Exciting! I've never been into Remarkable as I'm more of a reader than a scribbler, but it's great to see innovation in the field move forward, and I hope others will follow suit.
This looks like the upgrade a lot of people have been asking for. Improved color, front light, improved memory, and other small improvements across the board while maintaining a great writing experience. The price will hold some people back, but the new tech will also attract a new audience.

It was very exciting to see your reactions to the reMarkable Paper Pro, Pen, and Folios! Your effort to present candid opinions is refreshing, Voja. I have only been a reMarkable user for 3 months, but it has totally changed my daily workflow. When I saw the announcement and associated video this morning, the biggest items of interest were 1) lighted screen, 2) color, and 3) larger writing area. While my first reMarkable 2 purchase (the combo pack with nicer pen and leather folio) has been very satisfying, the idea of a keyboard folio often crossed my mind. So I took the leap with the Paper Pro, and can’t wait for my item to arrive here in the US! Please keep up the fantastic work diving deep into this sort of technology…thank you!

Just so you know Voja, I didn't even watch the presentation, I came to you. I don't trust Remarkable, but I trust you. Thanks for all the hard work you do., I will read your written guide too later on - I watched most of this and was listening in the background.
@@ShawnBuckingham yes, exactly. I'd love to upgrade, but I'm hanging fire to see if my legacy/founder free connect status transfers to this device or not.
Let's hope that the reason there were few and non impressive updates in RM2 is because they were prioritizing the Paper Pro and now they can better improve functionality and features of all their devices.
Wooooowww! This was SO much more than I expected from ReMarkable! What a marvel! So much thought put into it! Wondering what they mean by ecosystem and how their software and functionality improved. Can't wait for the unboxing and review!
Ordered as soon as it became available on the site! Started with RM1, didn’t hesitate to purchase when RM2 came out, and didn’t even wait for the presentation to end before I ordered the Paper Pro. Only expensive tech piece I’ve ever ordered without a second thought. It has been a productivity game changer.
okay shill. i'd consider buying it for $200 tops. it's definitely not worth $600. i returned my RM2 after 2 weeks. i really wanted to like it - and I do - but i got a M2 iPad Pro for $400 so it's hard to justify paying $600 for this non-tablet writing device, even if it is superior for note-taking
I got rid of my RM2 because I needed backlight but gave it to my 15 year old son and he uses it everyday and it got him off of video games. He loves it as an art tablet. So I got limited use from rm2 but it’s still in the family. If the pro sucks he will get it for his 18th birthday
@@roadracerdave7645??? So, its not for you. Clearly the product does not fit your budget or usecase. Why are you seeking out new products that you know you aren’t interested in and attacking others for thinking they are worth the price for the value they provide.
@@roadracerdave7645 and I bought a used Remarkable 2 on ebay and it's been one of my favorite tech purchases ever. I stare at screens all day for work, I don't want to stare at ANOTHER screen to read and write, and I didn't enjoy writing on an iPad even with a paperlike screen protector. Yes it's pricey and if you desire the most features for your money then absolutely the RM is not for you and go with an iPad. Just because someone is enthusiastic for a product and they think it's worth their money, it doesn't make them a shill.
I received mine today. Device is substantially faster than RM2. I like the way colors look. Larger screen will be definitely more useful especially when reading PDFs.
@gwojcieszczuk, is the content looks crisp enough for reading comfortably , specifically the black and white literature (say, PDF or EPUB books), with the natural sun light (like without the device-specific light)?
@@aemes2757 Likewise!! I have even reached out to the RM Support, they said "my order would start shipping on 19th Sep" - crazy...( BTW: I've ordered 5 hours after the presentation, and, I'm in Europe.
I have owned reMarkable "one" for almost six years. I never got tempted to move to "2" because it had no backlit screen and this simple but killer feature instantly got me on "PRO." I just ordered today. Color was the second motivator. The price is crazy, but c'mon, you live once... or at maximum thrice, if you play on "easy" ;)
Thank you for the video. I've been the owner of Remarkable 1 since 2017 and I can't stop using it in my daily life, both for professional and leisure purposes. I was about to buy Remarkable 2, but now I think I'm going to buy this new model also thanks to the good good feedback about your hands-on experience.
