Fun fact. Licasfilm digitised Natalie Portman’s voice for her scenes as queen Amidala in order to distinguish her from her scenes as Padmé. To keep the disguise more authentic.
@@twilightskiesx No, the beginning shots were Keira knightley, Natalie Portman doesnt have the british accent nor can she hit those deep tones, listen to her voice thats either a dubbed voice or idk it could be Keira knightley, all the intro scenes when there boarding the ship im almost positive are of keira knightley, she was 12 at the time, and when asked she actually thought she played Padme, because she remembers shooting dressed up so many times. But yeah, they were like 12, the english accented one was Keira Knightley. Unless you think that they taught Portmann how to speak with a UK accent at 12, wich i really doubt. But face closeup shots of her in the viceroy screen on there ship thats 100% Keira knightley you can tell by her face. Unless they dubbed the other girls voice over hers. Idk. But the english accent to me points it being more toward being Keira. Google how keira looked in like 2001, she has a wider face than the other girl, idk to me alot of the first shots look like kiera knightley.
It's odd that this look for Amidala is what was mostly associated with the character and used heavily in the marketing, yet it's only in one short scene.
I always find the conversation starting at 1:24 to be funny due to the abundance of words ending in "-ion". It almost sounds like they're rapping. Check the transmission! Communication disruption can only mean invasion. We must rely on negotiation. Negotiation? We've lost all communication! This is a dangerous situation. We're no match against the Federation. 🤣
I wish Natalie would have emoted a bit more. Having read the novelization, when Nute Gunray says that he doesnt know of any ambassadors, the novel remarks how Amidala furrowed her brow in concern and suspicion.
She intentionally made her voice sound like this in order to make herself seem more mature and commanding than her appearance would suggest both as to be taken seriously as Queen and so she can use her real normal voice whenever switches places with and disguises herself as one of her handmaidens in times of danger.
That was either Keira Knightleys voice or idk, that sounds nothing like natalie portmanns voice, she doesnt have those deep tones. Idk unless there using portmann, and dubbing someone elses voice over her. Or using Keira and just having her talk normally but maybe more mature deeper, they were only 12 so, you have to realize they were trying to and told to try to sound older then they are, wich makes my thinks the voices were maybe dubbed over or something idk. If you google up how she looked back in the early early 2000s, it makes more sense, some of those intro scene def look like keira knightley.
@@profo4544 She does have deep tones. Look at black swan for example. All women have wide ranges. See European women. In western cultures as well as some Asian cultures women are taught to use higher tones to sound more feminine.
She looks so awesome and regal. When I first saw this as a kid I almost fainted. I love how she uses her voice.

I like that how they representated Padme in this movie 😍😍😍😍😍

Honey, you don't know what saga you're in.
Facts.
Keira Knightly looked like a queen in this, she was only a teen but acted so well imo and the design of Sabe was excellent.
In this scene, this was Natalie Portman
Keira knightly only portrayed the queen when you see Padmé in Handmaids attire. So together on screen.
Here my dumbass was thinking you mixed up Natalie Portman with Kiera Knightley. TIL

@@profo4544 Lmao pls tell me you are joking... that’s literally Natalie Portman🤣🤣 And Natalie DOES do a British accent as Queen Amidala lmaooo
Everybody complained about these sequels but they're Shakespeare compared to what Disney keeps crapping out now.
Nah, prequels still suck

Really? Wow I didn't know that-
Wait so that means Han is like seventeen years older than Leia! Good thing she was in her early twenties when they fell in love.

As queen and leader of her people, she must be composed and regal at all times. The late Queen Elizabeth II was much the same.
That's not Natalie Portman, it's Keira Knightley.
Amidala's stoned off her ass lmao 🤣
No she’s not. Royalty tend to use blank expressions to not show fear when things happen.
I find her voice and dialogue so soothing. Is the voice a disguise or tradition? Did she use some space magic to make her voice change?
She made her voice as neutral as possible for her decoy, so that they sound the same if the decoy every makes a public appearance
She intentionally made her voice sound like this in order to make herself seem more mature and commanding than her appearance would suggest both as to be taken seriously as Queen and so she can use her real normal voice whenever switches places with and disguises herself as one of her handmaidens in times of danger.
