    what you say about the coloured tents casting a tint onto the flowers is what I, as an interior designer tell people about their closets. Always white so that your clothes etc. showcase their true colour.

    I think the dog waterer is a really great idea. Of course it’s good for the dogs but yes I can see where it would be an added benefit. Once people start they’ll actually take a good look at the beautiful flowers where otherwise they might just walk by thinking oh that’s pretty

    I love it thank you so much! This can be an overwhelming thing for a beginner! My first market I had 10 bouquets one black table a chair and me. I sold out but wow with no cover it was sooo hot. I just had to see if I could do it.

    So I recently found your page and I've been loving it. I'm kind of doing a mix of some veg, flowers, and ornamental fall setup (pumpkin, corn, gourds), but I just wanted to say, holy cow. This is the first time I've seen Adam without a beard. He looks totally different!

    Thank you so much for sharing this! Just the hearing about the white canopy is valuable, I have an orange color umbrella over my stand and it definitely takes away from the beautiful colors of the flowers. Oddly, didn't think about changing it, so thank you!!

    I'm so glad this popped up in my feed, I subbed and will check out your other platforms and videos. I have a small farmstead in northwest florida. I like all your ideas that you shared in this video. You mentioned only one person sets up at the farm market so I reckon the canopy must be manageable for one person to set up, can you share the brand, style, model of canopy you have? Thank you.

    Question...what about when it gets windy? Won't all of your table cloths and stands fall over and blow around?

    • @PepperHarrow
      @PepperHarrow  3 года назад +2

      That’s why Jenn liked to put the top cloth under the buckets, to keep it from blowing around. The weight of the product helps keep the cloths from blowing around.

    This is great but the other thing you want to make sure you do is pull your tables back far enough so that if it’s raining your customer is not standing under the drip line of your tent. I can’t tell you how many times this happens to me at my local farmers market

    Thank you for the video! I'm mystified by the QR code payment you mention. I would love to offer this, but If they can just scan the QR code with their phone, take the product, and go - how do you know that the customer actually paid you? Couldn't they just hold their phone as if they were scanning, but not do anything? Sorry to be suspicious, I'm just not a techie so don't quite get it. Thanks again!

    Excellent Share… thank you BOTH for being wise, generous with your wisdom… humble yet confident (in what you HAVE learned over time & experience) and remain OPEN to continued learning (and never allowing your “glass to be full” (unable to ‘learn more))
    One Question please… many Farmer’s Markets are 8-2 (6 hours) with (1) Staff Member working @ $15/Hour… you can guesstimate $100 in Labor… (and $20-$60 in Booth Fee…) since you seem to find value in taking (2) spaces… we can guess/assume that you have $100/Booth/Space Rental & $100 in Labor ($200 Plus Time, Effort , Energy in Bouquet Creation, Input costs, growing and transportation… plus commerce fees for Credit Card Processing, etc…)
    Question: WHAT IS THE Minimum Gross Dollar Amount In Farmer Market Sales that will Keep YOU coming back to THAT Market? $300? $400? $500? $1000? AND… will you return to SAME Market Weekly… OR do you give it a break… and let it breath… and return every other week? (Assuming the Market in your area is “every Wednesday & Saturday” throughout June, July & August? AND… (sorry… this is like my 3rd Question:) HOW MANY Farmer’s Markets (and WHAT Geographic Radius) will you consider… when Planning Your YEAR… now that you’ve been at it over a decade? I can only GUESS that you’re budgeting (at least) 20 FM’s annually… however you could ALSO be working up to (and more than…) 100+ Farmer Markets…??? What do you Budget (or Target GOAL) Per Hour… or Per Market in Gross Revenue?
    OMG… ok… one LAST question… IS there (enough) value in ancillary “exposure” for relationship building (wedding connections and conversations) and simply PR… to ALSO keep you showing up weekly… even “if” the numbers at a particular FM… are below target? Thank You SO MUCH for your time answering any of my questions… let alone… all of them! You are (by far) the MOST interesting and straight forward compelling Flower Farm Channel on RUclips! Keep it UP… Very Appreciated!!!

      Hi Jim, whew, that’s a lot! Ha! We only do one farmers market and it’s Saturdays only. We’re lucky that it’s one of the best farmers markets in the country with roughly 20,000 people attending weekly. It’s definitely worth it for us just for the exposure alone. We meet so many people that haven’t heard of us before and it does generate additional business. We’ve been running it ourselves until this past year where we were able to have our employees run it. Not including hours at the market, there’s a tremendous amount of labor we also have to consider in getting product to market (seeding, planting, maintaining, harvesting, and prepping product for sale.) This is a great subject for a video!
