*Tiny reminder:* This OST is from a fan-game called "Undertale Last Breath" so nothing here is official except for the character who's inspired by the original character "sans" from Undertale. You should check out the Phase 1 and Phase 2 OSTs too.
You know if you guys haven’t heard: “Sans, he’s a skeleton.” “He doesn’t have lungs.” “And since he doesn’t have lungs.” “His last breath, will *never* happen.”
I actually ran across this the first time from the "remember son, dying is gay" meme, and I wanted to know the source. Turned out it was a damn good song.
So context: Undertale: last breath is one of the most influencial Undertale Aus and fangames, which became so popular that people outside of the fandom started to hear about it. The plot takes place after a lot of genocide routes, because of the fun value in Waterfall spawns a door with a secret charachter named Gaster behind (this door can in fact spawn in the og Undertale). Gaster escapes the room and heads to Sans to help him. He tolds Sans about the past routes and offers him help. So at the end of another genocide route Sans is much more prepared to fight human. All the music of this game was composed by BenLab and I recommend you to listen to other tracks: Not a Slacker Anymore But he refused to give up + The Slaughter Continues Veni Vici Complevit The last one is not as popular as others because it's an ending theme, but I consider it the best track of this game
then some random guy thought to himself “hey why don’t i make an underswap version” and accidentally summoned the fandom then the fandom just made infinite last breath AUs and then some random guy made a phase 4 and then someone made phase 4 again and then 9 people made phase 4 then someone made phase 5 and phase 6 and finally some kids ruin the fun by reusing random songs

The arpeggiaton in the background throughout the song is actually a liteMotif for the character Gaster and the fact that is in the background for most of the song is fitting since you are fighting Sans being influenced by Gaster.

@@mariotheundying sure, in theory, assuming deltarune is an au means that, again, in theory, aus are canon, but i don’t think he’s ever personally said that he considers them all canon.
Last breath is basically just one of those fan games that was most likely made from the creators going “what if…” and in this case it’s what if sans found the mystery man aka what most people call him: gaster and this is obviously the 3rd phase of the fan game which I believe is the most common to see in last breath fan games that have only 1 phase, anyways so this fan game is also kinda like dust tale but sans doesn’t go insane and kills people but as in it’s been plenty of gen runs, if you watch undertale stuff or play all 3 routes you’ll understand what I mean but pretty much in the 1st phase there’s harder attacks cuz it’s a fan game then in 2nd phase gaster tries blocking the hit but mostly fails leaving sans at very low hp but giving him another chance and in 3rd phase gaster pretty much just takes full control of sans and it’s just survival but very hard, so ye that’s just my explanation of it if you wanna read this (also I recommend watching a last breath sans play through for more info)
Funny fact about that arpeggio often found playing in the background in the song. It's the leitmotif from "Gaster's Theme" from the original Undertale game. Gaster is Sans' father.
On the off chance you wanted to do a similar theme, I would suggest Interstellar Retribution, the phase 1 theme for Disbelief. It's often associated with Last Breath. No More Deals from the fangame of the same name is also similar. Autophobia, from the Devilovania fangame, is really good too. If you want something totally out there, I got three words: Black Apple, Underverse.
Interstellar retribution is unoriginal and basically stolen work from Rock Candy album. Barely actually related to undertale and don't think it's worth of video reaction on it. The only disbelief theme that deserves of reaction and really good is Final Chance, phase 4 theme. But painful retribution solos lmao I LOVE PAINFUL RETRIBUTION SJSBEJXJWJ
This theme is by far my favorite fan made theme, and my favorite fan game for undertale. It’s such a big spectacle fight in the fan game, and it makes my tiny brain happy
the difference between Undertale and Undertale: Last Breath is that Undertale is the original normal story made by Toby Fox. And Undertale: Last Breath is a take on the fight with Sans during the genocide route made by ZerJox where sans lives the hit that killed him in the original story, (Undertale: Last Breath got a rework so I'm unsure if this was changed or not, but when this song was released this was how it went)
Hopefully you this is your only phase review for last breath. The original creator made 3 phase but the fandoms made over 100 phase for the skeleton. Good review though. Enjoyed it
I mean, it’s just because there are so many other cool fan made songs that you could miss if you get stuck reacting the bazillion phases people made for last breath that never ever end
A fascinating reaction choice lol would’ve been a tad more interesting if you listened to this while watching the fight this goes too as the music matches up pretty well with the beat of the fight lol
I really loved your Arknights and Risk of Rain 2 videos, I hope I can see you react to more of them in the future! Also, maybe a little bit of Starcraft?
