2.7 has nothing on the pushrod 3.3/3.8.chrysler should have used those minivan engines in everything.
9:40 I bought a remote self tightening camp remover like that. 8 years ago to replace a heater core in a 99 Deville. It is well worth the $34 I spent.

Did you mention to turn on heater during your test drive to make sure that there is no air in there. I'd change the oil too after an overheat condition.

Check enginge blowby and a compression/leak down test, if it got hot enough to shut off then the oil was baking hot and super thin. Possible it did major damage from cylinder wall scoring due to improper lubrication from overheated out of spec thin oil. So low compression and excessive oil consumption. It might've not started because the fuel in the rails/injectors were boiling and vaper locked. The failsafe is more or less the computer retarding timing on the ECT vs timing advance modifier table to reduce power and also adding fuel to cool cylinders combustion temperature.

Replace all that plastic. That coolant bottle looks due also. Hope motor is okay. I've seen these types of custos before -- you should have saved that 2.7 for someone who needed it
