    Hey Ben, sweet playing !!! Question...I'm working on your randy rhodes course and think I'm to heavy on gain when compared to your video...can you give me a ball park direction on how I should set up my amplifier eq ? Thanks bro, every course I've done of yours has been fun and raised my abilities with guitar...

    • @BenHigginsOfficial

      Dial the gain back to where your hammers and pulls sound dry and sticky, without sustain. Then just add a bit of gain back in again so they sound smooth. EQ, just avoid extremes. Keep everything in the middle and then adjust to taste. Randy had lots of treble on his sound in the studio but live it was warmer

    Amazing 👌, but: no real drums on the album?

    • @strikeeagleband
      @strikeeagleband Год назад +2

      I'm glad you dig it, man. The drums are all programmed or drum machines based on the record, as it was a case of it fitting the 80s aesthetic and budget really. Of course, I would prefer real drums though haha

    your guitar playing is truly amazing! I've been on the hunt for the best online guitar lessons, and I think I've found it with yours! But before I dive into purchasing your membership, I want to double-check that my guitar is up to par..... I've got a Fender Custom Shop Nocaster with a seriously FAT neck, a 7.25" radius, and 21 frets. I've seen you're a big fan of Ibanez. I'm on the fence about whether I should stick with what I have or maybe switch to a Music Man JP model or even an Ibanez......

    • @BenHigginsOfficial
      @BenHigginsOfficial  Год назад +1

      It's amazing what people can do with a Strat. Don't forget, all those pointy super strats of the 80s like Jackson, Charvel and even Ibanez were basically Strats in running shoes! So you might have an easier time with another guitar, but you can definitely make gains with a Strat! 🔥

      @@BenHigginsOfficial I appreciate your response! 😄 Mine's a Telecaster though (originally referred to as 'Nocaster' back in 1951), but I reckon Tele/Strat are quite alike. Looks like I might not need to shop for another axe then!
      Even though I'm not quite there with sweep picking yet, your video about Jason Becker's tone has definitely convinced me to consider getting your membership! XD

      @@해일구 Ah I see... John 5 manages to make a Tele work pretty well so I'd say you're good to go! But you can always look at getting something more "Shred" designed further down the road. Jackson or Ibanez would be where I'd look first

    Hi Ben, this is a Steve-Lukather-like sound, very impressive and monumental. Please, how do you create it?