@@justjonoutdoors I literally just ordered the RPP and returned the Boox. Not gonna lie, it was damn expensive.... The total package was 800 euros (650 for the table, 50 for the pen, and 100 for the folio). But with the 100-day return policy, I don't think you can make a mistake except for some lost time, and I think it's an worthy investment for my master's studies in AI/CS.
I think both devices serve different purposes and not necessarily compete with each other. The remarkable paper pro seems like and excellent e-paper and e-reader NA3C is a fantastic android tablet with an e-ink display that (fortunately) works great for taking notes.
That's a mistake. Boox A3C is open to other applications, to reading, working on Words, casting your ppt to a screen etc. Remarkable won't allow that openness. Nice hardware but hardware is nothing without software and software is nothing without a minimum of openness.
I am a happy owner of a Tab Ultra C, but this hardware looks amazing. Thank you Voya. I am very hesitant though for missing Android, Office apps, Kindle, email apps, news apps are a must for me.
Congratz for the appreciation from a Remarkable side here. I guess not many people were invited to check the device early. Especially that this release may be a milestone for the Remarkable and not only?
I am so excited. I'm traveling, but the minute I get home I'm putting all my devices up for sale so I can get it. This is the PERFECT device ive been waiting for. And maybe with the larger screen they'll have split/dual screen. But if not idc. It's still perfect.

I have a RM 2 and I will buy this one, because it solves my main problem with the RM 2: I use to read scientific articles. But scientific articles have very colorful plots that at the moment I am seeing as shades of grey. So sometimes I need to go back to the computer and see the graph in colour.
13:24 thank you for your detailed video. My Paper Pro arrived today and thanks to you I was able to compare the illumination of the display. I can also see a light above the display below the edge and a slightly darker strip at the bottom. So it seems to be "normal". 😐
Just FYI what I mean about “Paper PC” is a device in the same form factor as Remarkable Paper Pro but allows access to apps basically turning it into a complete workhorse. If I want 0 distractions then I will just switch to a more appropriate device (RM2). This way I have 2 devices for different purposes that complement each other without sacrificing my core values or the purpose of the Remarkable company. I want to Think Deeply (RM2) & Execute Strongly (RM-PC) - with devices that sync, has AI, and all feels & look of paper. Remarkable came a long way, they can offer this IF they wanted to.

Voya, what a great video, it nice to see you so excited and I agree it is a game changing device. Even though I am a dedicated Supernote user, Remarkable has some amazing technology, and to take the time to do color the right way is a testament to their prowess in the market. Voya you are the true e ink guru! I’m trying to wait to see what the A5X2 has to offer. My decision is I’ll be between BOOX 10.3 go, Remarkable 3 Pro, or A5X2. I know they offer different strengths. Man it’s so hard to make a decision… but you are a huge help! Thank you ❤
I cannot wait for the full deep review from you, Voja 😎 although I already fully enjoyed every minute of this video 🥳Could you please consider talking about integration of the Remarkable Pro into the workspace - do we need a Connect subscription or a simple storage on Google Drive would be enough? How about their Apps for different operating systems? Superb analysis, Voja, as always. Congratulations! Did they mention something you can share with us about improving their software? Hardware has always been on point but I hope now they can focus on squeezing out all its potential.
Thank you! We've talked about quite a few things, but those are off the record and will stay that way. However, my impression is that it might happen that we see a change in how Remarkable deals with the outside world. We'll see how that reflects on the future of software development, and yes, the hardware is always on point, especially in the case of the RM Paper Pro, so it would be very nice to see the user software side of things to follow suit this time.
Amazing!!! Congrads for the opportunity! The product seems amazing! Hope to see 'factory interviews' and more (for all companies :). And it's like a loop-closer, I mean the way we moved from Printing to Projecting, and now back to printing. It's the bedrock of colors! It gives us a way to compare the essence of colors, not just by scientists but by artists. Thanks!!!
"... nerded and geeked out." Hahaha, that was very funny. But in the serious side, I would never buy a device without watching your review, so thanks for your geekiness! And I guess now I have to update my reMarkable 2, without your full review...
I love what they are trying to do and the fact that they aren't afraid to try something new and express what they believe in. Although, I personally don't think the Remarkable paper pro is for me (I tend to like having a abundance of features), I can see how it would appeal to other people. Great review!
