Nah, this song is sad as fuck
@@shoonger001 Lyrically it's sad, but musically, it's rather bright and cheery lol :))))))
This came on my RUclips mix randomly...I legit thought it was some old 60s song that I somehow had never heard, then looked them up and mind was blown. THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT!😍🤩
So true
tony Bennet tune of diff lyrics...
I had pretty much the same experience but with Spotify. Love this song.
Get These Kids Off Broadway
It’s amazing
I appreciate how this dude's voice reminds me of Nico :)
I actually thought it was some remix of a song by her when I heard this in a retail store
Yes!! After Hours vibe
Limp Imp Nico doesn’t sing on After Hours
Tom Jones it’s Moe
I know. Just an inside joke of my brother and mine
Limp Imp Hi Moe
I found this band about a month ago and let me just tell you it's been awesome listening to their albums everyday. I love them so much
Me too
this song makes me feel like someone loves me
I love you
I love you
they are so talented... reminds me of syd barrett's psychedelic music. it's good to know that musicians like this are existing
Reminds me of the kinks :) (which is a good thing)
Definitely! When I first heard this song, especially its chorus, I wondered whether this might be the new single by Ray Davies. Until some trademark Syd Barrett harmonies emerged from the tune.
yes, of course. as I have said recently, very Kinksish!
Right exactly ha
I have had this song on non stop since I heard it. Foxygen are the best thing to happen to me since I discovered Lou Reed as a teen. Genius. I am in love.
"that's ok, I was bored anyway".....I like that part.
I love how 90% of the comments on Foxygen videos are "this sounds like [insert classic band from 60s/70s]
its not surprising because they took so many musical cues from bands like, the Animals, Beatles, The Doors even.
Because the entire piece is derivative (though done well).
@@socomply5963and plus the dude singer sam france looks like jim morrison😊
he looks like Beck's and Roddy McDowell's lovechild 😅 @kewtkor7
“And you swimming up tide or just tuning in radio stations “ is my fav part
I love indie music
I love u
The Syd Barrett influence is quite noticeable
Adam A Mandelbrot damn ive been listening to foxyge for quite a while and i just realised that
Adam A Mandelbrot More like The Zombies.
Agree!
Not chit.
Total Syd Barrett. Especially the descending refrain and warbly guitar and organ. Syd checked out from this cruel world way too soon. Why not pick up the torch and carry his sound forward for future generations?
I loooove this band. Fucking looove that name, and they're a beautiful mix of the stones, velvet underground, T.Rex, and just all kinds of 60s-70s goodness. And on top of that all just manages to still be original x)
Give the Kinks a listen, not that well known but start with, I dunno, The Kinks are the Village Green Preservation Society. I think you'll dig it. :)
Stumbled upon this in spotify and honestly, I thought I was listening to some 60's flower child auditory creation, turned out to be from 2013 and my god do I not regret it, "We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic" blew my fucking mind. Solid album and I'm glad that even in 2020 we can find music so carefree and fun as this.
Dude check out Take the Kids Off Broadway it's an absolute masterpiece
My boss played this on his playlist at work, now I am hooked :) A fine song! ♫
You might like a band called The Doublejumps if you like Foxygen
I Effin love this song.. Reminds me of growing up in LA with my daddy playing his old records as I sat there just wondering when the heck it would b over.. Now I miss it
here cause I found it on my own
+Jessie Salinas good for you
same
Jessie Salinas who's a clever boy... (that talks bollocks)
everynoiseatonce . com my friend....everynoiseatonce .com !
*disapear*
meuboui disappear (I think you mean).
this song is sooo 60s sounding. it almost sounds like it could be a Mamas and Papas song
Yeah,it would fit right into the Teeny-Bopper genre. Featured in 16 magazine.
Sounds exactly like the kinks!
Bela Tarr
So you're s teeny-booper.right?
More like The hollies "Carrie Anne".
I was thinking Kinks.
This would be perfect in the soundtrack of a Wes Anderson movie!
Wes would dig this video. The song too.
Ann Evans gtfo
This and Metronomy songs 🙌🏻

