You can buy the SE on at&t prepay for that price, but they you also need to buy a $45 prepay service card. Still a steal, but that's because it's been out for quite a while. I think it orginaly sold for around $500

If you’re claiming you can find a $500 Android phone that’s better than a $1000 iPhone then you’re not doubt just gonna throw specs at me with no context, so Imma just counter that now. A high resolution OLED can still look cheap and shitty. A shitload of RAM doesn’t matter if it’s used inefficiently. Megapixel count means fuck all for camera quality. Triple or quadruple or however many cameras don’t matter if half of them suck. And worst of all, unlike Apple who will put their newest CPU in their cheapest phone, if I go out and buy a new Android for $500, I’ll be stuck with a shitty SD765G that’s outperformed by the SD845 from 3 years ago.

As a recent convert, I agree. Back in android land, I have to buy a new phone every year because battery or screen may fail. But in apple land, a second hand iphone lasted three years and still going strong even after being dropped and drowned in water. This just cemented my position as a pro apple, after being anti apple since my whole life.
Actually, a lot of older Android phones have removable batteries and you can still get batteries for them too. So the battery thing you said about old Android phones isn't usually true.

No he's not this guys obviously not an android user, EVER... If he was he'd know this does not happen. Percentages drain faster with old batteries, but it still runs at full speed. On newer versions of android you can even put it into a low power mode that lets you intentionally slow it down to make the battery last longer (but that's your choice not forced about you without any notification of doing so). Or ultra ultra low power mode that makes the battery last insanely long, but it's slowed down and you can only use a very few number of apps. The difference is android lets the user decide if they want to use that feature, apple forces it and tries to hide it. (Or well they did until we caught them! ) ;)
The Martian that also depends because like an old psp, the third party batteries are shit!!! If Samsung decides to stop manufacturing batteries for phones 4 years or older its either an original that has barley been used or third party shit that may or may not work.

Apple did not even implement the CPU controls on iPhone 5S. They had smaller screens and needed less voltage. So they did not shut down.

And as far as his statement about Mac hardware is concerned, its totally un-true considering the only reason the 2011 MacBook Pro works fine (I own it too) is because of the consistent software optimisations and updates being pushed to the system because I honestly don't think 2011 hardware would work this good even in 2018.

You plug in the ipad into the computer, open itunes, select ipad or device, and on the page where it tells you about the ipad with the pic of it, to the right there will be a restore to previous ios button. That button is the button that will fix all your problems, or move on to the new $330 ipad

my dad is still using his 5s, though he is running iOS 0 on it cause he has no space to update. he can't use iTunes cause his laptop is an old toshiba from 2007 and it has no space either to download the update.
iTunes supports Windows 7 and up, your dad could upgrade to Windows 7.
I got my S2 still, however it's a slow phone its still as fast as it was when I got it I don't believe in phone's slowing down because I have an older iPhone as well it's the same as my S2
Steff When you update you actually get space back. You just need the space to have all the things to update it, but once it’s done, all that space you used for that update is back and sometimes you get more space.

With my galaxy s8, the battery was incredible when I first got it. Within a couple months the battery was just like every other phone out there.
Galaxy phones are great 😁 I use an 11 pro max and a note 10, and while I prefer the 11 I think the note 10 is pretty cool

It does not sound like the original video was very serious. The whole comment about Apple releasing a new charging port every year was an obvious exaggeration. As a non-apple user I would say we've moved through charging ports at a MUCH slower pace. Just guessing we were on I think mini-usb for what seems like over a decade before USB-C started taking off.
The original video wasn't that serious and if there were pushes to respond to it, it should've been dismissed as such.
Alloy I can't say I follow all of these guys that closely. But it sounds like a lot of drama that isn't worth the energy of a full 20 minute video.

Spot on video. I'm not a typical Apple Fanboy, but the phrase "it just works" does actually applies to Apple products. After having so many headaches using windows based products I stepped over to Apple products. Yes, in many ways Apple cost me more but it did come with those many less problems that I truly think it's worth every penny.
I disagree with your talk about battery degrading. The Galaxy S8 and S9 both have batteries that degrade 5% in the first 2 years. On an iPhone it degrades 20% the first year. I own a an S8 and I haven't noticed hardly any battery life degridation in the year that I have owned it. You could argue the fact that I have only owned it for a year, but Apple slowed down the iPhone 7 for the same reason as slowing down the older iPhones which was because of batteries degrading. They did that only a year after it was released. You could argue again that the S8 has slowed down for better battery life, but since my Android 8 update, it runs like new and the scores on Geekbench have actually increased and AnTuTu is giving me a consistent score. Sure, I might not get the latest updates as soon as they come out and I might only get 2 major ones at most, but it absolutely beats having your phone slowing down without customer's consent.
Oddly enough my iPhone 7 is still working just as fine back to back to my XS. It depends when you bought it and how you used it. Also, if you were to buy an iPhone 7 right now, it'd work just as fast as if you bought one a year ago. They don't slow down older models, they slow down models that's been used long enough where the battery might be taking a hit already.