I was hoping you would get an early copy and am happy to see you got it and released your video it right after embargo. :-) Looking forward to seeing your whole review after watching the official RM3 intro. ;-)
Thanks for this excellent video. Ok, I am ordering it. And, despite the new type folio leaving a good impression, I hardly use the current type folio on my RM2 and do not expect to use it much on the pro. 🙂 And while I wait for it to arrive, I will watch your (announced) deep-dive video, which I anxiously await to confirm my impulsive decision. My main reasons: Color, latency and size - my eyes are getting old and weary. I notice how A4 pages, scaled down to fit the RM2, are a challenge and they should scale perfectly to the Pro, if I apply a typical 2cm margin...
Voja, thank you for keeping us informed on these exciting developments over in Norway. I have one question if you would be so kind... By my understanding, the Gallery 3 screen technology reMarkable is using does not utilize dedicated black ink cells. So, how black are the blacks? Or are we talking shades of gray?
In subtractive color gamut cyan + magenta + yellow result in black color. Then you can tint it by adding a portion of white particles to get values in grayscale. However, this technology doesn't have true black color, as it doesn't have black in color particles. As to your question, blacks are more black than on Bigme Galy, but not as black as a monochromatic e-ink panel.
As usual a very very good initial review of the Rm PP … ! I still use the RM1 since its launch … and it still works perfectly !! I thought I don’t need any other device (honestly I also use the iPad Pro) … but I may change my mind after your exciting video. Thanks for all your comprehensive and honest analysis. Erick
I'm SO jealous of the opportunity reMarkable shared with you! Clearly, they recognize you as a level-headed, clear-thinking reviewer. I'm so excited for my unit to arrive that I can barely contain myself. The only thing you didn't mention was their 100 day "free look" return policy.
Please use a large ebook and PDF (large = lots, e.g. 500 pages) in your in-depth review. Reading large ePub on the RM means tapping on the book, then cooking breakfast, and eating breakfast, before the 1st page renders. Yes, an exaggeration 😅 but not far off.
Hello, thank you for the support, but there won't be a color edition of the MDO, simply because the colors serve no purpose in a document like that, other than being a distraction. Also, this way, you can simply register your Paper Pro to your existing account, synchronize and continue working in the same document with zero loss :)
Congrats, @EhterealEngine01, you'd have to wait whole lot of time...I've ordered 5 hours after official presentation of Remarkable, and I did not receive the shipment update. Hi, are you going to do an UPDATED full tutorial on this new product ? I have had the reMarkable 2 for over 2 years, and your video tutorial on that device was fantastic !! I hope that you do a full and comprehensive tutorial on this updated device as soon as possible.
Having you invited to reMarkable HQ in Oslo, and it is really remarkable for you and us by having your first impression before actually hands on the device. I feel I am getting excited about the new product line which I have not really been hoping for, but somehow I am kind of expecting something surprising. I don't expect reMarkable team to compete with others in a same way that Onyx or whatever they just follow the or mimic the first mover have done it in the past. I am expecting your actual review of the device with many details as usual.
Fantastic video, Voja! Paper Pro was such an unexpected surprise and I literally didn't know any thing about it beforehand. I loved Remarkable 2, but I had a few problems with it. This basically fixes all of those problems. I want to see your in depth review, but I'm pretty sure I got to order one for me and one for my dearest soon :)

Hey Voja, long time follower, but first time comment here! *** ALERT - LONG POST, SORRY! *** So, like most folk, super excited to get the rmPP through last week (VERY quickly, good work Remarkable!) and start using it! However... I may have to use the CT word here... 'custom templates'!! Is it just me who has spent a great deal of time creating and refining custom templates to use on the rm2 to make daily work note taking a doddle? Surely not! Anyhow, I thought great, I'll just plug it in, use the super easy to use eInkPads tools to connect, upload and away I go... oh no, absolutely NOT as straightforward as that! First of all Developer mode... huh? OK, entering into Dev mode is simple enough (leaving it is a different matter however at the moment!) Then sorting out the SSH, etc. Wow, they REALLY don't want you to do anything custom at all? Then eIP Binder wouldn't work, so reached out to eIP support and have basically been chatting with head dude Jason there for the last four days, going through various suggestions and iterations of the app (and others) before finally getting something to sort of work... Have to emphasise here how utterly amazing, patient and timely Jason has been during this whole process. He definite deserves great respect for what he's trying to achieve for the RM community! So, finally got a connection working, now I'm finding that my templates (obviously just simple PNG files) aren't rendering correctly on the rmPP (too small). I read somewhere that the screen res is now 1620 x 2160, so I recreated my template to these dimensions, and uploaded... nope, still too small. Tried changing the dpi, but again, nothing changed! ANYWAY... the point of this comment is mainly, is everyone using stock templates and just getting on with it, or are other people getting equally frustrated with the situation? I'm usually a very patient person, but however good the device is, I am seriously considering sending it back, if I can't use it the way I want (need) to, then what's the point in having it? Also posting on Kit's channel too! Apologies for the rant, and feel free to delete if not appropriate!!
