reading through these comments gets me frustrated so i have to speak up. i've known sam and rado since jr. high. they haven't changed in the slightest over the years. still very grounded and have endless creativity. contrary to speculation, sam nor anyone in the band does any drugs. except the pot. sam has always been a very skinny guy. the band tours for months on end in a van. vegas one night, san diego the next, etc. they work very hard to bring joy to your ears. appreciate it.
Thanks for this comment! I probably saw them five years ago as an opener for another band I was seeing. Didn't know them at all, but my pal told me we should go early and see them. They put on an awesome show! Music aside, it was an honest-to-goodness Rock Show. I could dig it. Last night ended up watching Tim Heidecker and Rado on What's in My Bag? And I was like "Oh yeah, Foxygen!" Had forgotten about them. Rado seemed very genuine, like a good dude. So, thanks for sharing your comment. No time for negative energy comments and I'm glad I haven't seen them. But when I saw them live, they seemed anything but put on. Sure, they have clear influences, but that doesn't mean they aren't solid and hard working and fun musicians.
Who does the mixing for them? Do they oversee it themselves? This song is masterfully orchestrated and mixed. I LOVE how there is a barely audible bass and, I think, the bass string on the guitar, playing throughout. It's such a subtle touch --- subtle undertones. Reminds me of some of Fleetwood Mac's songs. You can listen to some of their songs for years, and then listen for the first time with headphones and you hear faint, subtle undertones you NEVER had noticed before.
Sam and Rado are the most underrated geniuses of their time. I see them more as cinematic musical hyper-creative directors rather than a band. Everything they put into the public is very well thought out aesthetically. I wish they got more widespread appreciation.
I agree but star power was supposed to be the album they were supposed to get even better then 21st ambassadors but instead they regressed into their old recording style and it really hurt them. Instead of progressing they just kept doing what they did when they were kids and most people expect bands to get better but not here
I cant write negative words in regards to Foxygen. I love them and I wish something comes forward from the band, Love you Rado, Sam and Shaun. The music world knows you have it. May God give you the wisdom to be what you are so good at, producing music we love. Please gentlemen, we love you. Come together! Use every tool you have to come back stronger. More tunes more often.
I hate myself for LOVING this song. I listen to punk/screamo and when I heard this, it was hard to get through. Then later I found myself singing it, then looking it up again and loving it and I now have it on repeat
For everyone that thinks their so smart by saying "This is a copy of other 70's bands" Yeah no crap... that's what their going for. That's how all music is, everyone is inspired. And Foxygen did it right considering the sound fantastic.
wasn't really sure what I thought about this song when I first heard it, but as the day went on I found myself humming the tune and singing the chorus, cant wait for SP!!!
30 seconds into this song, I was convinced that this was a cover but with original lyrics. But I guess not? At least the group admitted in a Pitchfork interview that they often lift stuff from other artists' songs.
I immediately loved this song... Makes sense since I saw the light is one of my all time favourites. A great ear you have. Everyone is inspired by something and whatever mix of things this band was inspired by, they are just fantastic
In the morning when they found us And we woke up in the coconut wind How you took my hand and told me All the stories of the places you'd been And how you thought that I would make it Now you were the one for me, yeah [Chorus] How can you really love someone who can't love you How can you love someone you can't leave It's my fault, it's your fault too How 'bout you go and find somebody who can love you When I wake up in the morning How long until you roll in my dreams But how I learned not to care If you're not the story that's easily seized And how can you treat me so badly If you love me don't treat me so mean Cause I'm... darlin', politely asking Can't you see all the pain that I'm in It's gettin' pretty hard to make it That's all the time for me, and for you [Chorus] x4
The periodic table is full of other element names to tweak. What about Feelium? Whydrogen? Newterium? I'm having a problem coming up with a tweak on mendelevium, but I'll get back to you if I think of something. I do like these guys, though.
This is amazing Music - Most original sound since the 80"s! Absolutely Nothing can touch this sound. I was born in the early 60's and have not been impressed with anything in the past 25 years. I really want to listen to music again.
I saw Foxygen on "Letterman" Wednesday night 1/7/15 - their first network TV appearance - and they're awesome! Even Letterman was blown away. Sam France, their lead singer, jumps around like he's lighter than air. They're just great!
It was their look that hooked me in. I hadn't heard a lick of their music but I read an article about them in LA Weekly and saw some pictures of this manic lead singer. I knew I had to check them out.
james woody Did you love them? I read something about them the night I saw them on "Letterman" (because *he* was as blown away as I've ever seen him. Just like I was!) I can't remember a word of what or even where I read it, but I think these guys are going places. Their "Letterman" performance is on my channel or on "Letterman's Channel" on RUclips! Great comment, James!
Lady Suzette I think they're outstanding. I'd love to see them in concert. I don't even know if they've played San Francisco yet, but I'd definitely go to a show. (Chances are they probably have and I wasn't paying any attention and missed it. If they have, I'm sure they will be back)!
I saw this guy in concert in montreal, i was right next to do stage and he broke 1or 2 mics by smaching them on the ground. And pushed me while he was going into the crowd, this guy is sick in concert.
Rado looks so dreamy. Sam is getting unhealthier looking. I totally dig the lyrics. The sound is a little weak. I'll still dance to it. I still love them.
In the morning when they found us And we woke up in the coconut wind How you took my hand and told me All the stories of the places you'd been And how you thought that I would make it Now you were the one for me, yeah How can you really love someone who can't love you How can you love someone you can't leave It's my fault, it's your fault too How 'bout you go and find somebody who can love you When I wake up in the morning How long until you roll in my dreams But how I learned not to care If you're not the story that's easily seized And how can you treat me so badly If you love me don't treat me so mean 'Cause I'm darlin', politely asking Can't you see all the pain that I'm in It's gettin' pretty hard to make it That's all the time for me, and for you How can you really love someone who can't love you How can you love someone you can't leave It's my fault, it's your fault too How 'bout you go and find somebody who can love you How can you really love someone who can't love you How can you love someone you can't leave It's my fault, it's your fault too How 'bout you go and find somebody who can love you How can you really love someone who can't love you How can you love someone you can't leave It's my fault, it's your fault too How 'bout you go and find somebody who can love you How can you really love someone who can't love you How can you love someone you can't leave It's my fault, it's your fault too How 'bout you go and find somebody who can love you

