Blake is a music producer and singer-songwriter that hosts a live podcast geared to helping musicians and producers navigate their music career in a really grounded way. Blake started his career at the age of 15, writing and performing music in bands, and was offered his first publishing contract at the age of 17 years old.
While playing around the state of Texas as a singer-songwriter, Blake ventured into producing albums for local bands in his hometown of Houston, Texas. He quickly established a reputation of becoming the 'go-to' producer for his signature vintage-retro sound. He began mentoring the artists and bands that he worked with, helping align their careers with their goals. As the internet began shaping the music landscape with streaming, Blake then shifted his career into digital marketing strategies and online artist development.
In 2017 he was then hired to run the Music Career Development department of the Los Angeles Film School. After separating with the college in 2022 due creative differences, Blake moved to Gruene, Texas and started his own podcast and music development system aimed to mentor young musicians. He also wrote a book encompassing his entire music system's strategy guide. You can grab a free digital copy of his book here: bit.ly/freemusicbook

Memories follow me left and right
I can feel you over here I can feel you over here
you take up every corner of my mind
whatcha gon do now
ever since the da day y-you went away
no I don't know how
how to erase your body from out my brain
whatcha gon do now
maybe I should just focus on me instead
But all I think about
are the nights we were tangled up in your bed
oh no (oh no)
oh no (oh no)
you’re going round in circles got you stuck up in my head (yeah)
Memories follow me left and right
I can feel you over here I can feel you over here
you take up every corner of my mind
your love stays with me day and night
I can feel you over here I can feel you over here
you take up every corner of my mind
whatcha gon do now
ever since the da da day y-you went away
someone tell me how
how much more do I gotta drink for the pain
whatcha gon do now
you did things to me that I just can't forget
now all I think about
are the nights we were tangled up in your bed
oh no (oh no)
oh no (oh no)
you're going round in circles got ya stuck up in my head
Memories follow me left and right
I can feel you over here I can feel you over here
you take up every corner of my mind
your love stays with me day and night
I can feel you over here I can feel you over here
you take up every corner of my mind
whatcha gon do now
did ya know you’re the one that got away
and even now baby i'm still not ok
did ya know that my dreams they're are the same
everytime I close my eyes
Memories follow me left and right
I can feel you over here I can feel you over here
you take up every corner of my mind
whatcha gon do now
your love stays with me day and night
I can feel you over here i can feel you over here

What song should I react to next? Let me know!
Fake Love by BTS.
Please react to BTS Room Live Festa 2021, that's live performance! 👏
i think youd like Ma City or Dionysus by bts ! pls check them out theyre more rock based
BTS room live festa 2021, their Tiny Desk concert or MTV unplugged .. also a different artist, try The Coronas (I know, unfortunate name right now… ) but they are an Irish band, very good.
Black Swan by bts!
similar to what bts say, bts are the reason army exist. we are the way we are because of bts. they always encourage us to be the best versions of ourselves and I'm glad you can see that aspect of army ran than the negative sides that people tend to focus on!
I LOVE that. That is amazing! Great comment! :)
if you want to see a behind the scenes of how bts is in the studio, i recommend checking out My Universe by bts and coldplay and then check out the documentary which i think is about 10-20 minutes long. it shows chris martin and bts in the studio and its really cool
Nice!! That sounds like a lot of fun! Will check that out and do a reaction!
I would like to second this rec
Great suggestion. 💜💜💜
@@BlakeMakesMusic Here is the link to the 13 mins documentary. (Don't forget to turn on the closed caption for English Subtitles! ruclips.net/video/viM_c-Fc7sc/видео.html
hahaha... finding this after I left a reply on channel host question what to listen to next. So agree with you.
Hi I think you should check out the BTS Room Festa 2021. It gives you a rough idea of the diverse sound this group is capable of. Fantastic live vocals and I love that it´s a medley of their B-sides, not the greatest hits and it still is astonishingly good.
Also i second the My universe Coldplay collab, plus the Documentary, it really is lovely.
Tiny desk concert is awesome as well.
Live would be so cool. I love that. Thank you for the suggestions!
@@BlakeMakesMusic I would also add the most recent PROOF LIVE performance with a live band (featuring Andersen Paak on one song) as well as background singers. All of the members have amazing unique voices. They filmed this in Las Vegas right after their historic Grammy performance and during their 4 sold out nights at Allegent Stadium!
