I traveled to and fro and went from high to low, did every kind of music that I ever heard; opera, yodel, corking the bottle and lighting up ever breathe of life was just another love. Mellowed back now and then to when will I ever get back home. Ole Lord I wanna go home.

Good accurate rockumentary. I've been to a few Hank II shows around 2012-2014, and it's true, I watched him play 4 hours straight, as the centre piece for three different bands. As soon as the last song was over, all the musicians walked off the stage, while Hank walked up to the edge, sat down, and motioned for everyone to come up and get an autograph and a pic. I've been saying it for over a decade now; Hardest working man in the music industry. Hands down.
I was friends with his kid for years but never had the pleasure of meeting him personally. Some of the best music to come out of Nashville in a long time.

I’ve probably seen a couple hundred concerts I guess but I’d never seen anything like them at that time. World class musicianship starting with Shelton and they just nonstop blew our brains out for four or five hours. Don’t think I ever never met a nicer dude either.
Hank 3 rules. Ill forever love the man for gracing us with his work on the first Superjoint Ritual album. Its soo sad he never did any tours or played on the 2ns album after the 1st. When I saw them live it was next fucking level and a moment in time that probably wont be captured again. ie Phils heroin arc, and everyone just drowning in fusion hardcore and drugs. It was so influential to me I ever started using at one point and ruined 10 years of my life, but despite the bad times in jail and everything. Ill always remember it fondly.