Thanks one more time for the review! Reviewing it again, many times already, and finding something new, each time) Abt 26:47 | This part is very interesting innovation: "the device is basically intelligent and it understands which area of the screen has been changed, and then it selectively de ghosts and fixes just the area of the screen, that has changed"
This looks like a really great upgrade. I'm pleasantly surprised based on reMarkable's legacy of contentious stubbornness and unresponsiveness to user feedback. My dream is a device like this featuring seamless integration with Notion. 😮😊
It seems that they get off the dead horse and choose a new one. Your criticism on the slow speed of innovation was fruitfull. I was this Januar one step before buying a 2.0. Good luck for me that I saw your review. Now I am waiting for the Pro. Thank you for your brillant and honest reviews.
This is fantastic news. My hope is that the speed of it will make it work much more quickly with images imported in RM1 and 2. I would expect that the same speed will make this a huge improvement with whiteboard work. I wonder if this might enable the remarkable to be used as a tablet for CAD users.
Gracias Voya por estos análisis!! Creo que es el dispositivo color más grande hasta ahora. Ojalá empiecen a aparecer otros de 13/14", también de color.
Really happy to see you with this device, I love your review videos. And this device is awesome. I started in the eink writing device world with the Remarkable 2 and I loved it. I love how Nordic design in general always aims for simplicity, and that shows in the companies of those countries. For example, remarkable for Norway, Ikea for Sweden, Lego for Denmark, and Nokia for Finland. Even what is considered the Nordic style of architecture, for example, that of Aalto, has this simplicity.
Nice marketing and PR strategy by Remarkable. Though I’m not in their targeted demographic-both features and price-it’s nice to see them innovating. I’m looking forward to the Deep review.

The connect debacle: don't legacy users still have free access to connect plus?
@@blueb0g yes
So expensive but I get to have it too.
This device seems to be on a whole another level. I enjoy my RM2, but the larger display and color makes it very appealing
What have you done to receive this in no-time? I just can't wait to get the message, that mine has been shipped.
@@aemes2757 Likewise!! I have even reached out to the RM Support, they said "my order would start shipping on 19th Sep" - crazy...( BTW: I've ordered 5 hours after the presentation, and, I'm in Europe.
@@aemes2757 Have no idea. I got tablet within 2 days from ordering. Shipment to Ireland via DHL.
Do you have to pay for cloud data storage?

I literally bought the Boox NA3C yesterday 😭
Guess im returning it
Props to voya for reviewing this btw, best reviewer in the industry in my opinion.
I’ve had mine for 2 days - yep - going back..!
It's over a year old. They probably will have their competitor out soon.
I think both devices serve different purposes and not necessarily compete with each other.
The remarkable paper pro seems like and excellent e-paper and e-reader
NA3C is a fantastic android tablet with an e-ink display that (fortunately) works great for taking notes.
Kindle app access is a necessity for me too that is why I also have the same device as you.
Loved rm2, so immediately ordered it, and now watching all these RUclipsrs, just to still the anticipation. Still want the circle function😊
THANK YOU for being so on top of this. I sold my RM2 awhile back and have missed it, but I really needed some kind of built in light. I have a NA3C but it's just...a lot... in terms of the UI. I missed the simple focus my RM provided. And I'm glad I watched the whole thing to learn my existing pens will not work on this! Important info. Thanks again!
