I told my cardiologist that I get afib after eating and he told me there was no correlation at all. Glad to know I’m right. Doctors should listen to their patients. We know our bodies.

You are definitely right. He’s just putting “conditions in seperate boxes” as opposed to having to think holistically. Our bodies aren’t compartmentalised…unlike your Doctor’s brain!

Perhaps your best video, so far. A very overlooked issue, that many Cardiologists have not a clue about, and even less interest in considering the Gastro-Vagal-Cardio relationship.

If I eat too much, or spicy foods, can feel my heart racing. Working on eating small meals and avoiding peppers. Thank you for confirming my theory and validating my symptoms.

@@inviku it is like learning to live our lives all over...we just need to stick with healthy living. also, I have gave up my wine. Noticed the day after (even if only one glass), I would have some odd symptoms . my heart is more important than wine.

Good report! I have A-Fib and have now kept it down most of the time to 80 bpm. I do know how some of you foods you mentioned cause my A-Fib to rise. I did not know the Vegas nerve was related to this. I also have hypertension (take BP meds) and postcranial hypotension ( my BP drops after eating).
It seems that most of the time when my BP is low, my pulse is high, and when my BP is high, my pulse is low! I wonder what the relation between BP and Pulse causes that?

After losing weight down to a healthy size , afib after eating still occurs sometimes, but not very often.

@cooking.outside I had a Ablation December 9th 2022. I've had no episodes only palpitations sometimes. Ablation gave me my life back.

Excellent summary, thanks. What are your thoughts about special diets like the “ketogenic”, “carnivore”, or “plant-based” diets in relation to A.F.?

I have found this to be true. I ate a fish dish that was heavily seasoned. Within seven minutes of finishing my meal I experienced syncope while driving, so I pulled over.I wound up going to ER by ambulance and stayed over nite. My heart rate and blood pressure dropped severely. My bowels released the meal in 24 hours and when the cardiologist came in the next morning he did a little consult by using the white board in my room to educate me on food borne illnesses and how they may trigger such an event. He did confirm that the heart aids in digestion process. I too was impressed with the list of foods you mentioned and concur. The vagal system is receiving more attention now than ever. I did not have this situation when I was a yoga teacher as I was doing so many postures that stabilized the vagus nerve. There are methods to do this for sure. Check out YT for some very good videos. Thank you for an excellent video. You are a five-⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐star cardiologist,