Hank 3 played a show for free in san diego way back in 2007 and walked right up to me after the show and say nice job crowd surfing. I was like hey, what a down to earth guy. Seems like a real punk rocker to me.
Nice one. I saw Shelton from his very start live on stage, unnamed opener for Beck on the Sexx Laws tour. I lost my mind! Saw him countless times after. When he started the half country/half hardcore sets he'd be so polite. "Y'all here for country, I'll give you 15 minutes to go, you ain't gonna enjoy what's next". Shows that lasted forever, the amazing Joe Buck, he killed. In November I'm seeing Shelton's good buddy & King of Western Swing Wayne Hancock with Hank IV and the Strange Band. Expecting an rockin' good time. I don't believe we'll see Shelton on the road or on vinyl again, I'm glad I saw him constantly for so long. He's a rad guy.
he is a legend, everything said here is true about how long his shows are and how he spent so much time talking with his fans. Class act guy, wish he was back at it making music.
I love me some Hank 3 , Arson Anthem , Assjack and all he is involved with ! He is not only real country , he is the real deal and real to the bone ! I recently moved to a little town in Kentucky where everybody listens to country , yet nobody ever heard of him ! Blew my mind ! So Slowly but surely I've been showing his music off and telling a bit about him to everyone who will listen , and now they love him and wonder why they are just now hearing of him lol ! I get em hooked with 7 Months 39 Days and Cecil Brown and go from there .
Inside stage at Stubb's, Austin, Texas circa 2001... Misfits minus Glen Danzig were playing across town. He does a great country set and then says that ain't the misfits! Rips through 30 minutes of misfits covers to end it. I'll never forget.
That one aired when I was 12 and I was absolutely on board for it. My mom on the other hand absolutely was not and I didn't hear from him again until I was 16 and found him on youtube.
I knew and gigged with Mike McCandless when he was still with us and performing with Hank III, he said That it was the best gig he had ever worked and that Shelton is the real deal on every level. I can relate to his from Country to funk drunkard days and dope to smoke a toke of rambling rose, the road shows goes on loving I the way and leaving behind every day. I traveled to and fro and went from high to low, did every kind of music that I ever heard; opera, yodel, corking the bottle and lighting up ever breathe of life was just another love. Mellowed back now and then to when will I ever get back home. Ole Lord I wanna go home.
The man walks his own path, he pisses excellence in his own way
Fantastic work!!!
Come to Australia Hank - I will be at every show.
same here!
I saw Hank 3 and his other band Assjack at the New Orleans House of Blues in 2010 and it was pretty freaking awesome
Seen him with Joe Buck... Wayne the Train. Buckethead. Assjack most nights. 4 times live. Each show had a different lineup. SJR. I miss this man's live performances. He always took the time to sign everything for everyone. Such a great dude. I hope he's doing well and knows how much he's loved and missed. I was heartbroken to hear about when he lost his ranch.
I appreciate the man behind the video calling out the selling of the soul part. God Bless you. Thank you for speaking truth.
This was my life for 10+ years. Meet some of the greatest people via shows. It’s like by having the same taste in music gave you an automatic pass to party with the best. Would love a comeback. We need a Hank3 resurrection
Country heroes says it all stood up for the real meaning of country music and punk rock mixed together real fucking outlaw
Great post and thank you.
I look forward to more country from Hank whenever he gets ready to do more.
I met him 3 times and he absolutely stayed until these last hand was shook,so that part was right in this. Nicest guy in the world.
Great video on an AMAZING artist, American, and Human Being!! Shelton has earned the right to roll his own in his own way and more power to him!!
Thanks for the education, I had no idea....
I'm better now for knowing him.
Hank3 is a badass..He could have sold out and took tbe easy way but he stayed true to himself and his punk roots..Hank3 is as real as the come..We love ya Hank and hope you return someday.
I love this guy as much as I love his grandpa's music! Everything about him is great & I'll be a loyal fan until I check out, I'm 67 so I might have a little time left,Sheldon Rocks!
Hes one of the best to ever grace this earth
Ive seen this vato like six or seven times sjr made me a life long fan
Good accurate rockumentary. I've been to a few Hank II shows around 2012-2014, and it's true, I watched him play 4 hours straight, as the centre piece for three different bands. As soon as the last song was over, all the musicians walked off the stage, while Hank walked up to the edge, sat down, and motioned for everyone to come up and get an autograph and a pic. I've been saying it for over a decade now; Hardest working man in the music industry. Hands down.
What a talented fella.
True talent.
Im a fan.
I'm 46, born raised in the middle of W.V. if what this fellas doin ain't in your blood, we prolly won't get along
Hank III is the kind of guy who will hang out with his fans after a show. Very down to earth, cool guy.
These is a great and truthful piece, great job! He is a very real deal good guy.
I was friends with his kid for years but never had the pleasure of meeting him personally.
Some of the best music to come out of Nashville in a long time.
In just 20 minutes youve summed hank up.absolutely brilliant.hes just so good at what he does, from country to hardcore.he gets it.and with massive respect to the musical styles. Ive seen him a few times, have missed last trains home because,he will play and entertain for as long as you want! An absolute top bloke, hope hes happy an healthy an tours again.i still love the black flag 3 bar logo respect and his listening to under the radar punk that aint mainsteam punk.i aint got any heroes but if i did,it would be hank.
I’ve probably seen a couple hundred concerts I guess but I’d never seen anything like them at that time. World class musicianship starting with Shelton and they just nonstop blew our brains out for four or five hours. Don’t think I ever never met a nicer dude either.
He is most definitely the most legendary of the three hanks
Excellent documentary about Hank 3. Great job.
Hope you're doing better man.
@@erikness4231 Yeah im a lot better now. The world? not so much lol
Good to hear that. It's fubar, we just gotta hang on.
@@nwerd7584I've been on methadone for 25yrs. Was at 245mgs at one point, now at 50mgs. And slowly weening down, been on it so long cause the first 6-7yrs i was on it. I was still shooting gram shots of H multiple times a day. Haven't touched H in 19yrs now though.
Hank 3 played a show for free in san diego way back in 2007 and walked right up to me after the show and say nice job crowd surfing. I was like hey, what a down to earth guy. Seems like a real punk rocker to me.
I love this dude just because he clearly has Hank senior in him.
Yeeeah!!!! Greetings from Spain!!! And thanks for the documentary!!!
he is a legend, everything said here is true about how long his shows are and how he spent so much time talking with his fans. Class act guy, wish he was back at it making music.
His music is the perfect soundtrack for all the Appalachian wild ones.🤘
I recorded that Opry Live on VHS when I knew Hank was going to be on. Still have the tape.
That one aired when I was 12 and I was absolutely on board for it. My mom on the other hand absolutely was not and I didn't hear from him again until I was 16 and found him on youtube.
Great video, Tome. Cheers!
I knew and gigged with Mike McCandless when he was still with us and performing with Hank III, he said That it was the best gig he had ever worked and that Shelton is the real deal on every level. He has been a bridge between generations that get it and inspiration to the DIY music community, glad to see some in depth truth about the real man behind all the crazy rumors that come from being in the “Nashville Royalty” spotlight.
I love the punk attitude in music. Country, grunge, stoner. Punk is a great beast. Hank is a badass dude🤘🏻😎
Original sounding music is so rare, and becoming non-existent, this dude is a one in million kind of artists
Very talented country musician,and Metal!
Holy shit!! That is the greatest thing Ive ever saw!! I now remember someone telling me about this guy a few years back. That was the same guy that told me about some of the Country rap and rock stuff that I have now enjoyed for many years. I never checked this guy out. I have a 4 hour drive to make this morning, I know what I will be listening to now. This sounds amazing!! How have I never listened to this guys music??
Thank you, thank you, thank you. My fav
My favorite artist. We’re related distantly. His mother is related to the Shelton family as am I. That’s how he got his first name and I also named my son Shelton. We never missed a III show if we could make it and I’m glad. I don’t think we’ll ever see a return but I damn sure hope I’m wrong.
Loved Hank Sr. and the Sex Pistols…. so yeah, Hank III was a natural fit.
Hank 3 is an eclectic madman and I love it brother!!!
He's talented and genuine.
A rare combination
Seen him three times, met him twice, and the only time I ever went out of state to see a show in Vegas and his opening act was Those Poor Bastards💀💀💀
I seen that tour as well! When he came out in the skeleton costume for black dog yodel was very dark and extremely theatrical
