Over the years, Motörhead would consist of what we can now call two classic line-ups. Lemmy would originally work with guitarist Larry Wallis and drummer Lucas Fox before being quickly replaced by Phil Taylor, better known as Philthy Animal and Fast Eddie Clarke. From 1975 and 1976 respectively.
The next classic line-up would be solidified between the years of 1984 and 1992, with Phil Cambell, Mikkey Dee and Michael "Würzel" Burston, although Wurzel would part ways with the group in 1995 leaving Lemmy, Mikkey and Phil as the last line-up that would continue until 2015.
When Motörhead formed in 1975, Rock music was very much in its early stages, although the early 70s did see the likes of Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, T-Rex, Alice Cooper and Jimmy Hendrix topping the charts so it was certainly on the public radar.

**PAVED THE WAY FOR JUDAS PRIEST**
Not even 24 hours in and people already do not understand this statement.
"Paved the way" does not mean that Motörhead formed BEFORE Judas Priest. It means Motörhead helped to hypothetically OPEN DOORS for the accessibility of Metal music. It is not a chronological statement.
Definition; to make it easier for (something to happen or someone to do something).
GREAT VIDEO ...THANKS !
Perhaps British and European people are not familiar with the term or maybe they're just stupid idiots?
A lot of people are simpletons who can't read or can't take the time to figure out things they do not immediately understand. Thanks for the documentary. I knew all that info already but its a very good introduction for younger people who are just discovering the band. Well done!
Dude your passion for this video was so clear dude
Amazing job
This is your best video
Because people are not smart lol
He was Lemmy, and he played ROCK AND ROLL!
Lemmy’s music was the way he lived the Rock n Roll lifestyle loud and in your face he truly was something special
I lived in Hollywood, back in 1991 - '96.
I ran into Lemmy just about every time I went to the Rainbow bar & grill.
The first time I met him, I told him I'd just moved down from Humboldt County. He said "Where the f*** is that?"
I told him "Northern California it's where all the good weed comes from!"
He replied "Good weed? I've never heard of bad weed??
On another occasion, he and I were having a conversation... and the drummer (I think it was the drummer) from the rock band Cinderella, came over to proudly show Lemmy his new tattoo... Motorhead album cover on his arm! After he walked away, I said to Lemmy "I think he wants to join your band?"
He responded with "We don't allow 'girls' in our band.
Humbolt Homegrown!!!!! Lived in Blue Lake for a few years!
@@farbeyonddriven8173
Hell yeah, my friend!
@@farbeyonddriven8173
Humboldt Jiu-Jitsu gym hosted many MMA Cage fights at Blue Lake Casio. The cage used, was the same cage we used in the gym.
Slight home field advantage, as they say...
Thanks for sharing your story... Great stuff
@@tearitloosetearitloose4670
Much appreciated!
I'm surprised there was no mention of Lemmy working as a roadie for Jimi Hendrix .
Well considering the guy's knowledge about Motörhead, I'm not....
or that morgan freeman was hauling gear with him
@@adambrower7038now I'm hearing Morgan Freeman narrating the comments I am reading on the video. Thanks and titty sprinkles.
thats because he doesnt know what he is talking about
Or a roadie for The Nice
I actually cried when Lemmy died . He was a big part of my youth . I was born in 71 and as soon as i heard Motorhead hanging with my uncle's i fell in love with Motorhead.
A very fitting tribute. Let's raise a glass to Motorhead!
Hell yeah. I'm in 🤘🥃♠️
Damn right.
♠️
F**k the glass . . . . . give me the bottle!!!!
This was absolutely one of the best tributes to Lem and Motorhead out there! It was rad AF!! \m/
minus all of the mistakes
Disagree, pretty shitty doco imo.
Guy just pretty much copy and pastes previous 2nd hand journocrap.
Motörhead is one of my all time favorite bands. Lemmy is an icon in rock and metal.