mitch carter I’m glad no one does hard drugs, it’s a shame for talented folks to pass so young
They're the best band I discovered in the last 5 years. I'm glad to hear you speak about them so complimentary.
Thanks for this comment! I probably saw them five years ago as an opener for another band I was seeing. Didn't know them at all, but my pal told me we should go early and see them. They put on an awesome show! Music aside, it was an honest-to-goodness Rock Show. I could dig it.

glad this comment exists still for those of us that are late to the party.

This band deserves so much more ! I love them so much 💓 they're insanely talented. Pure genius!
You also deserve so much more

@@hippiecheezburger5457 nope, Star Power is a masterpiece. Reality is vicious
@@hippiecheezburger5457 thats the thing about opinions, everyone has one but that doesn't mean you're right or wrong. it just means yours suck
I've witnessed 3 minutes and 39 seconds of this band and I'm already in love.
they are the 21st century ambassadors of peace and magic
I cant write negative words in regards to Foxygen. I love them and I wish something comes forward from the band, Love you Rado, Sam and Shaun.

I LOVE this song. It needs more air time ! It really moves, the words are very good, it is very lively, has a lot to offer and get you moving !!!
It’s basically Todd rundgrens I saw the light reworked
I hate myself for LOVING this song. I listen to punk/screamo and when I heard this, it was hard to get through. Then later I found myself singing it, then looking it up again and loving it and I now have it on repeat

Listen to Todd Rundgren's "I Saw The Light" and this side by side. The resemblance is uncanny, and I truly respect it!
Wowww! It is

This video is the most convincing argument for leather jeans I have ever seen.
I love this song! Opens like some grand Todd Rundgren ballad and the singer jumps in making it a very cool song for now. I gotta dance.
Been playing this track everyday since it came out. CAN'T GET ENOUGH YO.
Brilliant song this band just keeps getting better...dancers are crazy good lead singer rocks it beautiful beautiful beautiful
Brutally Foxy. Glad these dudes could put their differences aside and keep pumping out amazing music.
They way he moves in this video makes me think of like 80's Mick Jagger lmao
Jake listen to Follow the Leader or Make It Known by Foxygen. He sounds exactly like Jagger in these tracks
This jam is delicious.
Maybe the best song they've ever put out.
Sam and Rado are both my type😍 Love creative minds.
Who gives a fuck what's your type? As if you're some kind of price. Be worried if you're a creative mind's type tbh.
Someone tell that dude to never cut his hair and be a trendy. That kid is all rock n roll, prance around with authority!!
that gold jeans and sequins outfit is the hottest outfit i have ever seen in my entire life wtf
Ah yes! The look Jonathan gave at 2:55- ugh I melted! 😍😂
Finally! Triple whammy: Album, single and tour announcement all at the same time. been waiting months for this.
I like this, I also like how they show us the chords to the song :) 2:33
In the morning when they found us
And we woke up in the coconut wind
How you took my hand and told me
All the stories of the places you'd been