I ordered one and i'm sooo excited! I'm a gen 1 user since 7 years and I love it still. But the new one will be sooo amazing. Yeah! thanks for the review!
Oh myyyyy and I was ready to go to Boox Color.... I guess I'll have to wait for new Boox color device and the comparison with Remarkable..
And then I wonder where do my money go!!
@@malvinavelia8234 mine is going to go to whichever has the Android version on it, cuz with that you have access to so many reading apps and alternative bookstores. Distraction free is their way of saying we don't want to put Android on it because it's extra work
I have a RM 2 and I will buy this one, because it solves my main problem with the RM 2: I use to read scientific articles. But scientific articles have very colorful plots that at the moment I am seeing as shades of grey. So sometimes I need to go back to the computer and see the graph in colour.
These devices are pretty bad for big size pdf files. They're too slow anyway. You're much better off with a tablet
13:24 thank you for your detailed video. My Paper Pro arrived today and thanks to you I was able to compare the illumination of the display. I can also see a light above the display below the edge and a slightly darker strip at the bottom. So it seems to be "normal". 😐
Ok, we need a Remarkable Paper PC.. That would be amazing!
@joepowell2910, yes, and don't forget about Remarkable Paper Mouse and Remarkable Pro Paper Phone!
It's like famous "Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen", but "Pe-Pro-Remarkable-Paper-Pen" , lol
@@joepowell2910 sounds like a good idea
If picky Voja is excited, I'll go ahead and order the reMarkable Pro without hesitation. Thanks!!
I'm excited for picky and nerdy reasons, as I tried to convey, but be aware that this device won't be a match for everybody :)
@@MyDeepGuide ّ ّI sold my RM2 a couple of days ago to get a colour e-ink, was thinking the Air 3C. Believe it or not, I was two clicks away from ordering the Boox when this new reMarkable popped into my inbox. Stopped, and reconsidered.
Thanks you Voya. Your channel helped me a lot to make a right decision and try RM2. After 2+ years of experience I understand that it was one of my best investments for years. Already paid for RM Pro and waiting it as a kid for his birthday.
Voya, what a great video, it nice to see you so excited and I agree it is a game changing device. Even though I am a dedicated Supernote user, Remarkable has some amazing technology, and to take the time to do color the right way is a testament to their prowess in the market. I really look forward to your future reviews.
Yes, it seems like a step forward in Eink devices, also hoping it will trigger for a better generation of devices in a future.
I'm glad that someone finally implemented partial screen refresh!!!
outstanding review and Im sold sir!.... I love your enthusiasm and "giggly" - thats the sign of a fabulous launch and I am respectful of the fact they picked you.... (but jealous I couldnt come too! )
What an amazing experience!
NDAs aside - this has been a very clever launch. There will be critics...but your input quells a lot of that stuff.
Nice one Sir!
Steve
thank you for what you do!
best reviewer of paper tablets
Woohoo, so glad you got this early. Looking forward to seeing this. Great intro as well.
The on-device encryption, auto wake, and new display alone sell this for me
Can’t wait for your review before buying it for myself and selling my rM2
Voya you are the true e ink guru! I’m trying to wait to see what the A5X2 has to offer. My decision is I’ll be between BOOX 10.3 go, Remarkable 3 Pro, or A5X2. I know they offer different strengths. Man it’s so hard to make a decision… but you are a huge help! Thank you ❤
Oh crap. I gotta start saving up for this coolness!
Saw all the other sponsored videos by tech RUclipsr. Immediately closed and came here for the real review.
Thank you sooo much for guiding us through so many different devices in the E-Ink industry! 🥰
I am also curious about your judgement in the comparison: Remarkable Pro, Boox Go 10.3 and Boox Air 3C.
Lack of color was my biggest complaint. I have enjoyed the RM2 tremendously. Can’t wait to upgrade.
Exciting times! The price and lack of "true" black is an issue for me, but this and Kaleido 3 are making huge strides.
Someone said that the blacks look like the RM2. Not sure how true that is
Thank you for this gigantic deep review - I have ordered it right after the presentation...all what I was missing with the rm2 is now on board. I LOVE IT.
This looks a huge improvement over current eink color! Holy moly, I'm tempted and I usually prefer Android devices...
