...Funny how they keep complaing the cost of games rising, especially over recent years, but a singular person in a basement on a shoestring budget can make a more popular and captivating game than any AAA company. It's almost like they need to invest in true talent vs whatever the hell theyre doing now.
Sure it CAN happen, but realistically.. If you're looking at the number of releases on Steam per WEEK, you can tell that most simply fail commercially even if they are technically "good" games. Having a large budget with a lot of marketing can definitely help to reach a bigger audience, if you're looking at all the popular franchises. So it's just not that simple.
@@Wanderlauch Yep on the spot. Even if you make unique games or games made to stand out or have a clear space in video games, your chances of succeeding is still low, even with good marketing and advertising. Even with a publisher you're just not guaranteed making a return and being able to continue, which is why publishers are important after all. Luckily we're starting to get more A-AA publishers trying to work with independent developers, taking some of the aspect which developers aren't good at, etc. We need a middle man to fund the games in the bracket we've lost over time, which isn't happening yet.
@Psybeam its not youre fault my life is fleating from me lol On the real though, you should look into the Apple II. A very important computer in the history of gaming.
