There's a Tim and Eric interview where they start out goofing and making fun of the interviewer as usual, but the interviewer is actually really good and respectful so they eventually drop their act and give a really good interview.
I believe Best Boy is talking about T&E's interview with The Sound of Young America. They start off making lots of goofs and spoofs, but after a few minutes they become quite serious.
NOpe nope Im laughing at his voice in a "pavlov's dog" way. Like, he doesn't have to say anything funny anymore. I just associate his voice with the best comedy ever and am waiting for a punchline (that might not even happen) So weird.
+ilikeost Even if that is the case, I welcome it. I grew bored with the whole Tim and Eric, 'awkwardness as humor with no real punchline' bit, years ago. Glad to see him expanding his horizons.
haha. just because all you know of Tim is his performance, doesn't mean he as an ordinary, non-performing person is "just too vanilla". he's a human being with thoughts and feelings, and seems to be a particularly nice and intelligent one. don't besmirch the guy's humanity
Since they are talking about Bacharach in the past tense I googled him to make sure he's still alive (he is) and got a bunch of article about Bacharach being sued by his dog sitter whose fingers were bitten off by Bacharach's dog a few days ago. They used a skin graft from his groin to reattach the fingers.
This is the only one of these interviews where I know and like all their picks. Usually it's a blind organist from Hungary and only 6 copies were pressed before the Russians invaded, etc.
I’m so glad you put a hip name to this genre so i have something less embarrassing to say when friends make the mistake of giving me control of the bluetooth & ask what I’m playing
I feel like I'd never be able to casually hang out with Tim because I'd be constantly paranoid that he's fucking with me. He could have the most sincere, meaningful conversation with me and all I'd be doing is analyzing all of his mannerisms to figure out if he's pullin' a goof.
I thinks it's clear that this is genuinely who he is when promoting something that is serious, such as this. Then again. he could be mellowing out as a person.
Is this the first time somebody has been invited back a second time to do "What's In My Bag?"? Tim did one of these with Eric although of course it was entirely comedic. As a side-note; this is episode contains the most normie selections I've seen in this series besides the one RuPaul did.
+ShockTheseTrees We've rarely had repeat guests since there are so many new people we'd like to bring in, however Mayer Hawthorne has been in an episode solo and as part of Tuxedo, Peanut Butter Wolf was in an episode with Michael Rapaport (focused on A Tribe Called Quest) and then in a solo episode. We also have an upcoming episode with Saul Williams who was in an episode in our very first season (8 years ago!). Likewise, we have an update coming with Duran Duran (whole band this time). One last one that comes to mind, Homer from the Dap-Kings and Dan Auerbach have each done episodes and are in an upcoming episode in their band together, The Arcs. It seems that the longer the series goes on the more opportunities we have to cross paths with some of our favorite artists again.
"The main enemy is, on the economic level, capitalism and the market society; on the philosophical level, individualism; on the political front, universalism; on the social front, the bourgeoisie; and on the geopolitical front, America." Benoist
Love both these beautiful baby boys. This is the first interview with Jon I've seen, after listening to 21st century ambassadors of peace and magic id expect him to be some crazed psych fuck machine, seems like a chill guy though!
"eid" were too close, so I thought it was Tim Hecker, so I clicked it and I was like "Fuck" but then, I realized he was Tim Heidecker, and I was cool lol.
Its also a sin to refer to Pink Floyd when they did not have Roger in the band..I call them "David Gilmour and the rest holding onto what little credit they can"
this has gotta be the most subdued and sincere tim's ever been in an interview
listen to the WTF podcast, it's great
There's a Tim and Eric interview where they start out goofing and making fun of the interviewer as usual, but the interviewer is actually really good and respectful so they eventually drop their act and give a really good interview.
The Best Boy link?
I believe Best Boy is talking about T&E's interview with The Sound of Young America. They start off making lots of goofs and spoofs, but after a few minutes they become quite serious.
***** This gentleman is correct
It's weird seeing Tim be so sincere
I know I was waiting for the interview to fall apart.
lol my thoughts exactly. I checked the comments to see if anyone else felt the same.
Hi I Follow Yuo On Twitter
I can watch Tim Heidecker do literally anything and be entertained.
NOpe nope Im laughing at his voice in a "pavlov's dog" way.
Like, he doesn't have to say anything funny anymore. I just associate his voice with the best comedy ever and am waiting for a punchline (that might not even happen)
So weird.
This is literally the most 'real' video I've ever seen of Tim. Nice. :D
Boolseye!
Yeah. He's certainly a lot easier to listen to when he's not bitching about "Donald Drumpf".
100%
Watch office hours Live
I didn't know much about foxygen before watching this video and for a second I was really convinced that Tim was part of the band.
+TheMooph Sorry about that. It's definitely kind of confusing without that context...
Tim looks really beautiful in this lighting
I could listen to Tim talk about albums for days.
tim has goofed so many interviews for years , its like boy who cried wolf, i aint gonna believe a word he says
Hats off on that pink floyd mug animation.
You must not have ever watched Tom Goes To The Mayor.
It's refreshing to see Tim Heidecker taking a break from the shtick.
Marc Maron Tim and Eric interview
+dogbite I still don't know if this is just a very, very ambitious comedy bit. It's just too vanilla.
+ilikeost Even if that is the case, I welcome it. I grew bored with the whole Tim and Eric, 'awkwardness as humor with no real punchline' bit, years ago. Glad to see him expanding his horizons.

