Hey East Tactics thanks for another informative vid bro👍. I implemented your cooling tactics with those exact fans and man the difference it makes is absolutely amazing!!! These fans are crazy. I just bought some 3s balance lead connectors and soldered the male end to the fan leads and that brought the cost down a little more.
Yes… Those are pretty clean, for me after shipping it comes to $25.19. Also he’s got the connection for 3S battery which is great. However the other side is a compatible connection for his fans, which if you go with his fans feel great. My DIY process actually has you convert the inbound fans from AliExpress to JR connectors. Which basically gives you the option to directly plug into your ESC or your receiver box. But yeah, GCRC is a legit and has more fair pricing.
Great video. FYI - the Yeah racing YA-0600 heat sink mount appears not a good match for the spektrum SPMXSM1700 in my 6s EXB. Motor is approx 40mm diameter and the YA-0600 is suited to 40.8mm. Didn't check this before purchase and too much slop. Guess I could wedge something inbetween to take up the 1mm but not ideal.
Yes, some of these heat sinks actually do come with a thin metal sleeve. You could probably take a deconstructed hose clamp and fit some pieces hidden in there.
I appreciate you setting up the Amazon "buy list" but those iexcell M3 0.5 hex screws are terrible. They're 304 grade stainless steel, which is significantly softer than even 6061 aluminum. I bought them anyway, but i regret it because the heads on them strip so fast they were useless for me. I couldn't even screw one more than 3/4 of the way into my 40mm fan before the head stripped and i had to rotate it out with pliers. Not cool. Anyway, the rest of the tutorial works, so thanks for that.
Ya, the concept of wiring is all going to be the same. I plan to drop a new video really soon that goes into more details about the wiring, nothing really new, just more of a visual breakdown. That said, I'm not really as familiar with whats available on the market for 1/5 scale vehicles. What I can tell you is that I recommend (especially if your running a BASHER) that you find a heat sink that mounts super securely, ideally one that wraps all the way around. What interesting is that the yea racing heat sink (that i plan to drop a vid on really soon where i retrofit the 40mm fan too) it comes pre set to take two 30mm fans. Anyway what I was about to say about that heat sink, is that it might actually be compatible with your larger can motor. You see... most people think that the four stub posts that it ships with are for putting under the fans. Well... thats not the case (in fact I would never recommend lifting the fans up off the heat sink with the posts, thats a sure fire way to destroy fans for a basher) Instead... those little posts, they ship 4 of them, are actually supposed to be used as a spacer between the top and bottom pieces of the mount itself, to potentially allow it to fit on larger cans. Im not saying it will fit on yours... but hey... it might. As far as what fans to use, I would still say the same fans I recommend from alliExpress would be fine. Heck maybe you could set two side by side on your motor. Either way, since i haven't done much research as far as whats available for larger cans... there might be a really nice heat sink out there, that would be better then this little yea racing heat sink that only comes pre built to hold two tiny 30 mm fan. So search Ebay, amazon, alliExpress, and just plain google for images of what might work for ya. Now regarding your ESC. again im not super familiar with mounts that are comparable with the larger ESC, my guess is that they exist. have you checked that ALZA website I referenced to se what they have? If you have a basher I would stay away from 3d printed mounts. My other thought is, have you considered just still using the same mounts and fan from the 1/8 scale ESC? will they not fit on your ESC. Just make sure that whatever set up you use for your ESC that that fan is supported directly underneath it, meaning in the center. Sorry for the overly long response. Wish I knew more about 1/5 setups.
Supposedly xmaxx heatsink will squeaze onto most 56/58mm can motors. But honestly a fan alone is usually good for those big boi motors. My leopard 5892 barely gets warm in my xmaxx. Same motor in kraton 8s but only ran it this winter so temps are gonna be low.
that’s strange? You’re using a 3S battery correct? The 3S battery balance terminal should be comprised of four wires, one red on an outside edge, and then three black. In our use Use case you will remove thetwo center black ones. Are you powering your fans with something other than a 3S batteries? Either way...red should already be the outer most on the one side. And then use/keep the outer most black on the other side. Then just make sure that when connected, the red lines up w/red and black to outer black
@@EastTactics yes and I noticed u said the same is that u cut off the 2 middle but I fan upmost swear there was o 3 wires I just checked the website I ordered it from n in the pic it shows 4 .. I’ll check when I get bk home I really appreciate ur help!!!
Hey East tactic I purchase the Tattu battery, I have the The smart technology charging system and noticed that the battery terminal is smaller how do I charge it? Thanks
That’s the 3S battery correct?. You simply just need to pick up a small adapter that will convert your classic EC 5 down to the smaller 3S battery. I’ll send you a link here in a few minutes for it amzn.to/3qU3jwy