This performance have English Subtitles so you can understand what they are singing. Here is the link: ruclips.net/video/9sJ_I1lHpps/видео.html
Great idea with BTS Room Festa 2021. This will be very helpful :)
You may want to check out BTS Armypedia songs as well. ☺️
@@BlakeMakesMusic Definitely recommend the Tiny Desk concert! You’ll love the live band, too! 😁💜
Jungkook is known as the "stability king" because he can maintain his tonal quality and resonance even when doing pretty heavy choreo.
Yes this is absolutely true 👍❤️
Fun fact: both of them, Charlie and Jungkook, have perfect pitch.
Jungkook sounds the same and even better live, it is INSANE. 😘💜 Check out House of Cards BTS live.
Still With You by JK is one of his solo songs and 'Jungkook does not know autotune' video would be great to watch.
Nice!!! Thanks for the suggestion!
'Jungkook does not know autotune' video is a old video there are wayyyyy better ones now like

@@Maria.art_and_soul ok he should watch all of them. Why are you comparing?:):):):
@@thetruthuntold9642 Because he simply may not have time to react to all of them. So it's natural that we'd try to find the best one for him to watch, based on how recent the video is, how holistic it is, etc
@@AceQueen711 look at you how nice and innocent.
Fun fact: Jungkook has perfect pitch. Charlie does also! Fun collaboration of musical geniuses.
I'm of the the Radiohead/Foo Fighters generation, Am a big fan of Archenemy, JFAC, Chimaira & Suicide Silence too. Their albums will go with me to my grave. One day, 6 yrs ago, I came across BTS & it's been a free-fall ever since. They are a beacon in my life & they made me smile all the time. Their albums will also follow me to yonder. That said, I now realize I need to save up for a mausoleum >v
Hey thanks for your reaction! Since you like behind the scenes of music production, I would recommend you look at the BTS and COLDPLAY documentary on their collaboration called "My Universe". I would also you react to the "My Universe" song/music video also.
That sounds like so much fun! Will absolutely get to that one at a certain point. Can't wait!
@@BlakeMakesMusic there’s also a really cool documentary about the BTS song ON . The documentary follows the UCLA marching band that does the instrumentation on the song.
@@BlakeMakesMusic Probably not something for a reaction, but for your personal pleasure and to get an idea of Jungkook's vocal versatility, listen to his cover of Harry Style's Falling. ruclips.net/video/22VOzqS_9ms/видео.html
Jungkook is the “Main Vocalist” of BTS and such a superstar! 🌟 He has the most beautiful and angelic voice! Both Jungkook and Charlie have been confirmed to have actual absolute pitch or(perfect pitch)! 💜 Please react to Jungkook’s song, “Stay Alive” and also for a behind the scenes video of Jungkook in the studio and his vocal responsibilities in the group, please react to “Jungkook the Main Vocalist of BTS” by Ida S! 😊💜
You're pronouncing Jung Kook's name almost perfectly! The "J" is hard like in the name John, but also leans close to a "ch". The "K" in the beginning of Kook is closer to a "g" than a "k". the "oo" in "kook" does not rhyme with "cook" rather is a long "oo" sound like in "food" or "June". If you find it difficult or want to avoid mispronunciation, you could also call him JK ("Jay Kay"). It's a very common nickname for him.
it would be nice if u can react "BTS proof live" (it contained 3 songs). u will love their live performance. and Coldplay ft BTS "my universe"
Oh that sounds like fun! Thank you!
@@BlakeMakesMusic their live is more better than the studio version. And the band was great too. U will like the guitarist n drummer on that live performance (anderson paak become the drummer in one of the song at there) 😁
@@miyuryuu7260 Oh Awesome!!!
Charlie Puth actually has absolut pitch! And Jungkook does not need any help with his tone. He knows how to hold it and surf on it. A super
skilled singer with many different colours in his voice. And he can rap.
JK are also credited as a producer in some BTS songs but he is the one who does all the chorus and adlibs. Do listen to his selfproduced song "Still with you" wich he wrote. A jazzy song with amazing vocals.
You have to lower your tounge when you say the letters k in his name. Then it sounds kind of a "g" (but it is not...).
Amazing!! Thank you for the comment!
It has been reported that JK also has perfect (Absolute) pitch which has been confirmed by his BTS band mates 💜🥰
Jungkook has perfect pitch too
Charlie Puth is widely known to have absolute/perfect pitch. He is known for it & people test him on it all the time. Charlie said in an interview today that Jungkook also has perfect pitch. He said that’s how they communicate through music. He said he can ask JK to sing a certain note a cappella & he sings it perfectly. They both have produced. But Charlie wrote & produced this song.