It’s nice when you see the original fight. It’s made to sync so if you watched the original fight in game, it would be synced. It’s even more exhilarating when actually playing it.
The HUGE difference between Undertale and Undertale: Last Breath is that they're both created by different people and ULB (Undertale: Last Breath) is a fan made game for Undertale. Now the lore difference: Undertale: Last Breath is like, after dozens of genocide runs later than the original game. Sans (the skeleton) finds a mysterious man, called gaster, that helped sans remember all the previous genocide runs/resets =-only flowey the flower and frisk (us/the protagonist) can remember what happens in the previous resets, because of their DETERMINATION-= and (in phase 2 and 3) gave him more power so that sans could have a chance at beating the human. (I said this with as few words as possible cuz yes)
I don't know how this banger evaded me for so long, but this exact video was the first time I heard this and I immediately fell in love with it. It's such a memorable piece.
undertale last breath is a fan game of undertale that explores a fan made timeline where during the human’s endless genocide sans meets w.d gaster and gaster proceeds to tell sans about everything the human has done, this motivates sans beyond belief and thus results in this battle and song.
I love when a song says something to you. I hear this and I see sans there looking menacing as hell and I get the message: ok there bud. Now you’re gonna have a REALLY bad time.
Why would I not honor a request of a tier 4 patreon member that directly requested this song with financial support to the channel? I think that would be in rather bad taste to ignore just becuase I have not heard the entire catalog of the game yet.
@@DrumRollTonyReacts I understand that I just hope you do megalovania soon it's by far the most popular song unfortunately i don't have money to give but i hope you enjoy it when and if you listen to it and I hope you enjoy an enigmatic encounter
@@crosswaveproductions1895 I likely wont do that song because I have heard it SO many times over the years. I had no clue it was from a video game when I heard it over and over. The focus of the channel is to hear stuff as a "first time listen". However, I would be interested in making a video that is like "ranking the top 5 covers of megalovania" or something like that. You don't have to give money to be part of the channel. I was just addressing that this person is a supporter and therefore their selection will be heard regardless of my order in the Undertale experience order. Hopefully that made sense. LOL!
Undertale Last Breath is a mod where you fight sans in a timeline where you already fought and beat sans hundreds of times, but this time something different, as someone named Gaster keeps saving him from death.
Undertale last breath is a version where sans asked gaster (gaster is a secret character in undertale) and gaster protects sans for phase 2 and controls sans (supposedly Idk) in phase 3 which is what is the 2 lowest parts in the music.
The diffrence between last breath and regular undertale is last breath is alternative universe (au) where sans meets somone called gaster (known to be the creator of sans and his brother in the community or mystery man) and this is after the human who killed mosters and reset multiple times and gaster sans remember all the resets of his timeline and gaster helps sans as he is stronger as before makeing him not fje in one hit and able to survive the human till his 3rd phase untill chara (or frisk) finished him off
Basically, undertale last breath is a fan made timeline where sans' father (gaster) tells sans everything about all genocide routes, and all routes in general. Then sans decides he cant let it slide anymore. He decides to actually give it his all despite being known as lazy. so thats how undertale last breath is different from undertale. (Also, the sans sprite on the screen is when gaster helps sans from getting fully killed to keep fighting. Sans also got hit in phase 2, hence the blood and the slash mark. And the cracks on sans' skull are a resemblance of gasters own markings on his face. Hope this helped!)
