I wanted to give a tip on upgrading your eMMC card to something larger than the stock SV06 8GB card. I found a USB reader / 32GB eMMC combo for a reasonable enough price. Following your guide was super simple but of course, I ended up with an 8GB image on a 32GB device. Digging around on the Armbian forums, I discovered that Armbian automatically resizes the partition table based on card size but this only happens on first boot. You can force it to run again by SSHing into the machine and issuing the ‘sudo systemctl start armbian-resize-filesystem’ command. After the command finishes, exit the SSH session and shutdown/restart the machine. After reboot, you can log in via SSH and you’ll find now that Armbian reports the full size (in my case, 29GB). Thanks for the easy guide as always! I hope this helps others that want to get a bit of extra space out of their eMMC. PS - Make sure to backup and save the original 8GB image as you will not be able to restore the 32GB image back to the original 8GB card!
Since you mentioned your 0.6 nozzle setup, can you share your Orca settings for that? :) Very interested in the line width settings, cannot seem to get my top layer smooth.
@@markkociscin695 I have my SV06+ Klipper screen original image saved. It is probably the same as the SV06 save for the printer.cfg. I am not sure how to share a 1.5GB file though...
You can backup the screen using the dd command. No need to get the eemc adapter. You can flash it back also even if the screen is bricked. Just need to boot fromm the top right USB port with a USB stick running the maker base image

Yes, they are pretty easily replacable, especially if you have a backup handy. If your printer is still under warranty they might send you one for free. I still recommend to stock up on a spear.
@@gerGoPrint3D Absolutely, My very first printer, an SV07+ had firmware issues out of the box. they kindly sent me another emmc card to swap out. As to warranties, are they voided with equipment modification? likely so, the print head cover was the first thing to go, I ended up modifying the large part cooling fan, the print head cooling fan and the eddy current sensor mount to accommodate Diamondback nozzles, which are 3mm shorter than stock Sovol (lots of part collisions before I realized what was happening). Its been a bit of a journey nonetheless, I now have 4 Sovols, 2x SV07s and 2x SV04s which have been spitting out parts nearly continuously for the last 3 months
@@davidconner-shover51Amazing! What I love about the early years of any tech, 3D Printing in particular that everything is still open, easy to modify, devices using standard or close to standard parts. As far as mods go, I think we are OK to modify anything if we can restore our system in case of a warranty issue. If the mod is not responible for a failure they will honor the warranty (e.g. they will replace your corrupted EMMC card even if you've since added a LED light mod). Let's enjoy our freedom, before things get locked down and prices go up. That happened to Android. That happened to drones, even in part to computers. You can try rolling back to an earlier printer.cfg. You can also try to download and install the firmware from the sovol3d website, as I show it in my earlier video about firmware updating. It will clear your last printer.cfg but keep your other backed up versions and other files.