@@BK-321 And a Run BTS episode!
Thank you for your reaction! I am still insisting on BTS Room Festa 2021! Or their most recent live about Yet to Come, For Youth and My You (there's a special guest and I am pretty sure you will like that guest). Your "Junkcook" pronunciation is pretty good :-) (perhaps the "J" is a little bit stronger?)
Ohhh I love surprises! LOL
@@BlakeMakesMusic hahahah just say JK and ur fine 🤣
I highly recommend these songs from Jungkook:
-Stay Alive by Jungkook and Suga
-Still with You
-Falling cover
-Magic Shop (Jungkook I believe wrote it for ARMY. Idk if he helped with production or not)
Thank you for reacting and your thoughts!!!
Jungkook is such an amazing singer!! Charlie and JK’s vocals complement each other very well.
Yes, Jungkook co-produced Magic Shop ♡♡
He was the main writer and producer of Magic Shop.
MY YOU, is the song JungKook wrote for ARMY..
@@zonrey2781 yes both my you and Magic shop were written for army By Jungkook
I always find the BTS collabs to be a drop off in artistic/intellectual quality vs their work as a group. Their group work has astonishing complexity and sophistication. They are also one of the few groups that are consistently better live than they are on record. Check out as much of their live stuff as you can.
💯 agree! I like this song but I think it lacks the instrumental depth we're used to from BTS. And definitely check out the live version when possible. 👍
Absolutely agree 100%. This song is cute but doesn't compare to BTS in terms of complexity and depth.
Definitely agree with this!! I would say, not just their work as a group, but also their solo stuff (but that's just my opinion!!).
agreed!
hi blake!! since you mentioned wanting to go deep in the rabbit hole and mentioned army, i would recommend you to watch taylor nakamoto's introduction to the members, you will not only get to know their roles, personalities and even more of their vocal range, you will also see that army is a reflection of the group, and there would be no army without bts' constant love and support (and vice versa). i know this is not your typical content, but it's very informative and i think knowing the members makes you appreciate their songs way more. it would be awesome to watch you react to it :))))
great reaction!! you nice, keep going :)
Hi. I am a 50 yr old ARMY (since 2014) and want you to know that BTS in person in concert is a life altering experience.
For all names in BTS that start with a J, it's pronounced like a mix of J as in John and ch as in chance :) Jungkook is pronounced smth like [chon-gguk], Korean consonants k-g, p-b, t-d and l-r can sound similar and Latin alphabet basically fails to show you how to pronounce it close enough lmao
Very well explained. 👍
(Or he could just go with JK... 😉)
There's a hidden gem that I really want to recommend 😁 It's DIS-EASE by BTS and the production is really really good. You might not find a lot of ARMYs recommending it bc we usually start with the more famous songs but I heard one of the producers say that J-Hope was very meticulous when they were producing this song 😁 It's from one of their latest albums called BE which is a pandemic album and the title of the song is kind of a play of words with disease and also "dis" being a prefix so dis-ease meaning having a hard time 😁
So here are some information:
Jungkook has perfectly shown the fact he can sing that a cappella/in live, his voice is natural, he is a talented singer that sings out of love for music and not for work (as he clearly demonstrate).
Charlie and Jungkook had another collaboration singing "we don't talk anymore" in live.
Even thought Jungkook is a really good singer he is not a native English speaker so we can hear a little bit of pronunciation that may remind us that...but is only for some words, he did a really good job.
(For a Korean speaking and learning English is just difficult as an American trying to speak and learn Chinese).
BTS even thought you don't notice that when you are new to them, have really distinctive and different voices.
Jungkook is the main vocalist with Jin and Jimin...even thought he has had more lines than the other two in many songs.
Jungkook, we can also say, has a voice that reminds us of Justin Bieber (since it is...we can consider it "sweet" and very "likeable"), he may have a lot of success in America for his voice.
You need to listen to other BTS songs.
