An investigation began last year after the British Museum admitted that about 2,000 artefacts were stolen or damaged. The museum now admits that it was in violation of Britain's Public Records Act when the thefts were taking place. But the British Museum isn't expecting any punishment. Can the museum be allowed to carry on with business as usual? Isn't it time that countries start demanding the return of their stolen artefacts?

I am an Indian and emigrated to UK for over 15 years. Most of the stuff inside the museum is well taken care of otherwise thrown into dust by India. India lost to every invading Army for 1100 years and still claims to be the Greatest Civilization. Go to court if something is stolen. There are many international courts. India has not done so, because they would lose the case.