I've never read a comment more true except that one telling me I was more stupid than the people who ran away from the police only to run into the police station.
im australian....found foxygen by chance ...then lemon twigs....love it all...we would never hear of these bands otherwise...hook me up....who else is doing similar stuff...i even buy music im that serious about it
was reading an article in a music mag where Bobby Gillespie was explaining the favourite tracks of his life. He mentioned this band and said they were probably most underrated band ever. If this songs anything to go by he's not wrong
You might like a band called The Doublejumps if you like Foxygen
@@MassiveFish-hp4pm tHANKS will check them out
nice. Heard it on the radio and for a second I thought it's some newly discovered velvet underground track.
This reminds me so much of Only a Norther Song by The Beatles! It has the same melody. Really loving it.
You might like a band called The Doublejumps if you like Foxygen
Oh my, one chap was plying this song in the bus on my way back from work around month ago and it just stuck in my head, finally i found it! Thats just too good
I can't stop listening to this
Love this record, you can tell their influences for sure but they are doing something totally unique and creative.
This is a really wonderful song. Love Foxygen.
This sounds so Beatles-y, like a midquel to the band before they broke up and ELO supposedly took up the role. Love it.
This record is growing on me. At first I hated the quick stylistic changes they do from track to track but now I can't get enough of it.
they sound like mgmt and i love it
Las publicidades de Movistar que te hace buscar los temas en Shazam y escucharlos muchas veces al dia!!!
i appreciate that these guys dont take themselves too seriously. just the right amount of goofy
i love foxygen so much, every time i listen to them i fall even more in love
Park Inseo here listening to this thanks to Nam Taehyun 😊😊
Reminds me a lot of the Zombies, songs like Beechwood Park, Maybe After She's Gone, etc. Also the lyrics to the chorus sounds like that Tony Bennett song "I left my heart in San Francisco". Also mildly reminds me of Strawberry Fields by the Fab 4. Great singing.
Totally agree, especially about The Zombies. Anyone who knows Odessey and Oracle will instantly see their fingerprints all over this.
Garrett Cash I still think this group is good though,I just hear a lot of influences. If more bands could take old sounds give them a fresh spin and make new songs like this I would be happy.
I absolutely agree with everything you said. I just enjoy picking out the influences too, but they are a seriously good band. The most recent record is quite impressive. I see a ton of Kinks in it too. Plus Velvet Underground and Sgt Pepper-era Lennon style lyrics like "I was bored anyway."
Garrett Cash Yea I agree with the Kinks and VU comparisons. The comment I originally left was after my first time hearing them a while back and I hadn't heard the rest of their discography then. Also RIP Lou Reed, they are selling his old guitars on ebay now!
This is one of the sweetest songs I have heard in years. Great job.
this song makes me BEYOND happy.. almost in tears
I love how this vid has such a nostalgic feel to it!
rock`n Roll is not dead !!!
what is wrong with you John Meyers !?
Leon Weber He's a troll - don't feed it. He'll come out of it once he leaves puberty.
Metal isn't dead either! :D
i cant put into words how amazing foxygen is. i saw them at pitchfork yesterday and instantly fell in love.
I love this band, they're bringing back that 60's sound vibe
The “that’s ok, I was bored anyway” part sounds just like John Lennon’s “but they’re not, we just wrote them that way” part in Only A Northern Somg
thats George
my boy George
THANK YOU. I knew it sounded very familiar, and thats what it sounds like for sure.
I was only a lad of twenty and five when I moved to San Francisco in the mid 1990s. Before the century was over I'd had two incredibly star-crossed love affairs with beautiful enchantresses that hailed from Los Angeles. Several lifetimes later, after I'd moved so far away to the East Coast, I heard this song for the first time and it transported me back to those bittersweet summers in SF. I feel as though this song has given me a magical channel back to Land's End and that sublime peak of Strawberry Hill at Stow Lake where it all began.
You are a poet, don't try to deny it
I just found out about Foxygen today and this is the first good thing RUclips has ever requested me. This band reminds me of the Rolling Stones in a lot of ways...I think I will really start to grow fond of this band after all.
I love this band just listened to to the whole album and I'm in love!
That person brought me here...this song is so chill. really like it!
Sounds like it was released in 1966. Lovely!
I LOVE LOVE this song!!!!
I love the unique sound, especially the 60's influences
omg I'm here because my algebra teacher played this song in the background

