the NFL will NEEEEVVVVEEERRR have a metal band.....or even a hard rock band play the superbowl. they pretty much admitted that they only choose trendy top 40 pop acts to satisfy women. yes, there ARE women out there who really love football but there's so many more that don't. so for superbowl parties, the men can watch the game & the women could look forward to the halftime show....therefore everyone's "happy".

Maroon 5 is a pop rock band, but it's the closest we'll ever get of a rock type band performing. I love maroon 5 and I thought their halftime show wasn't bad. But everyone hated it. I know you can't impress everyone but if they got panned by everyone, I can't imagine the NFL thinking that Metallica would be a good choice.