How can you really love someone who can't love you
How can you love someone you can't leave

How long until you roll in my dreams

Can't you see all the pain that I'm in
It's gettin' pretty hard to make it
That's all the time for me, and for you

Such a sick band name.Dang why didn't I think of that...

Perfectionist musicians should listen to this as an eample of what you can get away with.
This video totally suits the song... Totally.
Best pop song I have heard in decades.
i love how they have the chords of the song on the whiteboard
CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF THIS
This song sounds like it could have been made in the 60s. I love it!
the moment has finally come!!
Saw these guys live in Seattle, sounded like heavy metal and some moshing took place. What happen to peace and magic ?
some serious Todd rundgren vibes here, love it.
BIG TIME!
Wanna argue there's some Big Star influence here too.

somebody call Todd Rundgren, his sound is back, or maybe it never left!
it's straight up todd rundgren! amazing song
I keep expecting to hear "It was late last night,I was feeling something wasn't right"
I saw the light
Todd Rundgren should get royalties.
A Wizard, A True Star : The soundtrack of my childhood, and because of that(and Steely Dan) I am awesome
Is anyone else mesmerized when he jumps on in...
This song hits me so hard.
Love the flying side kick!!!
I saw Foxygen on "Letterman" Wednesday night 1/7/15 - their first network TV appearance - and they're awesome! Even Letterman was blown away. Sam France, their lead singer, jumps around like he's lighter than air. They're just great!
Yeah, but can even walk in the shadow of Mick Jagger, who is in his 70's and jumps around like he has zero gravity?
Donna Manning out with the old, in with the new...
It was their look that hooked me in. I hadn't heard a lick of their music but I read an article about them in LA Weekly and saw some pictures of this manic lead singer. I knew I had to check them out.

Take a moment to appreciate the fact that Sam France looks better in a crop top than 90% of girls
this feels like a 70's song
This song has great flow..
Badass tune
The live version blows that awayyyy
around 1:45 , I love how Rado looks into the camera and basically says "see what i have to deal with". lol
Rado looks so dreamy. Sam is getting unhealthier looking. I totally dig the lyrics. The sound is a little weak. I'll still dance to it. I still love them.

Great song! Damn Foxygen's new album rocks. After "We are the 21st Cent...." album i didnt expect it could get much better!
I wish I had someone look at me the same way the keyboardist looks at the camera. Damn.
He was looking at u all along, bbgrl 💖 Lol
That “keyboardist” is Jonathan Rado 1/2 of Foxygen - who writes and produces all the music
@secretaccountyay yes im definitely Johnathan Rado using a secret second account to comment on youtube posts
@Your Uncle Dave lmfao love it
I love this song, and I drink it until I'm drunk!!!
"till i saw the light in your eyes in your eyes "
What a cutie behind the synth!
Cornelius Bros and Sister Rose would be proud. Truly addictive.

I love sassy rock n roll.
the looks rado gives in this video are priceless, the jim halpert of indie music videos

2:36 coolest guitar tone I’ve heard in a long time.
Lead singer is looking very Christopher Owens in this video.
Ojalá vengan alguna vez a Argentina.
i love it!!!
Love it! Thank you Foxygen.
Fantastic song! The track sounds like it's been recorded straight outta the 60s. I just wish the vocals were a little louder. Either way, I can't wait to get the album and see these dudes live in October!!
This was basically recorded in 1972 by Todd Rundgren with a slower tempo
I love them so much 😍
"How can you really love someone who can't love you.
How can you love someone you can't leave
It's my fault, it's your fault too.
How 'bout you go and find somebody who can love you."
I couldn't help but think that Sam looks like Christopher Owens in this video. Especially with the cropped top
Que Genial!! Foxygen is Back !!!
Damn this is fun
always fab :)
Awesome !!!
this is so good
Killer song, Rado looks like the actor Jackie Earle Haley
did he eat Ariel Pink, or what?
