Max Caulfield, photographer-in-residence at the prestigious Caledon University, discovers her closest new friend, Safi, dead in the snow. Murdered. To save her, Max tries to Rewind time - a power she’s not used in years… instead Max opens the way to a parallel timeline where Safi is still alive, and still in danger! Max realizes the killer will soon strike again - in both versions of reality.
Only Max can Shift between the two parallel timelines to solve and prevent the same murder.

It'd be nice if it was anything at all like og Max in looks, voice, or personality and didn't just feel like a completely different character that happens to also have a camera. I know people change as they get older but voice and especially face, not THAT much and the personality isn't that awkward Max flavor we grew to love.

@@samuhannila7207 That's the odd thing. It's the same voice actress but she still doesn't quite manage to sound like the same character. Getting older doesn't make you higher pitched. Or it's just the cheerful way she's trying to talk now causing her to raise her pitch. But either way, it's not Max anymore.

Ive read the comics, idk if this is the same Max from those comics but her timeline jumping powers are present in the comic. Theres a timeline where Max, Rachel, Chloe meet then theres one where Max and Chloe dad die in the same crash.
Basically, they can change anything they want with the story really. Such is life when the multiverse is a plot device
Well they said theres no canon ending for them. So anything is possible. Also the comics aren't canon either so idk we will see.
Maybe this is the timeline that branched off from the original timeline when Max tried to escape the Dark Room. Her photo won the contest and she was invited to go in San Francisco with the Principal.
The storm still hit Arcadia Bay but Chloe was left in there as well. She died from the storm while Max was in San Francisco.
In LIS 1 though, Max obviously went back and fixed it but maybe doing so resulted in another version of her failing to rewind and couldn't save Chloe.

Max: I mean, I guess I'm not. It's more like sometimes you reach the destination alone, and that's ok.
It makes me think about the ending of LIS1, where even after a week with Chloe, she had to die in the very beginning to save the town and all their innocent friends and families. At the end, Max is alone, but all their journey are still in her memory. And that's ok.
I have weird feeling that the killer is actually Max from another dimension/timeline, like, think about it, if there are two different versions of each person and two different timelines she can travel through then theres should be another Max. Man, I can not wait to play this game!

The story seems really interesting! The graphics are beautiful! The music sounds amazing! The facial animations are really good!
I honestly don't have much of an issue if Chloe isn't physically in this game. I'm just happy to have another LIS game!
I'm excited for this but I did notice that the facial animation seems to be quite stale. There are some decent parts but some other parts just don't look quite right. Also, I don't know if it's just this section but the dialogue always seems quite tamed. Probably because Chloe isn't here to throw chaos around.

She can go in time when a photo was taken so that first photo in this game is probably the ending resolution to finding her killer 2. him saying the meteor won't hit in this lifetime is a call back to Chole saying a tornado won't hit for another 30 years so the meteor will hit 3. she is foreshadowing the world ending when she says she would take a pic if the world was ending...

Max looks different but we have to keep in mind that he is already 28 years old, and the truth is that the change in the graphics engine is also very noticeable, a great advance. And regarding the story mm I have a good feeling, both in the opening sequence, the ambient music, the moment when you start to notice strange things, it reminds me a little of the first life. I don't know what will come of this but as a fan, it feels so good to see Max again. Another interesting point is the moment when Max reveals why he left everything behind. I don't know, I liked it, safe purchase. I love the songs in this part.

The original artistic style of LiS through LiS2 is so much more enjoyable to me than this low-rent Pixar / Polar Express / Uncanny Valley production thing they are doing now. If the story is still good I'll eventually pick it up, but I won't jump on it like I did True Colors, which turned out to be just a lot of beige.

They said that they did not canonize either ending. There will likely be a choice before you start, like in LiS2, where you choose if you sacrificed Chloe or Arcadia Bay.
I gotta say.. it's a missed opportunity for not canonizing the save Chloe ending/comic books.

@@bluekawashima-9012 yes all of them, ig that first scene with them talking was just even more awkward than any of the games tbh, lis 1 might have shakabrah, but "horniest grandma" and "hypothermia" are the weirdest bits I've ever seen, the whole first scene feels a little disconnected from a writing standpoint is all, it's less about the quirkiness and more about just bad dialogue and conversation flow. the rest of the gameplay is fine it definitely gets better as it goes on

It's so wonderful to see how Max kind of bloomed over the years. You can see her personality opened up and there's a lot more nuance to her. She looks happy :)
Since there will be two parallel timelines, I'd guess one is following the bay and the other the bae ending. I also think if you saved Chloe, you can't save Safi as well. Then again, it's always Max manipulating the natural outcome of things that causes all the havoc. But at this point in time, we don't know anything.
They said multiple times the games are standalone so why would a choice you make in the first game affect the fact if you can or can’t save safi?
