- After spending the winter rebuilding this Suzuki PV50 EPO Minibike with modified RM80 2-stroke Engine, I share with you the first start.
I hope you enjoyed this video, if you are new here please subscribe, and don't forget the thumbs up!
Thanks for watching.
Funky seeing these outside of Finland. Pretty huge culture these small bikes have here, allthough they were not EPOs, just base model PV50s.
Yeah it’s crazy how big the following there is!
@kanggoo57 and they are too OVERpriced in Finland.
@ Yeah theyve gone up in price for no aparrent reason. People have restored these from really broken bikes, so "having less PV`s than 2015 or so" is a complete lie. There are more PVs registered right now than 2015.
@@digestivex7572 @kanggoo57 Their prices have gone up, but it's just a matter of supply and demand. They were really plentiful in 80's and 90's, even in early 00's but then their popularity started to fade. Now people who rode them as children have time and money for nostalgia trips and are buying ones that haven't been destroyed by junkyards or overly eager kids tuning them beyond repairability.
I can smell this video. Cant beat a 2-stroke!
Haha I feel that way when watching similar vids. Smellavision 😂😭
Congrats bro! I can relate what you feel at the moment! 🎉
Thank you man! Just happy it started fine, after realising my small mistake 😅
Could you throw in some stats later on that how many views for this video came from Finland?
Ainaki minä😂 heti piti klikata
Nättiä!
The demographics show 30% Finland right now 🤓
Finland is full of Suzuki PVs. Factory modified models were imported between 1981 and 2000s EPO model has different exterior. Someone here has PV with GT 125 engine
hienosti naukasee
Very cool! I watched this build from the start to finish in tiktok and its very cool to see this bike run
Thank you 🙏
Greetings from Finland!
😎👊🏻
That bike revs so nice and clean.
I have a 1982 Suzuki TS 125 ERZ. I don't know how the hell me and my dad managed to even find that, i'm so glad to have it.
That’s a very cool bike. They fetch good money here in the UK
Sounds crispy. Nice work
Nice bike mate!
Great video and what a awesome bike! You got a new follower. 👍These PV50's looks so cool but sadly they are very rare and hard to find today. I got a 1982 Suzuki TS50 ER and 2000 Suzuki FZ50 now and if i can find a PV50 i hope i can get one some day.
Thank you man! I’m guessing you’re in Sweden or Norway?
@tubedarren Yes you're right i live in Norway 😊
I had Suzuki PV 50 and i live on Finland
Bro i have waited for this so so long
👌🏼
I have a Suzuki Pv 80cc and it really has some power
Cool.. i built one many years ago, they are MAD!!
That’s the idea!! 😅
Sexy bike !! I’m super impressed and I have been watching for months. . Fantastic videos and very funny and professional!! Keep up the good work Darren 😍😍😍
lähtee ku luoti aseesta ja kiertää ku manne veroja
Is this a Finnish expression?!
@ yes
@parsakaalieioohyvää 😭
parsakaali on ihan ok
@parsakaalieioohyvää parsakaali on paras kasvis.
I bet it’s fast as @@@@👍
I hope so 😎
Soo' That's! On nice Mini Mofa & the right Engine.
Cheers mate!!
Mad lil machine
@@gymbruh1824 that’s the plan 👊🏻😎
These little fellas are really cool bikes, I have 2 of these (Finnish import so not exactly the same tho), 1985 and 1988, the 85 one is bone stock, while my "daily", the 88 has a modified DS80 engine with a spicy KTM SX85 pipe on it. (don't worry i do still have the original engine for it aswell and i will eventually restore it, just gotta rebuild the engine first)
Sounds really cool. 👌🏼 I always keep the original engines too good choice
Yes we got lots of these here in Finland. Pv has a Rm 80 bodom end from factory. You only need to swap 80cc sylinder 80cc piston, bigger carb and better exhaust. And voila. These things have lots of names in here😄
The EPO engine is different to the PV50, 5 speed, more hp and different spark plug/head at least. But anyhow I fitted the RM80 and love it 😎👊🏻
Peussi pevetti sutsuki peevee
you should get ignitech ignition for this
Thanks but I’ve got HPI 2TEN
@@tubedarren nice! i have HPI too on my pv :)
Great vid!🎉
Thanks!