I once encountered the blokes from Motörhead, all in black carrying guitar cases in a bus transiting Dubai airport. I looked long and hard at Lemmy, and he stared back at me. I wasn’t quite sure who he was. But in the end I remembered. ‘Hey’ I said, ‘you’re that bloke from Hawkwind!’
He laughed. What a champ! 😂
Hawkwind silver machine Amazing .Well ahead of it's Time.😅
Saw them on the Bomber tour. Loudest band I’ve ever heard. Pissed my mates off as my girlfriend took too long to put on her makeup and we missed the support who were Saxon! Thanks for the tinnitus Lemmy!
Saw Motorhead twice. Lemmy a true rock n roller, icon and legend. Very missed! 🪦🍻
Rock, Punk, Metal, Thrash, Speed, Blues, Prog, Lo-Fi, Boogie..
This band done it all and inspired so many. Rather they/ you, like it or not.
Rest easy, Lemmy..
Greatest band of all time.
You are exactly right with your documentary. I saw them live in Germany, and it was impressing. They came in walking through the audience, and then they played very good hard rock. The loudest I ever have heard.
The first concert I ever attended was the Blizzard Of Oz tour in 1981. Motörhead opened for Ozzy and I had no idea that I was witnessing history.
On the 40th anniversary of the tour I purchased a commemorative concert t shirt from that tour. The response was enlightening. The number of Motörhead fans in the world is a testament to their influence.
We all should live by their standard, Everything Louder than Everything Else!
Saw that same tour, Boston Orpheum theatre
I was ( still am ) a huge Hawkwind fan , when I found out Lemmy started Motorhead, I was an instant fan, I only saw Hawkwind live twice, but saw Motorhead too nany times to count, also met Lemmy a few times at The Rainbow
So happy I got to see Motorhead front row back in 2004. Show kicked ass!
No one else can make such a banger of a documentary on bands like you can man I fucking live for these videos
Headbangers ball style or remember some vh1 video sound like the guy ...hes good i always like his vid even if i dont like the band..loll really good narrator
Lemmy FOREVER ❤
As a musician, playing along to No Sleep 'til Hammersmith on guitar is a memory I hold very near and dear to me. Not a dull moment to be had on that live album whatsoever.
Can't believe you didn't mention the insane volume of his bass cabinets! Great work man! Lemmy 4 life🤘
To be fair, I did say it sounded like a world war two bomber plane! haha
He gave reference to it,,same thing lol

Motörhead forever...61 yr old from Australia says thank you very much \m/
You did a good job on this tribute. Glad you used my image at the end. That is from the Motorizer photoshoot we did for Album. Also, the shot of Lem pointing came out of that shoot.
Great work sir
@@SimplyGiveUp-sp3ld That is true if you haven't worked with. With Motorhead I was pretty much their photographer along with GNR. They were my main bands that I toured with. So being friends it was easy to get shots like the pointing pic stuff like that. Lemmy knew what I wanted and I knew what he liked. But yes, when you don't know someone you kind of just hang out and shoot. You can tell when they get comfortable. I usually just ask them what they would like and we can create it together. That know one will ever see shots unless they are approved. That is my rule. They have to trust you to get the best shot.
When I heard them first time in the late 70's I was hooked - and still am until today. Absolutely great tribute. Nothing left to add then - thank you and Motörhead forever
Great little doc about the original Three Amigos......For me (and the narrator too I suspect)the band was over when Philthy Phil Taylor and Fast Eddie left the band.
Thank you for making this Rockumentary!!!! Lemmy and the boys played an important role in my life growing up. It's still hard to believe the original 3 are gone....RIP!!! "They were Motörhead...they played Rock n Roll"
They weren't the original line-up.
@TheVidkid67 That I know...the 1st incarnation of Motörhead was Lemmy,Larry Wallace n Lucas Fox. The line up of Lemmy,Fast Eddie n Philthy was the Line up that put them on the map
my man, this was great!!! but no shit, you should do a mercyful fate one.