I recommend you: (if you want to listen well to their voices)
-house of cards
-blood sweat and tears
-still with you (Jungkook voice)
-baepsea
-the truth untold (vocal line)
-stigma (V voice)
-lie (Jimin voice...in this you can see how much his voice is particular..go also see his dance to this song, a masterpiece)
-anpanman (for some rap)
-mic drop (for some good rap and sound)
-fake love (a Masterpiece..for the concept, the rap, the voices... everything, along with blood sweat and tears (you need to have read some books to understand this one well haha))
-black swan (a masterpiece...voice, message..with this song, you understand what a real artist is, is like a poem for art, you need to look at the lyric (the main point of the song))
Just to clarify jungkook is the only main vocalist for bts. Jimin is the lead vocalist. Jin and V are vocalists. Maybe I'm just misunderstanding what you were saying
"Jungkook is the main vocalist with Jin and Jimin": no, Jungkook is the only main vocalist. Jimin is lead vocalist, JIn and V vocalist
#BTSARMY - 56 year old Dope Old Person, and here to support Jungkook, the main vocalist of BTS and awesome singer overall. Thank you for reacting 💜 I've already recommended a few songs in the previous videos. I hope you react to them.
You said, "I'm not a normal reaction chanel" - that's what I like about you! As a person who enjoys but knows little to nothing about how music is arranged or produced, learning about it helps me enjoy the music more. Thank you! Keep going 💜
As another recommendation for a future reaction video, I'd love to hear your analysis of IU's Eight featuring and produced by Suga.
Jungkook vocals are always on perfect pitch his voice range so wide it's fits in any type of song i love the song and MV too 💗
Blake, I appreciate your explanation about song production. That’s why I watch reactors, to learn something new. Thanks for sharing!
P.S. Good luck with the rabbit hole. I spent about a week saying I wasn’t ARMY and wasn’t going down any rabbit holes - lol - you can guess the end of that story. 💜
Thank you so much for your informative reaction. I learned so much about production. I'm a 79-year old ARMY and also a Charlie Puth fan. At my age you can imagine how much music is stored in my head, and growing up in NY gave me the opportunity to see a lot of the greats in person. I don't have a genre bias, I just like good music. I became ARMY around the time BTS released 'I NEED U' and will always support them as a group and individually because they're all innately talented. I love this song and I think their voices blend well. It's an upbeat and fun listen. Jungkook is almost mystical to me. I can't wait to see what his future holds. One of my favorite BTS songs is 'ON'. It really showcases how hard working and talented they are. Thanks again for your reaction. Hope to see you join the ranks of ARMY in the future.💜
Loved your breakdown. 💜
Not gonna lie, I kind of missed the instrumental depth we're used to from BTS (but maybe we're just spoiled in that regard 😅). I love their voices together though and it's great to see JK having fun. (It’s totally ok to just call him JK btw. 😉👍)
My suggestions would be Dionysus, ON Kinetic Manifesto or Fake Love (preferably the extended rock version). 💜
'ON' Kinetic Manifesto Film : Come Prima!!!
They also performed "ON" at Grand Central Terminal for The Tonight Show :)
And Suga's "Shadow" is great too!
BTS Army here. I will be 50 next year. I saw them in Vegas in April. They are amazing
Rabbit hole is a very apt way to describe it. Grammys started it and haven’t been the same since. I don’t know what happened to me, I think there is sorcery involved…lol. I’m not young! Love this collab, love the upbeat of this! Charlie is awesome, but BTS come on, those guys are super impressive with their work ethic, love for each other and humbleness. I have not missed a day of Jungkook since May. Like morning coffee, it’s now a need…;)
A Kookie a day. That's so sweet.
Me too! After Grammy! And every day since, I’ve been BTS-ing on YT LOL 😆 I’m not young either and love their humbleness and talent 🥰
Jk voice is fantastic 👌 😍, Charlie songs have all the same vibe, but Jk is in another level
When you want to hear JKs rare voice I have to recommend you his vlives. He always sings songs that army requested and sounds sooo awesome. Let me find a good video for you.

This is a good one!
vlives are best bro his latest vlive only in a jungkook midnight vlive will he hit insane high notes while sitting, fall off the chair, and then finish the song from the floor
Sir when you said "cookie cutter arrangement(?)" I literally giggled cause Jungkook's nickname is Kookie 😂😂💜💜
Oh i love that you pronounced his name right the first time too! And gosh, yes, his voice is amazingly like edited but mostly not bcos he can naturally change his vocals a lot for whatever style he wants. It's absurd but it's like magic. But some people will call his main vocal style as "trendy", not unique but still golden.
Jeon Jung-Kook pronounced junguk had a truly beautiful voice- multidimensional an incredibly gifted artist. Raw natural talent. His harmonies and back vocal runs are insane
I agree ARMY is fascinating (I only joined this year, unfortunately), but you will slowly see why as you get to know more about these talented guys. This is only possible because BTS are some of the most genuine, beautiful people this world has seen.