fanmade games are basically games which people make based off undertale, with those fanmade game they change can change the storyline of the game and the plot of the game while somewhat resembling the main plot of the game undertale, just in a different narrative
The best way to explain this that the fan game took a popular and very difficult to beat character and shifted the lore to make a even harder boss fight with 3 phases based on a secret in the og game.
last breath is from a diffrent time line (where diffrent things change through out the story) this is where everything suddently finaly changes for chara after tons and tons of genoside routs) so gaster discides to help sans to make sure he doesnt die and he becoems all bloodyed up and destroyed but still bairly alive living on his last breath but this isnt cannon and just a fan made story
I ain’t good at explaining, but I definitely know a lot about undertale and it’s aus, the theme you’re hearing here is the third phase which is where gaster (non cannon but misunderstood as sans’s dad or an actual character, it’s been 9 years yet we still don’t know if it’s cannon but there are many hints that he is w.d gaster) manipulates sans’s body (basically making sans his puppet) which is why there are references to gaster’s theme and why the theme is very chaotic and glitchy (due to gaster somehow taking over his body lol) it’s not cannon at all since sans only has 1 phase canonically, but is a nice idea, basically last breath is an au where sans refuses to die to stop the human. In last breath there are 3 phases, but the community decided for some reason, to make many more (going into the hundreds) I really liked how you analysed this and in my opinion, there are better themes out there, so if you have time, check the others out!

I forgot, but was it ever confirmed that they were related?
@@gamermoment9927 it was never confirmed
On the off chance you wanted to do a similar theme, I would suggest Interstellar Retribution, the phase 1 theme for Disbelief. It's often associated with Last Breath. No More Deals from the fangame of the same name is also similar. Autophobia, from the Devilovania fangame, is really good too.
If you want something totally out there, I got three words: Black Apple, Underverse.
☠️ Classic disbelief kinda sucks bro
@@drantigontf? Who the hell let this man cook? Never cook again
@@Oleja2008 Yeah, Interstellar Retribution was made by DBOYD and Kommissar
This theme is by far my favorite fan made theme, and my favorite fan game for undertale. It’s such a big spectacle fight in the fan game, and it makes my tiny brain happy
Undertale basically spawned its own genre at this point and I'm here for it
I dont know if he know "No more deal", "Lethal deal" and "Lethal deal, a soul for a soul", but he NEED TO HEAR THEM
I love it when actual musicians react to such awesome songs. Awesome Video!
the difference between Undertale and Undertale: Last Breath is that Undertale is the original normal story made by Toby Fox.
Enjoyed it
I can't guarantee that this will be the only one. Lol. Why would I do that? That seems limiting
@@DrumRollTonyReacts fr more power to you then. Good luck
@@DrumRollTonyReacts Yup. Especially with so much untouched stuff from og Undertale and Deltarune (holding my breath for rude buster).
I mean, it’s just because there are so many other cool fan made songs that you could miss if you get stuck reacting the bazillion phases people made for last breath that never ever end
Undertale = funny game with actual hope
Last Breath = *LITERAL HELL UNLEASHED UPON YOU FOR YOUR SINS*
After so long hearing it but…1:20 still give me shiver
seeing undertale fanmade themes getting recognition just makes me genuinely happy as someone who's been part of it for so long
A fascinating reaction choice lol would’ve been a tad more interesting if you listened to this while watching the fight this goes too as the music matches up pretty well with the beat of the fight lol
I really loved your Arknights and Risk of Rain 2 videos, I hope I can see you react to more of them in the future!
Also, maybe a little bit of Starcraft?
dude did you really just perfectly beatbox that part
you have earned my respect and my subscription
Listening to this music reminds me of the "remember son dieing is gay" meme
It’s nice when you see the original fight. It’s made to sync so if you watched the original fight in game, it would be synced. It’s even more exhilarating when actually playing it.
The HUGE difference between Undertale and Undertale: Last Breath is that they're both created by different people and ULB (Undertale: Last Breath) is a fan made game for Undertale.
Now the lore difference:
Undertale: Last Breath is like, after dozens of genocide runs later than the original game.
5:44 is one of my favourite parts across all of the megalovainia sound tracks. Its just........perfect.....to every minute detail....perfect
Oh dude the disbelief papyrus ost would be great. If you are interested to try the different remixes of the game.