I loved my reMarkable, I just wish they had a 1/2 size A6 or B6 so its more portable and notebook like
Superb analysis, Voja, as always.
Please let them add headlines, hyperlinks and all the good stuff from Supernote. Fingers crossed.
Mine is on its way! I am so excited for it.
Мне обзор очень понравился! Крутой гаджет это. Поддержите это видео лайком, оно того заслужило!
So glad you were able to review it before launch 😊
I love my Remarkable 2 and i'm really hyped about the paper Pro. The color is what I was missing. Can't wait to get your review about the device soon.
And while I wait for it to arrive, I will watch your (announced) deep-dive video, which I anxiously await to confirm my impulsive decision.
My main reasons: Color, latency and size - my eyes are getting old and weary. I notice how A4 pages, scaled down to fit the RM2, are a challenge and they should scale perfectly to the Pro, if I apply a typical 2cm margin...
Thanks for this first impression Voja, great opportunity for you!
Man, that latency has improved so much!!!
That's actually pretty funny. Cooking breakfast eating breakfast
Great in depth video as usual! Thanks, just ordered!
3 mins into this video and purchased it! Only bought my Remarkable 2 six months ago and I love it but really want color highlighting.
Voya my friend,
Looking forward to your color Daily Planner for the reM Pro!
Others have come out with it, but I am waiting for yours.
Hello, thank you for the support, but there won't be a color edition of the MDO, simply because the colors serve no purpose in a document like that, other than being a distraction. Also, this way, you can simply register your Paper Pro to your existing account, synchronize and continue working in the same document with zero loss :)
@@MyDeepGuide That could be said about the whole introduction of color by reM, yet, millions of people (including yours truly) requested it.
Really intrigued on how would this compare to my Onyx Boox 3C

I bought one while the promo was running and I’m all in - very expensive but I’ve been waiting a long time….
Remarkable came swinging!
I love my RM2, but as I need the light to continue working in the dark, I´m lucky enough to be able to return the RM2 and immediately upgrade to the RM Paper Pro. I´m on the 100-day returning warranty. I am thrilled to put my hands on it and continue my creative work.😃
Hey Voja, long time follower, but first time comment here!
*** ALERT - LONG POST, SORRY! ***
So, like most folk, super excited to get the rmPP through last week (VERY quickly, good work Remarkable!) and start using it!
Reviewing it again, many times already, and finding something new, each time)
Abt 26:47 | This part is very interesting innovation:
"the device is basically intelligent and it understands which area of the screen has been changed, and then it selectively de ghosts and fixes just the area of the screen, that has changed"
As always, a brilliant video. Will patiently wait until your full review, before I hit that order button
Thanks!
Thank you very much for your generosity!
Gracias Voya por estos análisis!! Creo que es el dispositivo color más grande hasta ahora. Ojalá empiecen a aparecer otros de 13/14", también de color.
Let’s goooo!!! Looks awesome! 229ppi is the only part that is a bit of a bummer, otherwise truly cool piece of tech!
Really happy to see you with this device, I love your review videos. And this device is awesome. I started in the eink writing device world with the Remarkable 2 and I loved it. I had to drop it for a Supernote when they released the version 3 of the OS as the continuous pages doesn't work with the way I took notes. If you make a device review video for this device, could you check if this feature can be disabled? Thank you for the video and keep up the great work!
I am a happy owner of a remarkable2. I put the order to Remarkable shop just 2 min after their live presentation started 😂! Your presentation is just confirming my good choice
A possible game-changer!! It would be great if they come out with something a tiny bit bigger than an SN-Nomad, but hats off to them. Very ballsy 👏🏼
Can't wait for Amazon to release their version of this and once again show how expensive remarkable tablets are😁
Thanks for this video! Could you test how it performs as reader, especially for reading epubs?
Well, unless they fix a ton of things, that is one of the weakest sides of any Remarkable device. So I wouldn't expect that this has been fixed, but I'll test it once the unit arrives.
Was waiting for your video on this. Didn't watch it yet, but that thing needs a lot of comparison with BOOXs Ultra Tab
really enjoyed this. thankyou.
Great video, cool that Voya had a meeting with the RM people. Gives a good view of the thougts behind the development of the RPP. Keep up the good work, probably I should not have seen this video, makes me want to upgrade form my RM2 ;-)
