    Bruce you do great sewing videos. PLEASE do more. I have a Cowboy 3200 on the way and you do some of the best vids. Please continue to do more. Maybe some adjusting the machines stitch length etc would be awesome. fine tuning the machine.

    Bruce, another great video and tutorial. I am unable to use a foot pedal operated machine as I have drastic Neuropathy in my legs (basically I have no feeling or neural feed back from my feet or legs below the knee), so I do all of my stitching by hand. I have never made a guitar strap before, but my brother-in-law is a musician and has asked me to make one for him. Do you have a basic pattern that you work from? If so could you provide me with said pattern or at least basic measurements to experiment with?
    Thank you so much for the inspiration and knowledge that you pass on to all of us, and keep up the great work!

    Hi Bruce. I'm an amateur and I can stitch by hand very well, but sometimes I need machine stitch. I have cloth making sewing machine , but can't sew little thicker leather. Do you know , which is the cheapest machine do reasonable jobs?

    Hi Bruce - great tutorial. I recently purchased an old Japanese cylinder arm machine and am learning how to use it. I noticed that you did not do a reverse stitch to start, but just overstitched. Do you have to do anything other than centering the loop to make sure the stitch doesn't come undone?
    Most of the leather I use is chrome tanned rather than veg tan. The chrome tanned leather is much softer than veg tan. Anything I should do differently on chrome tanned leather?

      Doug Anderson With the thinner leather it just takes a little practice to develop a feel of how to sew it.
      I do use the reverse stitch on some things, but most of the time I just overstitch two to three stitches.
      Thanks for watching Doug.

    hi Bruce, I have noticed that a lot of walking foot machines do leave a mark on vegetable tanned leather. As a veg tan you wont be able to get rid of these marks so I was wondering at what range ( model and price wise) do we get lighter footed machines capable of great stitch with little or no mark. Many thanks, Lukas

      That is a good question. I think the higher end machines with a larger pressure foot might be the best thing. It would be good to talk to a machine expert at the Weaver Leather Company and visit with them about this. I know my machine has a small pressure foot and it does leave a track on the leather.

    Does your double foot leave a line in the leather? On my 4500 i have backed the foot tension all the way out and still leaves a line in the leather. Is worst using just a left or right foot. Any ideas?

      Hi Don, just as a matter of interest, did you ever resolve the problem of the pressor foot leaving a line in the leather? as it happens on my machine slightly.

    May I ask why you decided to get the cowboy over the cobra ?

    • @cheaneysaddles
      @cheaneysaddles  9 лет назад +1

      Michael Monk I have had my machine for a while now and at the time I got mine I heard it was hard to get a Cobra and I could get the CB-4500 in a week or so and that is why I got it. I needed a leather sewing machine fast. Since then my brother has purchased two Cobras and they are super nice machines and sew real fast. Here is a review I did of Phillips Cobra ruclips.net/video/2-lNqkGElcU/видео.html #leathersewingmachine
