    I think that the microphone is used to record onto a blank tape.... If you have one.
    BTW, technically that is not actually referred to as a "turntable" but a "record player". Even more specific, that system that you have is considered a "3 in 1 stereo system" (record player, tape player, am/FM radio). How cool is that!!

      Ok, thank you for all the info , I'm now curious about the blank tape to record 🤔, my hubby was really happy when he put the first record to play and it work 😀, thank you for watching, I just upload all these videos for memories

    You need to move the switch from stop to start to auto, then the record should drop and then the arm should swing out and drop on the record, according to the size you selected and play at the speed selected. If there is a switch on the microphone it needs to switched on, and it might need a AA battery. You would have to also select the tape ( 8 Track) function and have a cartridge in there and have the record function for the 8 Track pressed in, but you could get feedback if the speakers are too close to the microphone or if the volume is set too high for how close the microphone is located to the speakers. Making sure you have the same brand microphone has NOTHING to do with it. Hope that information helps. Sincerely, Brian Nowak