dogbite I love Tim's interview shtick :)
Lmfao sincere Tim is so funny. I was dying when they were taking about the Bob Dylan painting
one of the best episodes because they discuss the records quite in depth
Since they are talking about Bacharach in the past tense I googled him to make sure he's still alive (he is) and got a bunch of article about Bacharach being sued by his dog sitter whose fingers were bitten off by Bacharach's dog a few days ago. wow
The kinks Arthur is one of the most underrated and under appreciated albums of all time. Props to Tim
absolutely. Good Old Boys too. Tim has great taste.
*Seinfeld bass*

"kinks over beatles and stones for me"
Agreed. The Kinks in general are so underrated
What an amazing collection of records for inspo and a couple of beauty lads
Fantastic albums all around! Thanks...
Lol that reaction when Jonathan says kinks over Beatles and stones... priceless
I found it so adorable how similar all their selections were
This is the only one of these interviews where I know and like all their picks. Usually it's a blind organist from Hungary and only 6 copies were pressed before the Russians invaded, etc.
Imma gonna go find a copy of that Zevon book.
tim likes dadcore
I want to meet that dad.
FraKctured i want to touch that dads mustache
I’m so glad you put a hip name to this genre so i have something less embarrassing to say when friends make the mistake of giving me control of the bluetooth & ask what I’m playing
Great Job!
I feel like I'd never be able to casually hang out with Tim because I'd be constantly paranoid that he's fucking with me. He could have the most sincere, meaningful conversation with me and all I'd be doing is analyzing all of his mannerisms to figure out if he's pullin' a goof.
I’m happy they are friends, there is definitely a mutual admiration.
That Bruce Springsteen album cover, the picture was taken by my friends dad in his childhood kitchen in South Jersey.
THIS Tim I would HAPPILY hang out with. :-)
Damn he and my 70yo dad would get along perfectly
Tim Heidecker, if you hadn't already won me over with your hilarity, you had to go and pull out an album by The Band. Love it.
haha at 7:28 Tim is just like "yeeaaaah, no."
of course the Foxygen guy loves that Kinks record, their debut sounds like a Kinks tribute record
yes!
Good ole Rado.
These guys agree on like every sentence. A like that.
I still think the Big Pink album cover is one of the best ever.
I agree. Also that’s sitar, not a poor depiction of a guitar.
i can't tell when hes for real
+andrew kim his life has become a performance art piece
I thinks it's clear that this is genuinely who he is when promoting something that is serious, such as this. Then again. he could be mellowing out as a person.
3:46 yeah, this is you and THAT'S A FUCKING ELEPHANT, MAN. I laughed so hard.
jonathan is really cool

The editing on this was hilarious

Were you guys pissed at all about the first one? Haha. They made fun of the show so hard.
I rewatch that one all the time. There irreverrance even in the face of such a great show is very funny to me.
Two copies of 30 seconds to mars in case one scratches lol I am dying just thinking about that.
ShockTheseTrees This is a joke, you stupid fuck...
that's shrek for ya
"The main enemy is, on the economic level, capitalism and the market society; on the philosophical level, individualism; on the political front, universalism; on the social front, the bourgeoisie; and on the geopolitical front, America."
Benoist
one voice, two people.
Did they still the records?
Why the security paraphilia around the CD?
Still trying to work out if Tim is for real here or somehow pulling a layered gag.
Dude on the right has massive vocal fry.
Mumbo Slick what is vocal fry?
Tristan WH that was a good explanation
OMG liking something millions of people like, how generic of them. How dare they not live up to my expectations!
tim is on point about that pink floyd cover
Fuck yea THE BAND
Find it a bit weird how in tune these two guys are with each other 4:00
i really thought this was gonna be a video of tim showing us what he carries in his purse every day
this is the first time i have seen tim somewhat serious
I expected Tim to be a little more avant garde and underground in his music selection considering his off the wall comedic stylings
wow so this is what tim is really like.
“‘You’ve got a Friend’ starts playing, and all these little kids come running in on acid
Tim Heidecker is a real person? All this time I thought it was a typo made from Tim Hecker's name.
Love both these beautiful baby boys. This is the first interview with Jon I've seen, after listening to 21st century ambassadors of peace and magic id expect him to be some crazed psych fuck machine, seems like a chill guy though!
The best editor lol
i knew he was cool when he whipped out that randy newman album
Division Bell is a freakin' awesome Pink Floyd album.

Some people say that sometimes, people debate about whether (or not) Pink Floyd's secret top hidden location is in said grassy field. The dividing bel

Its also a sin to refer to Pink Floyd when they did not have Roger in the band..I call them "David Gilmour and the rest holding onto what little credit they can"
These two are great together. Underrated duo. But Beatles > Kirks