@@inactive.9864 you are a norman
loving you guys. really captured the essence of mid 60's psychedelic.
One of their best songs!!! 😊❤️❤️
I love this song so much. Thank you, Spotify.
There's nothing quick, they've been making music as foxygen since they were 15/16, they've worked for a long time to reach this point.
First few times I heard, I thought they were singing "That's okay, I was born in LA" (instead of "That's okay, I was bored anyway")
SleepingRoll actually she's singing both of this lines alternately
@@marianturniejow9231 aah, that's good to know. ensures I wasn't going crazy
SleepingRoll Omg me too😂
It’s both
@@milliebutterworth9310 they're saying both.
i don't know why I waited so long to check out this band. the song's got a real kinks-y feel to it.
This is fantastic and so beautiful! You guys rocked it!
Thiz reminds me of Velvet Underground
Confirmed: You’ve never listened to the Velvet Underground
@@srsucioguapodelsur8845 the voice sounds just like Nico. Listen to Sunday morning by VU
@@srsucioguapodelsur8845 it also reminds me of The Velvet Underground, and I've very much listened to their music.
@@srsucioguapodelsur8845 Shut up
@@srsucioguapodelsur8845 Ok you're very funny but jokes on you my mother died 2 years ago :)
I've spent months trying to find this song. Kept getting I Left My Heart in San Francisco by Tony Bennett. Was starting to think I imagined this song. Haha
Fall in love with this song and video!
Lets Through a Foxygen party - that would be awesome!
These guys remind me of Pink Floyd during the Syd Barrett era. I totally dig their tunes.
I hear that now thanks for pointing it out
They really went for mad cap laugh syd barett vibes. Really using british style rhymes here
innercircle here 😂😂😂😂

I was born in 62 and love the tunes from the 50s, 60s, 70s but i have to say i like this tune, it is catchy!
Absolutely lovely
Great song. They remind me of MGMT. Both are equally great, really
gah perfect voice
Sooooo good ... takes me back to the 60's .... and Syd lives on 🖤
Only discovered this....sounds great.
This song makes me happy (that's ok I was born in NJ 😁

This song is amazing gets me everytime, right under my ribs.
This is the catchiest song I've heard in a very long time. Good on ya Foxygen.

heard this song today at work... it's so chill and sweet
This has to be the most beautiful list i have ever seen!
I left my love in Sam France-isco
these guys are really fucking good
I am here because of an ad i saw 3 years ago. I listened to this song countless times before. I remember a specific time after i met my idol. When i came home i listened to this. Listening to it brings me nostalgia. I miss being in that time
what a brilliant song and brilliant band
Nice to see that some of the children these days are doing nice pop music with 60's influences. Sigh.
Actually I hear Eno in this-- from Taking Tiger Mountain era.
but theres no bite,no edge..this is too wussy for young music...guys are feminized now
Does EVERYTHING have to have bite and edge?
YES, listen to the lemon twigs!
Listen to their new songs Follow The Leader and On Lankershim. They've become more 70's inflenced now.
I found out about Foxygen because of Elizabeth Feys mom, she walked into my job and told me to check out this video because her daughter was very beautiful. Now I wish I would have just met her Daughter and the band before they blew up
lol you should have known when u saw this video first time.
What do you mean they blew up? Shit.. I've been off for a while.
I saw those guys for free in The Echoplex, I can't believe how big they are now...met the guys too, very friendly, reminded me of any friend I had... :P
Vintage feeling! Love foxygen!
the chorus is amazing!

One of my friends on a trip to San Francisco last week kept singing this and now it’s permanently etched in my brain
BEST album so far of 2013!!!!
Great Syd Barrett motifs!
he sounds like namtae!!! :D
is it possible that Winner's new song would sound like this? it's weird but beautiful!
+akhmad fadli it would be great cuz Seungyoon said their new album will include genres of music that never been used in kpop :D
Selma Cullen NICE! tbh I want Indie Pop, Chamber Pop, Dream Pop, and Art Pop in kpop scene and only WINNER can pull those genres I'm sure! :D
R.I.P. Syd Barrett
How am I barely discovering this artist ?. Genius!
I love it! I love it! I looooooovveeee them!!!
thank teahyun , great song
Syd Barrett is reborn...
Yes! I've been trying to figure it out and that's it totally!
