#1 "Kickboxer " Amazon Steelbook so kool best i ever artwork and best lenticular slip....that how it should be done. "Body Double", "Gladiator" limited re run release....art had high detail.
The 2 Jim Henson releases were great steelbooks (Labyrinth and Dark Crystal). I also love the steelbook that came in the 85th anniversary of wizard of Oz. Simple and clean.
Looking back I was surprised I bought 15 Steelbooks. My top 5 1 - The Last Unicorn 2 - Stardust 3 = Footloose 4 - Creepshow 5 - Major League (Magnets locker theme edged it in)
Good List. Major League, CutThroat Island and ROTLD was in the top 10 as well with ROTLD being my #1. Others I did not get or they might have been up there. I didn't get that many steelbooks last year. Maybe 15 or so.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice! It glows in the dark! that alone deserves top 10 recognition. But my favorite might be Wonka, with the embossed chocolates which is awesome.
I'm a sucker for steelbooks and will double dip for a cool one. My top 10 steelbooks of 2024 (in no order): The 4:30 Movie, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Star Trek 3: The Search for Spock, Footloose, The Dark Crystal, Willow, Stardust, Escape from New York, The Return of the Living Dead. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. The Star Treks are probably my favorites. Original posters on the front, great pictures inside. And whatever you may think of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice as a film, the steelbook glows in the dark, it has to make the list.
Wonka was my favorite steelbook of 2024. The movie was fine and isn't one I would normally own. But the steel has a clever design, gorgeous colors and lots of embossing. It (like Cutthroat Island) is one of the few I own just because of the packaging.
Im not really a steelbook person the only one i picked up last year was the crow. I like them but most of the time i cant justify the extra money for them. I watch so many movies that the cost would add up too much for me personally. I do pick up used ones now and again if theyre in good condition.
The stardust steelbook looks amazing and I have had it in my Amazon cart forever but I’ve never seen the movie and I hear mixed reviews on the movie isn’t really worth a buy for the movie cause the steelbook looks fantastic
I hate that a lot of studios are making certain 4k titles in steelbook only releases. I refuse to buy them unless it's actually one of my favorite movies or shows, like Andor or the Mandalorian 3, KickBoxer 4k and North by Northwest 4k.
I mean if it´s well produced I´ll pay the price but honestly I won´t buy a highly overpriced for trash looking, the one´s you showed looked pretty nice. I´ve seen different ones like Expendables 4 / Mad Max Furiosa where the quality just isn´t there...
@@midlevelmedia It's actually not an awful film. I agree that Smith's films had pretty much all sucked post Clerks 2 in 2006. The 430 Movie is the first thing he's done since then that I kind of liked. Not saying it's amazing, but it's a solid film, and throw in a cool steelbook and it's probably worth getting.
I don't get the whole thing about disc art. Too much of it and unbalanced makes my player vibrate. Plus, I don't sit around staring at disc. I play it and watch the movie. The art on the case/steel book I can appreciate
The original Guardians of the Galaxy steelbook was a cassette player with stickers as well. I feel like this Footloose is a pretty shameless knockoff of that design.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space is my pick for 2024
I also loved Godzilla Minus One, Godzilla the New Empire Walmart Steelbook, The Dark Crystal, The Crow, to name a few. 😁
Godzilla Minus One was a masterpiece

Happy to say i have 6 on this list!!!🔥🔥
Are you going to do the top 10 vhs releases?
1. Alien Romulus
Don't forget the Texas Chainsaw Massacre VHS release.
Terrifier 2 also came out. We're almost to 10!
The Alken Romulus ...u can't beat the Slipcover artwork with Alien 👽 attacked to his face.
Great video
Boooh that is a shame that you haven't seen Stardust. That movie was a great first watch for me. Such a good movie.👍😎
Looking back I was surprised I bought 15 Steelbooks. My top 5
1 - The Last Unicorn
2 - Stardust
3 = Footloose
4 - Creepshow
5 - Major League (Magnets locker theme edged it in)

Footloose steel book is modeled after a Walkman - which plays cassette tapes, like the one Ren plays during several dance scenes.
I liked the Thanksgiving steelbook. The Footloose one rocks 👍

The Shaun of the Dead steelbook was a fave of mine. Looked like an EC Comics cover.
Carnosaur 4k would be epic
You may be too young to know this, but the cover art of Footloose is not just a cassette. It’s a Walkman.

I just love steelbooks. But just have a modest number of them..
Just pre order street trash collector's edition 😊
7:36 wish it came w an commentary track
The story of the cloistered nun on the way in post new release 88 films 🎥 with slip 😊😊

True it frustrating so i only get the one i really want. I say Kickboxer is good value worth purchasing , also lenticular slip looks amazing.
13:55 RIP Bob Uecker
Jussssssstttt a bit outside
SteelBooks !!!!!!!!!

Id love to get Return of the living dead on blu ray or 4k, but seems to be difficult to get in the UK, at least at a reasonable price
If you like the cassette tape steelbook, you'd love the 430 movie steelbook
That was a great looking Steelbook. Smith has burned me too many times recently so I passed on it.

@midlevelmedia yea the movie itself kinda sucked. But the steelbook is really cool. Hope they do a nice clerks triology release
@@michelle_pgh id be fine with it for $20. But I think I got it for 30 so... meh. Clerks 3 wasn't bad, hoping 4 comes back strong.
....It's a walkman
You said the Walk Hard steelbook has a glossy matte finish. Those are opposites. Did you mean a matte finish with spot gloss?
Escape From New York from Scream Factory would be a pick for me
That was nice. I resisted since I’ve already got the regular 4K, but definitely wanted.
How many years has it been since you seen those flicks?
Borderlands 4 is coming this year Ken! Do you plan on picking it up?
I never liked steelbooks. Too whimsy. I can't explain very well, but they don't feel like a genuine cinema item for me. I prefer the ordinary discs.
With the exception of Terminator I don't even own any of those. :D
As an Aussie, WOLF CREEK is one of my favourites! What did you think of the movie Ken?
I bought first steelbook Disney treasures collection back in 2003. Thought they were bulky and ugly back then
I feel like I'm the only one who doesnt really care for Steelbooks.
Correct
You pretty much are.
I don't care either.
The only thing I don't like is how easy they are to damage
Yup, you’re the one.
I liked the Borderlands movie, I know I'm alone.
yes u are😅, have u played the Borderlands game? u will definitely like it even just for cut scenes.