I think it does but I’m not really sure which country any of these fan vendors are from LOL
Awesome, I would say of the 3rd party venders selling these packages, Game Changer Rc is the best price. What RC do you run? Also... if your willing could you drop a link (for others to see) of the eBay package you snagged? Thx
They are rated for 12 V, however I have heard of people running them with higher voltage )like a 4s battery. I don’t have enough experience to say exactly how much of a toll this will play on the fan life longevity. But when these fans are only five bucks or so seems to me like not a big deal to try it.
You’d be surprised how quickly your motor and ESC can get hot. Simply driving on the street, or through Grass, can you get those heats up. Especially during warmer season. Anything past the provided stock Gearing Calls for consideration of providing extra cooling. For example my V4 Kraton came with a 13t Pinion stock, and 15t high speed pinion. The moment I went to 16t just one tooth higher, I noticed my temps surpassing recommended thresholds. I actually wanted to run 18t which definitely calls for quality cooling, which is why these high power fans rock. Picking up a heat gun detector is a great idea too. Motor Ideal - 140° 60° C Hot - 150 - 160° 65.5° - 71.1° C Overheat - 165° 74°C
@@EastTactics thanks for the info bro so basically if I’m bashing leave the stock gear in not speed speed gear. I was hoping I could run speed gear and bash if I got a cooling fan and cover. Your saying I’ll heat up motor if I do. That’s the info I was needing thanks bud.
@@mr.davidson3314 If you bash with the Stock gearing, either 13t, or 15t, you can bash to your hearts content, and shouldn't need to add additional cooling to your setup. However, if you decide to put a pinion gear past 15t, then adding cooling to your motor is recommended, especially in the hot season. Now... if you add cooling to your Motor, such as these high power 40mm fans, you can toss in a higher pinion (such as say 17T) and you should be fine... even in the summer.
@@EastTactics thank you bud for the info now I feel better bashing just get a 40mm fan and I’m good. Awesome. Just watched your video on how to install

@@EastTactics I just got the Integy 1/8 heat sink for the DBXLe. It’s skinny but fits a 56mm can perfectly + you can mount TWO 40mm fans to it. They’ll mount their inner edge onto the heatsink.
Nice! I assume you’ve already got a lot of the miscellaneous components. That’s awesome. Course you can always search AliExpress for the exact same one in a single pack instead of a three pack. Thanks for watching.
I have a hot racing monster blower fan and it connects directly my 6s battery. I would like to set up a game changer fan the same way. The HR fan says its 14.8vDC rated but 6s is 22.2v. What is the voltage rating on the game changers?
They are rated at 12v and recommend to run of a 3s 11.1v battery. So your throwing 22.2v at a fan rated for 14.8? Yowza! What’s the amp output of those monster fans?
I’m not sure on amperage draw, but it’s advertised for 6s vehicle. Most likely intended for 4s voltage. It’s a 50mm fan. Hot racing monster blower fan Part#: HRAAON505F02. Look it up and see the parallel connector for the fan. I would like to hook up an upgraded fan more suited for 6s voltage in the same manner.
That’s why I was asking about amperage. If that 50mm fan is running directly from 22.2 V 6s battery, does it sound like a tornado? Or are you seeing these GCRC fans blowing harder? I can’t believe there’s only one video on RUclips regrading these hot racing 50mm fans, and it not even in English!
My guess, is that these high-powered 40 mm fans put out more cooling power than that monster fan, even though they are rated at 12v. So because 3S batteries are 11.1 V output you maximize power to the 40 mm fans by using a 3S battery. I can only assume that it would probably be a bad idea at least for the long haul to run a fan that’s rated at 12 V direct from a 6S battery rated at 22.2 V. I’m sure it would work but you might burn the fan out over time. That all said if you only run one 6s battery in your vehicle, Instead of two 3S batteries. Then your best bet to take advantage of these 40 mm fans is to pick up a small 3s 850 mA battery to run these 40 mm fans. Either that or if you’ve got the ability to run your RC with 2 3S batteries, You could always run one of your fans directly into one of those charging ports.
@@EastTactics I’m not so sure about that. 50mm vs 40mm at the same speed the 50mm will move more air. The KV of the motor multiplied by voltage applied will tell you the max rpm. I’m guessing it comes down to the KV between these motors. I cant find any details on that though. I don’t want to add the weight of another battery to my rig.
Does the spectrum ESC have a similar set up as the BLX185? Meaning the same mount that one would use for the BLX 185 could also be used on the spectrum correct. I would assume so. Just to be clear, are you saying you broke the stock fan and you found this video because you think it would be a good alternative. Or you bought this fan that I’m showcasing in the video, and it broke. I just wanna make sure I’m not misunderstanding. I would be shocked if the fan from AliExpress I recommend here, broke.

I recked my fan in my new spectrum esc/ kraton 6s v5
Does the spectrum ESC have a similar set up as the BLX185? Meaning the same mount that one would use for the BLX 185 could also be used on the spectrum correct. I would assume so.
This Fan I’m showcasing in this video would be a great alternative especially if you incorporate the shock mitigation tactics. Let me know what you go with. Thanks for watching my vid😎👍
@@EastTactics yes it dose this is my 2nd day with it and I broke the fan just running it on the road
@@EastTactics yes
Didn't see anything about links to product...lol
You couldn’t find the link? To which product?
All that information, and you couldn't turn them on a single time so we can see the power of the fans?
Most likely because it’s part of a playlist. And I went over it in a different video. Sorry.
This link below is saved at the exact timestamp where you’ll hear the fan.

I have fan aimed at battery 🤣 Yes that can't get to hot either. I run big battery. It gets hotter on long runs you can protect your motor the electric but disrespect you lipo and your rc goes up in smoke.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤭
1st!
Ya brother!!
