Their debut album Hunting High and Low is from 1985 - this is where you find Take On Me, Train Of Thought, Hunting High and Low, The Sun Always Shines on TV, Living A Boy's Adventure Tale, I Dream Myself Alive, Here I Stand and Face The Rain, The Blue Sky, Love Is Reason, And You Tell Me - all of them magnificent! What a debut album! And you know what? Their sophomore album Scoundrel Days is EVEN BETTER!

The video for Train of Thought is based on Michael Patterson's student film Commuter, which was the direct inspiration for the Take on me video, and drawn by the same man. Steve Barron directed both videos. Funny you mention Madonna. As 'Marika' she sang a version of Take on Me on a TV show. Madonna was obviously also inspired by Morten Harket in her style. Many may not know that he was the first to start with leather straps around the wrists, and the torn denim pants were a result of Morten tearing his worn denim pants on an amplifier as he rushed on stage.

I became an AHA fan back in the take on me days of 1985 when i was 16 years old, I’m 53 and still a huge fan of theirs. The viking invasion of 1985. AHA are a criminally unappreciated and hugely underrated band from Oslo, Norway made up of 3 very talented men. AHA have a huge back catalogue of music and take on me is just the tip of an extremely large musical iceberg and a wonderful journey at that but don’t let me convince you check them out for yourself and you’ll see. I grew up on this album. Still a great favourite. Same album that Take On Me is on. It's one of those rare albums where all the tracks are worthy of being released as a single.
Morten (singer) has always had a clean, plain almost posh English accent in all his interviews (in English). He said he didn't speak alot of English before leaving Norway but you can't tell. Sometimes it's actually weird to hear him speak his own language.