I concur
This was and absolutely fantastic history about Motörhead and Lemmy Kilmister and his band a legend how will never be forgotten and stil love his music and hard work in music.!
Saw them live at the Ogden in Denver. 99 I think… been to a lot of shows, but this was still the LOUDEST! My ears are still buzzing 🤘
Fucking Beautiful, man. Well done. Short, sweet, and straight to the history. Since Lemmy's passing, I've seen so many tripover so many things; from his D.O.D., to his Rickenbacker. So thank you, from the bottom of this loyal fans heart.
Motorhead! 🤘
Motörhead
Saw Motörhead and Girls school on Colwyn Bay Pier Bach in the day. Brilliant night. 🏴🇬🇧🇺🇸
When we practiced in Dollis Hill Motorhead came in with all their equipment and a flight case full of Budweiser, once they started sound checking all the other bands in the studio stopped playing and went out in the hallway to have a listen, they were too loud for anyone else to practice anyway, will never forget that. R.I.P Motorhead.
rehearsing isn't something I ever associate with Motorhead haha
@@RAWMUSICTV Agreed, I think they just wanted to drink and pretend they were rehearsing.. lol - this was back '92.
I wonder why they didn’t bring any real beer, perhaps they liked to rehearse sober. 😂😂😂😂
What a great tribute to Lemmy and Motörhead. I liked the way you did this video, short but accurate as Lemmy himself was. Long live Rock 'N' Roll, and long live Lemmy/Motörhead.
Long live Motörhead!! Lemmy4Ever ♠️
Have you considered putting together a documentary on Gwar? Or Buckethead? Gwar is my favorite metal band,ä. And my love for Buckethead has a crazy story.
I first heard the name "Buckethead" in a list of the fastest guitar players ever. The name and image intrigued me and I decided to take a further look. I bought Monsters And Robots on CD about 10 years back. And I just recently listened to his entire discography. Very time consuming but I enjoyed every minute of it. 3,191 songs. I did it over the course of last summer, chugging through his earlier works, and then listening to every Pike album. Twas a journey, and I haven't gotten tired of them. But yes. Gwar has barely been covered anywhere I've looked. Consider it. Great work on everything you've put out.
Amazing!!! Eating for this documentary for a while. Glad to see it's here !!! LEMMY FPREVER!!!!
That was a nice tribute video and history lesson on Lemmy & MOTÖRHEAD. An in depth documentary on MOTÖRHEAD could easily be over 4 hours long covering the over 35 years of the band, the albums, members, record labels, road crews, superfans, ect, ect. I always loved MOTÖRHEAD since I heard Metallica's cover of Damage Case and immediately went out to find a MOTÖRHEAD album that contained it. All these years later and MOTÖRHEAD is still my favorite band that I listen to almost daily. ♠️♦️♥️🍀
I was lucky enough to see the classic line up in Germany in December 1981, support by Tank, They were loud. I saw the band a couple of times later, but I always preferred the Clarke/ Taylor line up.
Bloody hell. Tank! Yeah. Think I saw "Dunderhead" 😂 back then also. 4 gigs then the line up changed at a gig at Hull City Hall.
I believe I saw them approx 400 times. No regrets, No remorse.
Wow, Motorhead and Tank! That must have been incredible
Saw them in Germany in 81 with Philthy, Fast Eddie and Lemmy. I had never heard anything so loud. I had to move back a little to actually figure out what song they were playing. My ears rang for days. Loved every second of it.
Motorhead Has been Part of my Life Just Fantastic Saw then Loads Miss you Lem
Saw them in Manchester in '79 with Def leppard and girlschool, circle, stage left, in front of the speakers ! best thing I saw was Lemmy in the wings all the way through the girls set rockin his arse off... wonderful ..Rest In Noise xx
from the first time i heard Ace of Spades of this band i was hooked: Motörhead. And to this day it is. They are a way of life.
