Yeah, I think it took me about 2 weeks trying to solve the problem once I realized it was the virtual bones to actually find a solution for it. They are aware of the bug....no idea if they will ever fix it.

I'll try that if I ever see that again but I can confirm that at least in 5.3 I haven't happened across it. But I don't do a lot of animation re-targeting.
