INTRODUCING: The Collector John Question Bucket Submit your questions to the Collector John Question Bucket and I’ll pick a couple to answer at some point during each of my videos (while I’m driving around to different game stores, or playing my pickups, etc.) It gives me extra stuff to talk about, and also lets me interact with y’all a bit more. SUBMIT TO THE QUESTION BUCKET: Just comment on any Collector John video with your question, and start out your comment with “QUESTION BUCKET:” so it’s a bit easier for me to pick them out. I will answer any question, it doesn’t necessarily have to be about video games but don’t get too weird about it. Have fun!
My first PS2 game I got was Turok evolution a weird and glitchy game! I still have my 39001 PS2 model and she still kicking! Anyways yeah as far as Soul Reaver Defiance you should definitely play it last if you want to know the story! Most of the game has a time paradox due to Raziel the main character going back into time because he goes to the human world and spectral world. To be safe just play the series like this 1st: Blood omen legacy of Kain, Soul Reaver Legacy of Kain, Blood Omen 2, Soul Reaver 2 and Defiance. Also keep warm and stay safe.
Smugglers Run is one of my favorite games of all time. Especially enjoy just free riding, I enjoy pushing the other cars into the river and running over the hikers and border patrol guys. I’m an adult.
Smugglers run 1 and 2 were two of my favorite games when I was a kid, I would spend hours playing. Btw I love this video format, it’s super cozy and nostalgic.
I love LoK: Defiance. I've enjoyed all of the LoK games, and this one brought both sagas together very well. I wish EIDOS would've continued this series...
I'm checking out some of your old content on this lazy monday... I loved the PS2 John .. I have fond memories playing all the GTA games and metal gears...I'm Xbox all day , but the PS2 man it was great 👍
I try to complete every game i start, if i don't end up completing it ill sell it or if i don't have any intention of completing it i wont buy it. Otherwise my collection would be massive and its way to easy to get carried away. I go for a more curated selection and get the thrill of the hunt from videos like yours lol.
I really love the fat ps2 and original xbox. I grew up with a ps2 and actually used to rent games from a local video store called family video. I find the ps2 and og xbox to have fun games but I also enjoy tinkering with them and modding them aswell!
New sub here! Watched all your previous videos during the last week or so, and I enjoy your collecting journey! Some people might say that your comment is common sense about you should play your video games, but it's absolutely true! A lot of people out there just keep buying left and right but barely sits down to enjoy them! I'm more into modern games now, but I enjoy going back to some Retro from time to time, especially my OG Xbox (which I know you like as well)! I normally complete the games that I start, unless I really don't like it, but it's also fun to swap from game to game for a quick session, especially Arcade style ones! Great video and keep up the good work!
We do have to remember to play the games, well at least I do. I love collecting these games, agai , but sometimes I forget to ay and enjoy these games. RUclips has kinda destroyed my attention span the past several years. So sometimes I put a game in and im done in 10 minutes, because my brain's telling me to go to the next thing!
QUESTION BUCKET: What game that you knew nothing about before purchasing has most surprised you? I've found personally with time, other than re-buying childhood games, my favourite games to collect are those random $5-15 games I've never heard of. It gives me the vibe of being a kid and buying a game purely based on its cover art and the back of the box.
As you know i am ps1 and ps2 collector, i work hard in factory(metal industry), my favourite time is friday night, its time to get some beer and snacks, come home wash up, open the beer and pick a console and games for that night, that is my time, only for me 🥰 That's my reward for hard work, just now while i am writing this comment its one of my "for me" friday nights. Sorry for bad English 🙂
@@collectorjohn9538 thank you, as always great video, soo relaxing with sooo damn nice vibe, can't wait next video. Btw i want to show you something from my collection, can i e mail you or add you on instagram or fb?
Going through older collector john content while i await the next video😅! Ya i got a ps2 off of shopgoodwill for really cheap, it also didnt read dvd based games at all. Messed with the dvd side of the lasers potentiometer a bit..but that still wasnt doing it, that thing was done for. $11 new laser and its great now! Edit: glad to see you playing champions. Been meaning to check mine out again and you just reminded me!
Nice! Was it a slim or a regular? I have a slim that doesn't read DVDs so wondering how difficult a laser replacement is. New vid just dropped hope you enjoy it!
@@collectorjohn9538 it's a regular fat PS2. It was really easy! The only daunting part was de-soldering the little anti-static blob of solder that they put on the lasers for shipping. That's only because I had no prior experience in doing any of it, lol. But was really simple. I've read on some slims you could probably get away with adjusting the lasers potentiometer to get some more life out of it! (Scary name but it's really just 2 small Phillips head screws on the laser lol) The ps2 sub on reddit has tons of good information & help on there!

Question Bucket: I've been collecting for a while and always have been playing games since I was young but only really last year and this year collecting seriously. I'm very inspired by how you play and how you set it up. Any tips on making my own space/finding my own flow? I am fortunate I have a large room I can dedicate to this just havent began to set it up yet...

I enjoyed the video, really like seeing you actually play the games you collect
Thanks dude 🔥
Smugglers Run was my first game for the ps2 when it came out. I loved it! It was basically crazy taxi, but with drugs.
It's pretty fun! It actually was a launch title as I'm sure you know, I was wrong about that in the vid
Mine too :p

I played a ton of smuggler's run on the gamecube with my friends. Pretty neat game!
Didn't realize there was a GameCube version, cool!
Really fun watch. So many other retro collectors rarely showcase themselves playing their games so this is a really welcomed sight.
I dig it man. I’ll do my best to like and comment on every video to help pump your vids in the algorithm.
You're the man Lucas! 🙏
Smugglers Run is one of my favorite games of all time. Especially enjoy just free riding, I enjoy pushing the other cars into the river and running over the hikers and border patrol guys. I’m an adult.
Hell yeah
We rented Smuggler's Run at or near launch and had a great time with it. We also rented Midnight Club and really enjoyed that as well
Smugglers run 1 and 2 were two of my favorite games when I was a kid, I would spend hours playing. Btw I love this video format, it’s super cozy and nostalgic.
I like the format of this video, as well as hearing your thoughts on games. Glad that I found your channel! I always look forward to your videos now.

@@collectorjohn9538 love to see some vita videos in the future. Love your videos man, they are super chill.