Love how honest you were at the end. Thats how I feel about a few of my favorite bands as well. Hard to put into words. Great vid! Please do one on the great Judas Priest!
Awesome documentary! Rest in Peace Lemmy! 🤘⚡️💥🍻
So very well done on this, so many odds and ends here that few knew and only added to the wonder that was Motorhead!
RIP Lemmy, and the original two band members.
I used to call myself a big fan of rock and metal but i never listened to motorhead and the first time i listened to ace of spades i fell in love with the band and lemmy's voice and i listened to practicly all their songs.
Lemmy is an absolute legend
Great job! I love Motörhead even have it tattooed on me! When I listen to Motörhead so do my neighbors!
Thank's a lot for this video! Lemmy - true rock'n'roll legend. Motorhead one of the greatest metal bands in the Universe. Greetings from Ukraine.
Huge thanks for putting this together, cheers!!!
Great one man!
Well done Sir , Thanks for sharing 👍
Outstanding. Thanks from the bottom of my heart for putting this together. Awesome. Lem would have approved.

Wow great job. ROCK ON 🤘
Next to Black Sabbath, Motörhead is my favorite band ever!
Brilliantly done, very enjoyable ♤
Great Documentary best band ever by far
Really Heartfelt documentary thanks
loved this documentary.
Good doc. Thanx.😊
Brilliant, cheers.
I saw Motorhead play back in 85. One day when I was watching a video called Eat the Rich I was knocked over by the intensity. All the metal bands were to fast and heavy for me because I was of a slower pace. Then I heard some slow but heavy stuff more my speed and began a relationship with now one of my all time favorite bands. So well yes "Motorhead" forever. I'm going to find a shirt with that logo . I like the speed metal a little more now as I could use the energy. +better equipment. And I like that feeling of flying. Also so many friends are in my list from all over the world. That is great feeling ..we can all relate to this band .no need to look back!!!
Bloody brilliant.
Im going to be late for work because if this!
Your ypung and you've got your health, what do you want with a job..lmfao
MOTORHEAD FOR FUKN

Love these docs

you make such great docs man.
\m/ great documentary man f’n love motorhead even though I know allllll about motorhead being a fan you know we don’t truly know everything R.I.P. Lemmy! Dude was an absolute legend will never be forgotten!
If any musician is completely honest, especially those into any form of rock n roll, they would have to admit that Motorhead are the epitome and manifestation of what rock 'n roll actually is.
Awesome documentary...
What a band
VERY COOL BRO!!
🖤 Damn i miss Lemmy 🖤
Lemmy was a man ahead of his time. Lemmy is GOD
THANK YOU!!!!
I love most of the bands you covered in your channel. I really hope you do a video on Faith No More!
Motörhead war eine großartige Band

Legends never die. Even when they are killed by death.
This was so really fukk'n brilliant to see! -::Long Live Lemmy::-
Nice one 😁
Seen them many times and met lemmy once. My favorite band 🤘🤘🤘
Thanks for this and congrats. Any chance there will be more documentaries pertaining to solely just albums similar to your Black Sabbath videos? Those ones really caught my attention. Cheers!
Good stuff.
Saw them in Buffalo backing Blizzard of Oz in 1981
The first time hearing motorhead blew me away. I was about 6 or 7 at the time. Im old so being a fan since that age means a really long time. I wanted to take my son to see Motorhead on what would be their final tour through here. Things happened and we couldn't go. I wish we could have.
Yk what cool is that I was born after on Christmas while Lenny was born on Christmas Eve that fucking sick rip Lenny your a god 🤘
The Sacrifice album playing in the background is one of my favorites 🤘😎🤘
Dude you rock just like lemmy. ACE OF SPADES FOREVER
From 80 to 84 i saw them a few times a year in Stoke on Trent.Vicky hall.Back stage after for a laugh and an autograph.Ears ringin for days..They were loud and fast..Always had to walk the 5 miles back cos o missin the last bus,to Neck End and a bollocking for being late again.Great days of music those were.
