One of the greatest band line ups ever. I was 16 when this came out. No matter what Graham B did - in the end he was the voice of Rainbow. I got laid to the sound of Night Games and now that I'm 56 I still blast Rainbow out on my 300W car stereo around London, CV-19 or not. Kids need to be educated.
Damn, you'd better BLAST your tunes! I absolutely always BLAST my music. I'm now 66, and I play music through my two McIntosh 200W amplifiers and my six foot Carver speakers! Play it Loud!
Yes true two brilliant musical figures.I think Cozy died on the same day as someone who was a big figure 'i cant remember who it was'they were getting all the news and this guy phoned Radio one and asked them to mention the death of Cozy. Which was brilliant of the person to do so............What a voice graham Bonnet has and RIP Jon Lord....These figures are pure rock'n roll
Graham Bonnet a underated singer ( as most have said in previous comments ) in my eyes a legend. Now a days singers no where near as good as Bonnet make fame over night and cannot touch this guy as an artist.
God we were so lucky with music in the 80s and we didn't know it. What the hell has happened? please tell me that class music like this will come back around again.
ladies and gents if like me you were at the last year at school when this was hitting it we had it all the best of the best never will it get any better the music now is just for the money its the same old #### sung by electronically tuned up singers just loved the old times
Completely agree. I was in my early teens when huge raft of rock music came out. When your a teen and looking for some kind of musical identity along came British rock and heavy metal. Job done. 👍
'Night Games' was a hit for GB in the spring of 1981, reached a high of No 6 in the singles chart - I pulled out that Vertigo 45 and played it last weekend, first time in many years. Very distinctive voice, instantly recognisable, also, as that of Rainbow's 'Since You Been Gone' (1979), both songs are rock classics.
Went to the WOP in Sheffield the year Graham bonnet was in the charts with night games ,I still think it's one of the greatest songs I ever listened to.
i absolutely love this song. I'm glad I've found it on you tube. I remember the very first time I heard it back in 1981. I was in the back garden listening to the radio while cleaning my Suzuki gp100. lol. great Singer ' great song. wish could go back in time.
Mine was an RM125X crosser... lol - Mr Bonnet is still touring - with Michael Schenker. Not sure if he's still doing his own gigs too. Still got a great set of lungs!!
What a voice and loved how when with the rock and metal dudes he deliberately looked totally wrong. Short hair, straight trousers, Hawaiian shirt and the aviator shades. And what a resume of guitarists he sung for? Blackmore, Malmsteen and Schenker!
The man with a voice like thunder. He was amazing in Ritchie Blackmore rainbow .This ,his first post rainbow release .Pure ,pure 'hellfire ' genius from 1981'

one of the 1st songs i lernt on drums, one of my mums fav songs and can play it just because i heard it so much when i was 10, thanks to my mum, awesome song
Just amazing. I´d met Graham Bonnet through Rainbow´s Down to earth cassette (I still have in good shape this oldie since 1990, but it´s a second hand original from 1975), and I looked for more songs with this fabulous singer. This is one of the best songs I´ve ever heard. Fantastic.
davec629 He did rock the denim 'n' leather style on MSG's Assault Attack a year later, in 1982. Unfortunately, that didn't work-out too well for him, as he busted-out of his too-tight jeans at what was the first (and only) show he ever did with MSG, at which he was a complete drunk mess, (rightfully) prompting Michael Schenker to fire him immediately afterwards. After that, Graham Bonnet created Alcatrazz and never wore denim OR leather on stage ever again. :-)
agreed.all old buddies..great to see the likes of cozy and Jon helping Graham out..great song.sad that so many of this pioneer generation are gone - cozy,Jon,Gary Moore,Jimmy bain,Mr dio....
This was my favourite song of 1981 (the year I got married the 1st time round) and it sure as hell would STILL feature in my top 10 today. Sheer genius!
Check out 'The Marbles' doing 'Only One Woman' featuring a very young Graham Bonnet. His voice is incredible! One for the real Graham Bonnet fans. Enjoy!
I was 21 when Night Games came out it was brilliant then and still is now 👍
It's good, but he should have stayed with Rainbow longer. I think he has said himself that he should have stayed longer.
Graham Bonnet refusing to grow his hair long in Rainbow under pressure from Ritchie was one of the most Rock & Roll moves ever.
Fun part was Graham had long hair but he actually cut it short before he joined Rainbow
He wears his hair short because he is an avid fan of James Dean. Apart from that, he looked much better with short hair.
Freddie Mercury also gone short by late 70s. Cool to be a short haired rocker.
That's not true at all.
Oye si es cierto, el nunca se dejo crecer el cabello. Que persona tan autentica, admirable no cabe duda.
Cozy was amazing drummer. R. I. P. Master