Gonna go ahead and write my fav songs here:
Rap: Ddaeng, Ugh, Tear, Cypher part1/part2/part3/part4
Vocal: The truth untold, 00 o'clock, dimple
BTS: Mic drop, fake love, ON, blood sweat &tears , black swan
BTS old hip hop songs: N.O, We are bulletproof, Danger, Dope, No more dream...
Those are the basic songs that everyone usually start with
BTS are golden voices! Some singers want to take advantage! BTS with the 7 members are great! BTS thank you for existing!
I think they have dope suits too!! LOL
Yes!!! So much swag!
Omg, ok. So first, thank you so much for giving BTS another try. AND especially for not being defensive when people disagreed and/or corrected some assumptions. That’s so refreshing to see in a RUclipsr reacting to BTS: people not having a knee-jerk reaction to being challenged.
It’s so nice to see someone actually demonstrably knowledgeable about music production (not just saying they are). Thank you for mentioning the distortion; you mentioned Jungkook’s voice, and I’m a little sad that you heard it here with the distortion. He has a very pretty, free-spinning voice, with medium power and incredible control - especially considering he’s often dancing while singing. The best, clearest studio example of his voice is either his song “Still With You” or his parts on the Coldplay song “My Universe” (for My Universe, he is the first Korean part). Still With You was recently made available a capella, as well. If you’d like a link, I can find one for you. There are many many live clips of him singing, but I don’t know how far you want to dive into those yet.
The distortion works well with the song to lend that other-worldly, almost too much feeling that compliments the subject matter, but they did lean a little heavy on Jungkook’s voice in my opinion. A couple of people, including Charlie Puth, have mentioned that Jungkook has perfect pitch, but there’s no true demonstration beyond, as you have said, him having incredible relative pitch.
Jungkook does do some production work, but if I remember correctly, he didn’t for this song. He has worked on others, and is very active in terms of the vocal guides and adlibs with most of BTS’ catalog; it would be safe to say that his vocal “flavour” is heavy imprinted on many of their songs.
Ooooof, I have so much to say. I’ll leave it off here. Thanks for reacting and being logical and calm. That’s a rare trait online nowadays.
Euphoria, Yet to Come, Magic Shop, Daewichta, Born Singer, Run BTS, Forever Young would be my recommendations. Thank you for sharing your reaction. I'm so glad that you dialed the number, my curiosity was growing.
Jungkook has the best voice in Bts it's just a fact any army know he is the main vocalist for a reason 💜people prefer voice over another ofc
Charlie and Jungkook both have perfect pitch or as you said really good relative pitch and charlie said "he send me the perfect vocals " they performed together we don't talk anymore 4 years ago and they are in touch
Jungkook DOES NOT have perfect pitch. Where did you even heard that? Jungkook has extremely good RELATIVE pitch, it's a result of training and constant practice/singing, not something he was born with.
I remember you asking in your other video for other groups that we BTS fans like. Since you’re a rock music producer (and I grew up on rock as well), I think you’d really like the Japanese band One OK Rock! They just dropped a new single today too called Save Yourself. Cheers and enjoy the trip down the BTS rabbit hole…
Seconding One OK Rock! Their last album "Eye of the Storm" is a hidden masterpiece.
Interesting, informative reaction! I'm a fifty-something ARMY, and I love, love, love Jungkook's voice. I'm not crazy about this collab, though. If you want to hear songs that showcase Jk's talent, I recommend "Still With You" and his cover of "Falling." Gorgeous!
I’m gonna second someone else who recommend BTS Festa Room Live 2021 because of how incredible of a sneak peak into a lot of their bsides!
I was wondering if anyone would call or text that lol.
As an ARMY, I appreciate your honesty! It’s cool that you’re curious enough to check out BTS and their stuff. I know that you’re analyzing and not dragging songs. As a person who went from solely rock to BTS, I might recommend Fake Love. The music video has to do with their fictional storyline, so it might be a bit confusing tho. The behind the scenes of the MV is really cool too! There’s a lot that is practical that was surprising the first time I watched it. Thanks again for the reactions! I love seeing point of views from musicians.
‘You nice, keep going!’ 💜
Also, I noticed the intro stuff as well. Compared to dream theatre these intros are Definitely to the point!
And you’re saying Jungkook fine :)
hello. thank you for your explanations which are very clear although I am not at all a musician. I finally understood why Western songs bored me so much since I discovered kpop and more precisely BTS... we never get bored and their songs never seem too long to me whatever their style. I hope you'll agree when you hear more of their work. and thank you also for the fair and delicate way of expressing your opinions.
