Not really, canals are a very common hiding place after getting away from cops and when they lost him he was pretty much driving in that general direction so it makes sense to check

Cop players are literally used to searching everywhere. Cops have been around the block enough to think "let me check this spot just in case" and 9 times out 10 will find who they are looking for. People only claim it's "sus" because that's all they know to do when if you watch any cop pov it's literally just sheer dumb luck.