Bonnet fronted Rainbow is my favorite line up
lollllllllllll, agree...go listen to his new single Uncle John...killer track
@@boogyjuggy Thanks a lot. Let's hope another good 10 years for the man with iron lungs.
Damn, you'd better BLAST your tunes! I absolutely always BLAST my music. I'm now 66, and I play music through my two McIntosh 200W amplifiers and my six foot Carver speakers! Play it Loud!
Get a Discovery, it has a 10 speaker system, ideal for Rainbow.
RIP Jon Lord and let's not forget Cozy Powell either.
no, never forget

South-sider Glaswegian Cozy Powell and Tammy Wynette died one day apart in 1998
@@xfactorcritic Thanks for letting me know..Rest in peace cozy.
Cozy was a great drummer, and Jon Lord was a musical god.
Bonnet, a real rock singer 5 stars
G. Bonnett is and was a magnificent vocalist who could sing anything
Wow what a voice ,never get tired of listening to this and Rainbow, not like the crap you get today x
Sad 😢 poor Graham now performing in local pubs to like 50 people at most
Graham Bonnet a underated singer ( as most have said in previous comments ) in my eyes a legend.
Now a days singers no where near as good as Bonnet make fame over night and cannot touch this guy as an artist.
Yes He is for my opinion that is. GB
Isn't he supposed to have the best voice in rock? Also, in his interviews comes over as a really lovely fellow.
No one is underrated. Yawn. What a mook you are...
At first I thought he shouted it ..but this is note perfect all the way
got to be one of the greatest rock vocalists of all time this mans voice reaches for the stars and beyond
This is a killer song! Graham is a genius and sounds so killer when he sings harmonies.
God we were so lucky with music in the 80s and we didn't know it. What the hell has happened? please tell me that class music like this will come back around again.

I was born towards the end of 1981 and I absolutely love this song. Love most 80s rock music. The 80s was definitely a good era for music

Great song, great voice, great band. This needs volumes much louder.

I've just heard this (11/07/20) what a great tune 😎
Good old Norwich Union rider policies
Graham is one of my favorite voices that I have ever heard.
How can a bloke who looks like your favourite supply teacher have that voice? I'm so glad he makes a noise like that!
What a voice and loved how when with the rock and metal dudes he deliberately looked totally wrong. Short hair, straight trousers, Hawaiian shirt and the aviator shades. And what a resume of guitarists he sung for? Blackmore, Malmsteen and Schenker!
Don't forget Steve Vai, Francis Rossi and Mickey Moody.
@@samppa8303 He hired them though.
Graham Bonnet sounds so awesome! I loved his voice in harmony.
Now Jon Lord and Cozy Powell play "Night Game" in another world... RIP to two greats
One of the best voices in rock! How did I not discover this song until 2022?
Graham bonnet IS The lord of rock!!👊🎸
Just turned 14 when this first came out. Heard it on Top of the Pops and was gripped by GB voice, never get tired of these vocals, never.
Brilliant song that should be played on the radio
This was a hit around Easter 1981. Me and my mates went camping….froze our bollocks off and came home after a couple of days. Great times 😂
The man with a voice like thunder. He was amazing in Ritchie Blackmore rainbow .This ,his first post rainbow release .Pure ,pure 'hellfire ' genius from 1981'
Bought this on a single back in the day ..best thing I ever bought . Love Graham Bonnet.
One of my favs. Bonnet what a great voice Ever...
I had no idea this group of people played together. What a nice surprise.
What a song
Great song, brilliantly perverse lyrics, and did any drummer ever have a more distinctive sound than Cozy Powell?
Yes - John Bonham, of course. But Cozy was a great drummer - R.I.P.
Stunning, great talent Graham.
I am proud to own a vinyl 45 of this. play it a lot.

+mike Wickham Indeed, this was on TOTP 81 about a month ago and I love it, I'd download it if my phone wasn't full.
Take your hats of to the Bonnet, superb,
Great times and this guy was very underrated and deserved more.
Graham has a great shouty melodic voice which I love! Also loved his style of dress and sunglasses! And comes from Skegness.. where I used to live!
Graham Bonnet! One of the best! Great band!
The Man is the Best singer/performer ever...
This song is a real killer great playing and Graham Bonnet us a Force majeure !

Great song - great voice. Remember Russ Ballard's "Since you been gone" - sung by Graham.
1981 - what a brilliant year!
this will never boring it is a great track of him.
Hell of a singer, backed yup by Cozy and the lord of the Hammond, John Lord. Blackmore's loss i feel.

Found this on a old rock mix album on cd years ago at a charity shop n since has been my favourite song 🤣🤘
Graham bonnet was a talent that should have been promoted better. he rocks, esp. in rainbow.
People give him a hard time for short hair but Rob Halford had the same hair style. Maybe Graham should have put on a bit of leather.
+davec629 He had his own style ( and still has ), I really cant imagine that he would be dressed up all in leather like Halford.
davec629 He did rock the denim 'n' leather style on MSG's Assault Attack a year later, in 1982.
