I know everyone says this about their favorite bands but I feel like Foxygen is super underrated. I may just be one of them ❤🥹🥰 thank you KEXP for being a fantastic foray into music. I hope one day I may be on there
This is great for all us young folk who grew up with the 70's burned in our brains via mom and dad I dig it some serious 70's todd rundgren vibes maybe a bit of fleetwood mac
This is really great watching these guys grow more in a couple years, than most artist ever grow. If you dont get it, go wank somewheres else.....trolls. And it's a little early to be getting nostalgic about foxygen's music from a two years ago, nostalgia is a disease.
All of you who are saying the backup singers are out of key and that this is a bad performance are insane. You must be used to hearing cookie cutter bullshit artists who lipsync and fake their live performances. What you're hearing here is a real rock and roll show with soul and feeling. So fucking what if somebody misses a note here and there. Are you all so jaded that you can't hear the well thought out melodies, solid drumming, impressive keyboard work, and great musicianship in general that made this performance fantastic? You all clearly haven't been to many rock shows. I feel sorry for all of you who can't appreciate good music. Maybe the Justin Bieber section of RUclips is more your speed.
The true test of a group --- how do they sound live? Can they perform their songs differently from the studio performances, yet make them sound fresh and original and not stale. Great stuff.
the long haired, blonde dude from "Dazed and Confused" on drums, Janis Joplin on lead guitar, the bum from "Happy Gilmore" on keyboards. Courtney Love's character in "The People Vs. Larry Flynt" on lead vocals...just to name a few. quite an eclectic mix of characters, really.
I wish the recorded version of 'Hang' was as epic as this version. I like the one on the record but it's no way as nice as this. Same goes for 'Coulda Been My Love and 'Cannibal Holocaust'. The performance here is like way tighter, I think the vocals are more soulful and powerful here too
Vocals need reverb, back-up and main. Otherwise amazing performance. Holy shit, a double album!? Can't wait! My only gripe about the last two albums were they were too short! Liking the new tracks.
I love the last two albums, this new one however I feel could have been decent if they were a little more selective on the song choice. It was too long, and only a few songs actually seemed decent.
iTzKaiBUD i agree. i'm a huge fan but i think several songs could have been scrappers that were added just for the sake of saying they were releasing a double LP.
It's one of those "either you get the beauty of the madness or don't." When i went through it the first two times it sounded like nonesense. After a couple of more tries, I got it. His drug abuse, their changing sound, and the use of more instruments. When i say them live the lead singer was TRASHED, but they still put on a great show.
fernando perdomo this has been said. I find them as a mix of everything. Live, I'm a fan of the punk explosion of 'We are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace and Magic". I saw them twice and it was beyond awesome. Made me feel like I was in CBGB in the 80's.
one time I told Sam this was an awesome performance and he said “really? I didn’t think it sounded that good” and I said “hell no, that session was fucking amazing!” everyone complaining doesn’t have a clue how hard it is to sound this tight, and mixing and performing with an 8 person band doesn’t make it easier
This is most definetly one of the all time greatest performances on K.X.P. and the back up singers make the show that much better! Who cares what a few tone deaf top 40 snobs say or think! This show is awesome!

***** Yeah, I'm very surprised by the almost uniformly negative or so-so reviews. I was way off on the P4K 9.5 prediction. I thought at least they would get it, but I guess their decline continues. I think it's the best album of 2014.
i don't like the backing vocal girls, shaun and rado used to do really nice backing vocals with harmonies, no need for the girls they're just making the band crowded
What is sad about today and everyone's internet voice is that I find it (and I'm old) so judgmental. +Rumsquall Lo the bass always seems simplified in their performances, but to be fair rado does some pretty complex shit in the sense it doesn't really repeat too much

Patricia Dieudonne yeah jackie and the other two were hired because Sam's ex who used to be the only female live member was kicked out of the band in dramatic fashion. They completely changed their aesthetic after she left; they went from a 5 piece to like a 9 piece live group.

Their drum sounds never get talked about… gotta be my favorite part of this band/project. Especially on this album
I miss this band
0:20 - How can you really.
3:45 - Coulda been my love.
11:00 - Cannibal holocaust.
14:40 - Hang.
how can anyone hate this performance.. BRILLIANT!!!

Well said and I couldn't agree more. I'm 46 yrs of age and enjoing these new bands like Foxygen.
2024 called... They disintegrated.
Coulda Been My Love is niiice
they have a very very good energy
here after listened "san francisco" and immediately fall in love with this band, even if I thought it was of a female singer.
Same.
That singer is an angel.
Truly
I have no idea what to think. But, I feel like a glass of Tang for some reason.

hope you got a "Diane Coffee" performance recorded as well while they were in the building

the music and the whole presentation, reminiscent of pop music 80s

Awesome!!! such a great band
It's the cut-off shirt sleeves that really makes it.
I listen this video in the same time I was reading the Berserk manga. It was a incredible experience to me.
wow, its Todd Rundgren all over again!
Backup singers killed this (in a bad way) which sucks because if they sounded better this performance really could have been taken up a notch.
+Terri Powys totaly agree!
+Terri Powys I agree with you but it's not that they did a bad job but that they were placed way too prominently in the mix
It is possible that one of them, maybe, managed to sing a few clear notes. That's how bad a job they have done in this video.
+evannell Yeah, they are WAY off key.
None of the vocals are prefect that's why it's good.
groooovy
KEXP is awaome!!!!
KEXP would y'all be willing to add the start time next to the song names so that viewers can skip to individual songs?
Awesome!!!
Tasty fresh jams.
great!!!!!!
Aren't those back up singers just the dancers from the music video for "How can you really"?
Backup singers are consistently out of tune and the guitars are turned down too much. If it wasn't for that, this would've been a great performance
(at least) One of the backup singers was off key all dam day.
It's rock 'n roll, nobody cares unless you're here for prog or jazz fusion.