Exactly! Before discovering BTS, I had pretty much given up on pop music and hadn't paid serious attention to it in decades, thinking it was too far gone. BTS makes pop worth listening to.
even before start see the reaction THANK YOU for praising the ARMYss but BTS help us to be sooo awesome.... all credit goes to them....
the more you see them the more you will understand why ARMYs are soo dedicated and awesome...happy watching
if you do dive into the bts rabbit hole, their will come a time when you understand why Army is as amazing fan base as it is. There is always a deeper meaning if you take the time and experience BTS .💜
Charlie has true perfect pitch, he can tell what key an engine is whining in. He produced this song himself. He said he told JK (nickname) what he wanted, and that a week later he received "pristine and perfect" vocals from him. I suspect that JK has "undiagnosed" perfect pitch, I'm not sure how much technical knowledge he has in that area, he just knows - I'm supposed to sing THIS note and nails it. He started as a trainee when he was 13-14 years old - his BTS bandmates were at his middle school graduation! K-pop groups have assigned hierarchies within them - JK is the main vocalist (what we would call the lead, but the main is the top dog of that category and then there are multiple "leads") and then "subs" that can fill in as needed). He records guide vocals for the other members to learn their parts, he is credited with background vocals (they call them chorus) on most of their songs, also helps create and sing harmonies, often with his own stacked vocals, and he is also the ad-lib king. He is completely dedicated to perfecting his vocals, he even sings while running to practice keeping his voice stable while doing their vigorous dances.
In the Proof Anthology they just released, there was a third disk on CD only that is all demos and unreleased material - another gift to fans! There is a version of "Still With You" on there, written, produced and sang by Jungkook - but it's just his isolated vocals - stacked in some parts, and it's amazing. I geek out so hard at that kind of stuff!!! Footage of them in the studio is kinda scatterd around within their mountain of content. The "My Universe" making of mini documentary is probably the best out there - it's so awesome seeing them work with Chris (they are fast friends now!). Watch that and then the finished MV - it is an EPIC collab! Here is the documentary: ruclips.net/video/viM_c-Fc7sc/видео.html
JK is one of the best vocalists anywhere. He has been training since the age of 13 and 7 companies wanted him. I recommend his songs Euphoria and My Time to get a feel for his voice. I also recommend watching an intro to BTS video before getting too far into the songs. I think you will get more out of it if you know them a bit and what they do. There are 3 rappers and 4 vocalists. It is important to start with the right songs. It is easy to find their most popular ones. I would do Mic Drop, Fire, or ON Kinetic Manifesto next. They have a wide range of music in their catalog and their videos are very good.
yeees, as i am saying Army is the biggest flex of BTS and BTS is the biggest flex of Army
BTS has the best fashion sense you will see more when you go in Deep gradually
If you want to be smacked round the face by Junkook's voice listen to Falling (a Harry Style cover released a few months ago) and Still With You, a solo track by JK.
There is also a great mini documentary made by Ida S, 'Jungkook the main singer of BTS'. He talks about his time in BTS, his voice and how he is the centre of the group.💜
I love bts. I appreciate you being open to their talent. They are great and this song is a favorite of mine. If you haven’t watched Psy and suga. Please do. Your musical take-especially in terms of the distortion-was on point.

@@julieharris4700 Oh, good to know. Thanks, Julie! I'm still a fairly new ARMY and haven't checked out their Japanese songs except a few recent ones. Borahae!
The reason the Army is so fascinating is because BTS is the most intriguing, talented group of musicians (or human beings in a band because they go far beyond just being musicians) to come along in this generation. If you keep diving down the BTS rabbit hole, you'll "get it" sooner or later. Have fun.
When I watched the music video by myself i actually thought that the fast changes of shots were very annoying and frustrating! I couldnt focus on things properly and i really dont like it. Thats probably because BTS doesnt do this and i mainly watch their MV's. they also make kinda long songs for todays standards and thats because, as the lyrics in "yet to come" say, they dont care for trophies, titles, top100 or things like this that much. Of course they care but its not the main thing they focus on :)
True, BTS does not do it as he says.. I think army would get bored with this type of video
Aloha, 54 year old ARMY here! I also appreciate Charlie! Agree with many others ARMY with watching Room Festa Live 2021 next. I appreciate your insights and openness to explore BTS!
