those jagged lines?
Thanks for the proposal, will take a note.
sorry i cannot watch...you are keep on saying you can't do anything about the condition? swap the device? too heavy?
Which condition? The few minutes where the sun was behind the clouds and the color went blueish?
you speak and preach nonsense, you force yourself to succumb to novelties, you stupidly rush after nonsense that is not worth your attention, shame
artificial pumping and proving by force that rM PRO makes a difference, nonsense, cash grab, New styluses, expensive cases, disgrace
