  • Learn about one of Fort Tryon Park's newest conifers that welcomes visitors at the Broadway/Arden Street entrance! Many of Fort Tryon Park's trees pre-date the creation of this NYC public park that opened on October 12, 1935. Some newer trees and non-native species are chosen by the NYC Parks Director of Horticulture for their ornamental qualities or other well-considered reasons for why they work in the park.
Watch TWO MINUTES WITH TREES, a 10-part video series presented by the Fort Tryon Park Trust and hosted by NYC author and naturalist Leslie Day. The series features some of the most spectacular trees in northern Manhattan's 67-acre Fort Tryon Park - a New York City public park designated a Scenic Landmark in 1983.