Get Linux (Linux Mint) then...you can get it looking pretty nice. It can also install updates without needing a restart and it tells you how dangerous a certain update will be.
Its also free and will run on nearly anything

I think you misunderstood the premise of the Video, he said that Apple has started with Planned Obsolescence now, thats why newer devices are dying faster and old devices still work,
The Slowdown update was only discovered by accident, had it not been discovered, apple would have gotten away with it, not informing customers about their battery health and throttling is a cunty move, after being caught red-handed, they had to offer battery replacements at a very low cost
That said, many Li-Ion batteries have a good lifetime of 6 years before they start to degrade, it was easier to replace in the old days (both apple and android phones)
What i think he means with "using cheap parts" is quick degrading li-ion bats and un repairable electronics (see louise rossmann) filling up junkyards with unrepairable heavy metal bricks
Wireless future is nice, but we aren't there yet, not by a long shot, battery tech needs like a 20 fold improvement to even allow that, "Taking away options" is the issue, like you can just use bluetooth on any phone, and plug a standard headphone if you bluetooth battery went dead .

adwebb2 no they didnt. The phones kept shutting off around 20-30%. They slow the cpu down so that the phone can last until 0. If you have an iphone, you would know this.
yes i know that . my friends iphone 6s started shutting down with up to 70% battery . never see that on android . apple are honest now about throttling just because they got caught doing it

the throttling only happened to phones with a highly degraded battery..... to make them last longer. once the battery is replaced they go back up to 100% performance until the battery degrades past that point again. ALL phones batteries will do this because ALL phones use the exact same battery technology Li-ion.... some may degrade slightly quicker or slower than others because of software features the company implements but the actual battery technology itself is the exact same in every.single.phone.

Great video man, I was a die hard Samsung fan and now that I’ve been working for Apple for a few months now and I’ve realized just how true everything you said was. You pay more for better quality. I’m a technician and I’m literally trained to help fix your device for free so that you can keep it longer- I never tell anyone to just buy a new phone unless theirs is not reparable or it doesn’t make financial sense to do so.

- Was literally gluing together MacBook pros and modeling them as "unibody" despite being made of 2 pieces of metal. Btw the glue was behind the heatsink and fan so doing any CPU or GPU intensive task lead to the glue melting.
-Uses zinc screws instead of stainless steel screws on Mac Pro league vesa mount which has caused my friends issues.
It's proven that iPhone Sapphire glass isn't true Sapphire glass, it has a tiny negligible Sapphire layer with normal glass underneath, so it doesn't pass the scratch test (scratches at 6 on moh scale when Sapphire scratches at 8)

Proof most of the things this guy says are bs is my school uses 2013 iMacs. They're still really fast and work great on Catalina, we also use 2015 MacBook airs on big sur, they feel brand new still. Same with our 5th gen iPads
the reason why cars don’t last as long isn’t that they are using lower grade materials but because of the new technology on the car
I stopped at the 6S. The removal of the headphone jack and very high prices of the newer models costing almost the same as laptop really put me off. Don't see the huge lines and sold out signs outside the Apple stores when a new iphone comes out anymore. Mackbooks did the same by removing the USB port.... why... they were so good before.

Removal of the USB-A* port on the Macbooks have been great so far. I was on the fence at first but now I'm super happy with USB-C ports. Everything works with just one cable. USB-C is awesome! A lot of the peripherals also come with USB-C cables so there's really not a single problem. I get the whole 'headphone jack' bit about iPhones, although I don't care about it, but the whole 'USB-A was removed and they added USB-C', just doesn't make sense mate
oofpacito it depends what you need, a regular usb c to a adapter is $5. Honestly if you’re paying a few thousands for a MacBook you should be able to afford a $20-$90 adapter

I’m an engineer, work as a machinist in the heavy engineering industry. I wear my series 3 watch every day, owned it for about 8 months and not a scratch.. I work with all types of steels from alloys, mild steels, all through the 1040, 1045 range, high tensiles 4140, 4340, and not to mention cemented carbide inserts, endmills, drills, a lot do abit of mig, arc and tig welding... I’m pretty fucking impressed with it haha! Just saying. Mite be piss weak but for it to withstand my line of work, it’s fantastic in my opinion. 😁