To find out more about who BTS are you should watch BTS member introduction by Taylor Nakamoto she did an amazing job making a guide to who bts are and what they contribute to the group
For a song + behind the scenes combo, I recommend My Universe by Coldplay feat. BTS. The song is excellent and the behind the scenes video is super sweet and you get to see them working in the booth
There is a behind the scenes of My Universe. Which they collabed with Cold Play, Chris Martin. So there's live, Music Video and behind the scene. 💜 💕 🎶
Fun fact: Both Charlie Puth and Jungkook have perfect pitch. Charlie Puth revelead in an interview that there's only three artists who have ever sent him perfect vocals that you can just "copy and paste" into the song with no work needed; Boyz II Men, James Taylor, and Jungkook.
The music was also made to "move" around the room (if you wear headphones or have proper stereo/surround sound) to match the lyrics, so the slightly "swervy" feel to the music supports the feeling of having music or a voice "stuck in your brain", if that makes sense. :)
We're a fandom worthy of BTS. We're great because they're great. We're impactful because they're impactful. We are special because they are special.
Thanks for your honest reaction! Enjoyed watching it :) Song recommendations... There's SO much. I'd HIGHLY recommend BTS Festa Room Live. It's kind of a live medley of different songs from debut until 2021!
Some of my personal BTS favourites:
- Dionysus
- Fake love
- DDAENG
- Black Swan
- On
- Pied Piper
- Mic Drop
- All 4 Cyphers
Looking forward to your next reaction! :)
Perfect Pitch. Apparently, this is what they have in common. They did a collab a few years ago, there's a live video of their performance.
BTS started out as hip hop band. Check out War Of Hormone one of their earlier songs 2014. ruclips.net/video/Hhph0_CdUHg/видео.html It's a hip hop track with strong rock guitar and drums. A good look back at the group before they became global stars.
This was interesting input, thank you. It's perfectly OK to analyse! I love this song, and I'm not much into pop pop usually. I think the vocals are so good and the song is catchy. The MV is so unserious, I love it. They performed one of Charlie's song together for an award show in 2018 "We Don't talk anymore" Jungkook has been a big fan of Charlie Puth for years, he also covered the song with Jimin. Charlie and Jungkook seem really happy to have this collab! Fingers crossed for a live perf!
Army💜💜💜💜 these boys have grown up into some of the most talented young men... Try ON : kinetic manifesto film
About picking favorites with regards to voices, it's actually fine since it's a personal taste. It doesn't mean one is lesser than the other. Like within BTS vocalists, I like Jungkook and Jimin's voice so much because of their unique and perfect tone for me, but for low tone, V's voice is my favorite and when it comes to high pitch, I love Jin's voice the best. You'll know what I'm talking about when you dive deeper in this BTS journey. :) Keep it up!
I am ARMY and don't use Tik Tok so only found Charlie Puth through BTS. Jungkook (pronounced Jung with a j from jam and exactly as it looks. The Kook part is said more like guk) did a collab with him before for Charlie's song We Don't Talk Anymore, and he has been a big fan of Charlie's for a long time. Love your music analysis and reaction 💜
ARMY here! Thanks for the great reaction, and for being so welcoming to us. This is a great song, and JK and Charlie have such a way of blending their voices... it's beautiful. I love this combination.
When he praised us "THE ARMY"..i blushed 😂 idkwhy
Love your content 💜
Recommendation: Not today and Jump!
Thanks. Your analysis is very educational and scientific. We learn everyday
I'm sure someone has pointed it out by now, but I just wanted to let you know, Charlie and Jungkook has perfect pitch.
Loving your reactions, you're doing great.👍💜
if you're interested in some behind the scenes i totally agree with others, Coldplay's my Universe and the documentary after that is the way to go! hope you enjoy exploring effects of our boys' hard work and talent!💜
Agree!
Also Jk’s behind the scenes of Left and Right!
that's really interesting about the intros getting shorter. It makes perfect sense but I never would have realized that was why!
That’s definitely Charlie Puth’s product placement 😂 and yeah they both are known for having perfect pitch. This is the second time they’ve performed together. Jungkook is a big fanboy of Charlie Puth’s. He and Jimin covered CP’s song “We don’t talk anymore” and then JK and CP performed it together live. Jungkook’s skills are (and have always been) incredible. He just gets better all the time. And his a cappella and live singing in general are absolutely incredible.
BTS reactions? You already got me as subscriber 🥰
Some of their other songs that are kinda a mix of rock and a bunch of other stuff are things like Dionysus and even Not Today.
