Two Minutes with Trees in Fort Tryon Park - ATLAS BLUE CEDAR

Learn about one of Fort Tryon Park's newest conifers that welcomes visitors at the Broadway/Arden Street entrance! Many of Fort Tryon Park's trees pre-date the creation of this NYC public park that opened on October 12, 1935. Some newer trees and non-native species are chosen by the NYC Parks Director of Horticulture for their ornamental qualities or other well-considered reasons for why they work in the park.