Wait, what? These actually exist outside of Finland? 🤯
Only the EPO! But wasn’t released here in the UK, just Japan and some parts of Asia. This is an import
The Rm 80, you’re engine came out off is now running with a Rm 135 👍 The build is on Doghouse customs on RUclips 😎
That’s it, I recall you mentioning them. I’ll check it out now 👌🏼
@@paulshortland408 I’ve just seen you in it! I’m going to watch the series. Can I have the 135 next? 😅😭
We actually have it running better in the next video coming out soon 👍
@ what year exactly is the RM80?
@ 1981 Rm80 x 👍
Kiukkune... 😁
Pevestuikkeli!
Translate not working on this one!!
You cant translate that it doesnt really mean anything.@@tubedarren
Id put a bit more 2 stroke oil in that mix mate ha ha. When they said 50/1 it's meant to be 50 petrol
Haha it’s 20:1!
@tubedarren I know you need it to be real rich on brand new or rebuilt engines m just for the first run. Let it runnlow revs as possible and keep her cool. Heat up cool down does wonders. No more than 10 minutes a time until she's done 500 careful miles
Missä suomalaiset?
Tää trendaa nyt suomituben etusivulla. Täällä ollaan
Everywhere on this build! 🇫🇮
What’s suomitube?
@@tubedarren RUclips at Finland. A lot of Finnish people have had this video recommended on their front page of youtube. Congrats?😅
@ brilliant!! I’m happy about that 😎 thanks
Nice!
No burnout??
hey i enjoy your Suzuki pv50 builds they are awesome! my ds80 only starts on gas +oil sprayed in the carb then runs fine. i redid reeds and piston rings. what do you think it would be i thought you'd be the guy to ask. Thanks from canada
@@marshallkaufman3123 clean/try another carb
Soon come!! 🫣
At some point around -15 and -20c° it was a warm up for the rider to start the PV, it always starts, but might just take awhile 😂
Kyllähän se kuskin pitää myös lämmetä.
I never thought about that, in Finland you must have troubles with cold starts 🥶
The ebikes of the 80s....
So much cooler
Shame about tax, insurance and licences.... thats the country law issue though, just like our own ebike laws that our absolutely ridiculous...
Great
What do you think about a meet up for a Octavia comparison video? My 2020 VRS petrol and your diesel VRS. Could be a cool video.
Sure man great idea!
@tubedarren I've sent you an email mate
Very, very nice indeed! Awesome sound in that JHK pipe. And everything is working 👍🏻
Thank you! And it’s great really nice sound that pipe!
Great👍 video did I sell you the Rm engine 🤔
@@paulshortland408 YES!! 👏🏼 good spot man!! How did you find this?! 😅
It’s just popped up on RUclips and I recognised the bike straight and you 👍
Amazing man! Honestly. The world works in funny ways. Very grateful to find it I was 👊🏻
Please tell the story behind this moped and how you got into these
There’s a full video coming soon 🔜. Stay subbed and you should see it 😎
That’s cool, but I struggle finding a normal size bike I can fit on.
6ft 8?
kova
why it sounds like the conrod bearings have a lot wear in them?, so much metallic noise... you said it was rebuilt?
All 2-strokes sound like that. Everything including the crank was rebuilt with new SGP parts
What’s up with the plastic wrap on the tires?? Afraid to get them dirty??
@@GPgundude of course I’m petrified, who actually gets their tires dirty???
I was almost sure that the exhaust was gianelli, but its not. I own a 1990 PV. Owned for 20 years and I dont think I'll ever gonna sell it.
Great little bikes. I’ll try to never sell this. And the exhaust is a work of art. JHK done well
Jesus did you mix enough 2 stroke with that petrol?
20:1 these little beasts need! And don’t forget it’s just been reassembled so has even more oil in engine 😅
@tubedarren i always run them in at 120ml to 5 litres mate.
@@MrDogtown22 in the video there was only 2 litres in that can!
@@tubedarren ha jesus! Don't forget to take the front pipe off and tip all the oil out of it!
Where did you get this rm motor. I have tried to find similar but no luck yet.
I got lucky online 😎
did u change the crank bearings?
Yes, and all seals etc
How do you get insurance on a bike like this? and a ballpark figure of cost please
Why plastic on tyres
Makes it go faster 😆
I can see your air filter will be issue here.
Miksi
Why?
@@tubedarren yep im askinh the same but in finnish
Probably thinking either the carb will want upjetting, or worried about the rain 🤷♂️
@@tubedarren maybe the upjetting because the rain isn't that bad
I was first😊
Bet you say that to all the girls.
Ei kai noin väljä kone lähe käymään
It’s not allowed out!! 😂
@tubedarren i had too suzuki pv 50 and 80cc engine..in year 1986😅it runs 110km/h