Again, back in their early days they were doing a lot more 'hiphop' stuff, and I suggest you check a couple of those out. BTS has such a broad range of songs and a good look at some of their stuff, which i'm sure you have seen a lot of comments about, it the 2021 Festa Room Live.
There are videos of them in the recording studio, and funnily enough, during one of their variety shows 'In The Soop' the members came up with and Suga produced the theme song while they were supposed to be on vacation, as he brings all his equipment with them everywhere. I would love for you to keep checking them out and uncover the true beauty of BTS. trust me, it's worth it
i love your reaction, sir! i love hearing and learning new things about music production. would love to hear more thoughts and insights for BTS music.
It's not easy to be so dedicated to a group, unless the group itself is amazing! You need to get to know BTS to understand why we are the way we are as ARMY. Enjoy your BTS journey! I second the Coldplay & BTS documentary.
Blueberry Eyes by Max - It features a rap by Suga from BTS if you want something different again without it just being more BTS. My Universe (as someone mentioned) with Coldplay and BTS is also great.
We don't talk anymore Charlie Puth with JK, ON by BTS.....Puth played with BTS in Korea, there is a video of that also!
Behind the Scenes - how they are in the studio. The only one I've seen is with Chris Martin from Cold Play when they did "My Universe". Chris went to BTS's studio in SKorea to record the song. There's also a behind the scenes for the making of the video. I thought the recording of the song was more interesting.
Love your insight on how music and music videos are being made for RUclips. Thats something ppl dont know or talk about. You've earned a sub! And even though I don't create music, I could still tell this song was very "cookie-cutter" and simple. But!! I love JK and I am here to support. This is a song that you listen to like 20 times and then get tired. I would recommend listening to DDAENG by the BTS rappers and the behind the scenes video on how they produce the song. It gives a little insight into their creative process.
JK's cover of Falling is a really good look at his vocals :)
From a production/structural standpoint I think you would really enjoy hearing some of BTS's more complex tracks like Dionysus, ON, Dis-Ease, Telepathy, Spring Day, Stay Alive and Outro: Tear (this one is a rap line track but has beautifully layered production). They're pretty free in their work from the normal/predictable formats and structures of pop. And listening to how they weave through all their vocals & rap is just impressive.
Both have perfect pitch. Also, Jungkook does the guide tracks for BTS.
For the name of Jungkook : the J is like dj and the G and the K has similar pronunciation, just between the both. You have to make a sound not really like a G but not really like a K, just between.
So it's like "djunggook"
But you can just say JK instead if it's more comfortable for you ;-)
Jungkook has a few BTS's songs credited to his name. Magic Shop, Your Eyes Tell, Film Out are one of his works.
Hey! Just saying something, dont be afraid to not like a song! I understand some people will be mad over it, but its honestly extremely normal.
BTS has a HUGE discography with so many different genres and you're welcomed to explore them till you find something that pleases your personal taste (Like: say some songs you like and we can give you similar stuff made by BTS). But it can also happen that you don’t actually truly vibe with anything and, yk, happens!! Dont worry
I get what you mean, it is a simple and predictable song, but some people (me) like it when it's not that complicated. Still fun and easy to the ears. I honestly love some bts songs that are wayyy more complex, but we can have a diverse taste in music, just like with food.
I really enjoyed your video!! Very nice, i hope you can make more :)
Thanks for looking into the BTS/Army phenomenon Borahae! 💜 enjoy the ride! Both talented artists/musicians in a collab is always a treat 🤭 learning so much from you!
jungkook is great at picking notes up right away. He's sung acapella or "karaoke-style" many times on the app VLive and his voice is insane
highly recommend his latest vlive video if you want to give it a shot!
A song that in my opinion required lots of skill by Jungkook is Stay Alive, which i think you could appreciate and is produced by another member of BTS, SUGA
Jungkook also produced some BTS songs!!
As a non music industry type person, I think you would enjoy how FAKE LOVE by BTS is set up. I believe that’s a song that does not follow a pop formula. Thank you for all the musical knowledge 💜
Hello Blake! I came here for more information. First, you're pronouncing his name well. The J actually pronounced as 'ch' sound but it's okay to say as 'j' he uses his name JK sometimes. If it's feel better, you can use as JK too shorter and safer version. 😂
And yes, both Charlie and Jungkook have perfect pitch.
I love your reaction! Please keep going, i'll be watching you! 💁🏻♀️
Subscribed! I hope you continue to do BTS reactions because I really appreciate all the musician insight- also very interesting what you said about intros being shortened/non-existent because of tik tok. haha I kind of hate how tik tok dictates...everything now.