My parents swear by apple. they have used apple all of their lives and i have grown up with all apple computers. My mother is the type of person who likes to buy something once and use it until the thing breaks. (apple computers are perfect for that. she has a 2010 macbook that she still uses). i in recent years have gone into the field of engineering and decided it would be best to buy a PC (desktop and laptop) and after finally learning all of windows and learning all of the ins and outs i find that i love it, however i still find it very refreshing to go back and use the macOS as it is without a doubt much more refined. Not only that the amount of time that the products of apple last is vastly greater than the life of my top of the line dell xps 15 which is already experiencing issues and i bought that thing back in 2016. now if you compare that to the life span of my mothers macbook that is just depressing as my mothers computer lasted 8 years while my laptop is starting to slow down after just 2...
The only reason it would get slower is if you had more tasks running in the background. I've been using the same laptop, an HP Envy 15, for 5 years and it still runs like it did when it was new.
Kim Jong Skill trust me I understand and have familiarized myself with windows over the past couple years and I definitely understand that tasks often run in the background. My point is that even after I clear all of those things, my mothers 8 year old mac seems to run better than my top of the line dell xps from 2016.

No offence, but you must've got a shitty PC, because my PC has never slowed down, and it still works great, even though I had it for years. Keep in mind that Windows often run on PC's not made by Microsoft, but by a third party company. Make sure you get one from a company that is reliable. You can also get hardware that was actually made by Microsoft themselves, like the Surface Pro.

This is what I call calm, rational roasting my fellas.
On Windows 10:
It's obnoxious/annoying that they don't have it all in the "normal" settings, but you can get the update behavior to be not-so-obnoxious using the GPE (Group Policy Editor). This comes with Win 10 Pro and up, on Win 10 Home you need to download & install it. In the GPE you can tell it to only notify you of updates but not download or install them, remove "Update and Shut Down," etc. etc.
The other is to align to an update rollout schedule. This is in the "normal" settings now but wasn't always. Basically this OS default is "Semi-Annual Targeted" which is when they normally release an update to the general public. However this is when updates are less mature so there's a risk of having some problem that they'll later patch. HOWEVER, if you change it to "Semi-Annual" (without "targeted"), this is the final stage after general release, where the update is approved for business deployment. Updates are much more reliable at this point. I've been on the latter schedule for a couple years now (actually with an additional 2-month delay on top of that), along with the GPE update tweaks, and my experience with Win 10 is pretty great. My current system has never crashed, no bullshit.

oh and apple doesn't use premium materials, they called iphone x glass as the toughest glass apple has ever incorporated, its true...now the glass breaks only when the phone is dropped from 1ft.

Tailosive Tech, I would like to correct you with the myth about windows computers not lasting for a long time.
1) I use my asus f8sa which was purchased in 2008 and I haven't encountered any slow down to this day
2)The only way how windows laptops can get slower is if a user installs harmful programs into it or runs a lot of applications/programs in the background(Which can be easily solved by just forcing some apps to open manually)
3) The only component that will slow down over years of usage is a storage device (hdd, ssd etc.) and it's not exclusive to windows computers.
Otherwise your videos are great and I understand that your just telling your side of things but when it comes to some facts then... Well you know the drill.
Mate I've done that and have used windows ever since Win 98. Windows slows done over the months. You have no idea how many times i've had to do a clean install on my computers. And everyone else that i know has the same issues. Windows just slows down due to some registry or whatever. The more you push your computer the faster it gets hogged down. Sure if you keep playing the same game for a year, not much will change, but if you're working or doing some sort of serious gaming, windows will just slow down. It's not a hardware issue it's software issue
My 5s had that problem with shutting down on 15% battery, and the "evil update that slowwed down your phone" was actually a valuable update. i never noticed it being "slower"
I actually keep an adapter in my bag for my note 9 to plug in an Ethernet, mouse, keyboard, HDMI or VGA for DEX (occasionally) all in the one adapter. So I don't think I'd mind the headphone jack dongle especially considering how much technology they can fit in that small space now days and the extra water/dustproofing and I like the push into wireless technology. I hardly use my phone's headphone jack because true wireless earbuds are so good now. Computers need to keep the jack though
Let me clear this up YOU DONT NEED UPDATES ON ANDROID, 90% of apps on android can run on 4.4 kitkat try that on ios 6... or even 9... ps companies dont push updates so that the phones run on there original firmware so they can run faster...
