I bought the programmer and cable from chipsetpro , my question is , do you have to modify the programmer CH341A to supply 3.3V , or it is already done ? Please help
If you have the CH341A programmer with the black colored PCB, it will need to be modded. If you have the green PCB one that says version 1.7, you don't need to, you just need to make sure that the voltage switch is in the correct position.
doing the search I see $svs come in in another location also 59250 (bunch of rows) and 59450 (one line) should I edit that line too. where is the serial# stored?

Please be warned: that model of the CH341A programmer has a design flaw that puts 5V through the BIOS chip, not 3.3V. You may get away with using it and not frying the chip, but you are taking a risk.
You can get the same result without even opening the MacBook. Take it to Apple store and for some money they remove the lock using software they request from Apple for your machine. It's a nobrainer.
@@blixtgo they only do this if you can provide direct proof of purchase from Apple. If you've lost that or it's a used / donated laptop, you're out of luck.

i just went to ebay and ordered it for 49.99 us plus 16 dollars shipping from lithuania. could desolder chip but this is way easier.