Interstellar retribution is a bop.
You know you going to stay determined when this songs starts playing
I'm still confused as to why the Undertale OST isn't copyrighted, but the fangame music is
Right!?
@Floppi909 This fan made song denied my attempt to use under fair use. They said no immediately after my initial dispute
. 😑
Watching the fight for me is basically the songs music video. I cant be the only one that feel that way right?
Yo you should try listening to The Slaughter Continues(Undertale Last Breath phase 2 theme). It's better in my own opinion
Blocked once more
I really love how you stopped when the next beat is gonna start and not just stop it randomly which is annoying 💀
Remember son dying is gay...
I don't know how this banger evaded me for so long, but this exact video was the first time I heard this and I immediately fell in love with it. It's such a memorable piece.
There's some good ost too like for example :
Chaotic Time Trio
Former Time Trio
Finale For The Bonely One
and Call of the Void
last genocide too
@@namtrieunhat4214pls no
Even Dusttale

Say what you want about the AU, but you can’t argue that the themes don’t slap
undertale last breath is a fan game of undertale that explores a fan made timeline where during the human’s endless genocide sans meets w.d gaster and gaster proceeds to tell sans about everything the human has done, this motivates sans beyond belief and thus results in this battle and song.
The song that plays when you made a huga mistake, and your fate has been sealed, but in the end it will all be *YOUR FAULT*
That’s vhc not last breath :/

You really should do - Disbelief Papyrus phase 1 theme - Interstellar Retribution
you would really like it
phase 3 is also great. one of my fav.
Man, I still get tingles listening to this version
The last breath update’s version of this song kinda took that from me but it’s still really good
Im surprised your doing the fan stuff before you're done with the original Undertale stuff
I was summoned

they revamped this song by now, i dont know when but it's SO much better now
Bro the original video of last breath ost phase 3 was deleted, anyone knows why?
Apparently spam and deception which makes zero sense, I literally added the song to my discord music channel, and no w I can’t listen it bro
Undertale last breath is a version where sans asked gaster (gaster is a secret character in undertale) and gaster protects sans for phase 2 and controls sans (supposedly Idk) in phase 3 which is what is the 2 lowest parts in the music.
BLOCKED ONCE MORE🔥🔥🔥
Whoever made this song was cooking perfectly
Who requested this fanmade shit??
I can't understand why you would click on a fan made music reaction video if you don't like it? 🤔
He’s….stumbled onto our fandom…he doesn’t know what he just started.
Loved this! One thing Ive really been looking forward to see you review is the Odd Taxi opening, its very unique and brings good vibes!
The diffrence between last breath and regular undertale is last breath is alternative universe (au) where sans meets somone called gaster (known to be the creator of sans and his brother in the community or mystery man) and this is after the human who killed mosters and reset multiple times and gaster sans remember all the resets of his timeline and gaster helps sans as he is stronger as before makeing him not fje in one hit and able to survive the human till his 3rd phase untill chara (or frisk) finished him off
you should watch the fight of engimatic encounter so you could make sense of the music pattern
Oh my god I was tryna make the face that sans was making and just did a rock eyebrow raise
He needs to watch it with the game play so he can see how hard this really goes with the little federal war crimes sans does
Basically, undertale last breath is a fan made timeline where sans' father (gaster) tells sans everything about all genocide routes, and all routes in general.
I absolutely love this song, and I love the incorporations of Sans' typical music. It's very much based around his songs which I think it PHENOMENAL
fanmade games are basically games which people make based off undertale, with those fanmade game they change can change the storyline of the game and the plot of the game while somewhat resembling the main plot of the game undertale, just in a different narrative
2:20 O kthat's a snippet of Ghasters theme!!!
Undertale Last Breath Phase 2.5 Remix in the Fantasy Violin's Channel. The song actually fits.
fantasy violin didn't make the song tho
Honestly, i would like for him to listen to our broken constellations
Remember son, dying is gay -W. D. Gaster
“Remember son. Dying is gay”
