1. Do you know the factory cost to build a SINGLE IPhone X is around 500/650 USD? That gives them a what, 350 to 500 dollar profit? That’s VERY low compared to other high end tech.

Hate because there are things to hate. The iPhone 5 used to be my Dream phone. But seeing how android progressed has changed mind. Apple is too closed in nature. All people are different, why must we all be forced to use the exact same home screen? If it our phone we should be able to change almost everything about it. Default browser, payment app, email app, phone app. Apple music is disgusting since it can only be used on Apple devices, Making it pointless to buy songs if U are not in the apple ecosystem.

jacky yo what I wanted to say, is that Apple does things differently with its extreme focus, not providing options and only selling (what they think) is the best, not like Samsung (just the tech sector) who sell a million different phone models at the same time with tons of options, like every other tech company. Just different strategies, but if you look at the numbers it seems to work out for both of them. Choose the one that works best for you but please don’t hate on the other.

Mighty Vanquish those other companies who have removed the notch only did it by using a motorized pop up camera. That just adds another area of the phone that could fail.

With touch-ID, every time my fingers were a little sweaty it just wouldn't work. Face-ID, even if im sweating or wearing glasses it works. I 100% prefer Face-ID
Still prefer Touch ID since i use it alot when its very dark and Face ID simply doesnt work then.

Also the 8 Plus has such a statisfying home button click, sadly its the last iPhone with that design so i will probably hold 5 years before im upgrading.
I have a Iphone X, and I can with confidence tell you that i liked Touch ID better, overall the Face ID works great, amazingly great actually, UNTIL you lay down in your bed sideways and try to unlock your device using Face ID, it just don't work, and please don't tell me it works for you or that you don't use your phone at nights, that would be a understatement of the real truth, im a die hard Apple fanboy but Face ID has it perks, just agree with that. Big flaw of apple to not include several biometrics together with the Iphone X, one of them Touch ID on the back. /Apple fanboy

Apple haven't really changed that much to be honest. Most of the things people complain about in regards to modern Apple like products being really overly minimalistic, not upgradeable, not self-repairable and having planned obsolescence have been around for the longest time.

To add a FaceID vs TouchID argument: Are you seriously comparing a 1st generation technology with a 2nd generation technology? FaceID will improve its speed, and y'all will stop complaining.
Lucas Not to mention Touch ID is a Gen 2 tech that’s really more like Gen 4 since it’s been out since 5S and software updates have updated it to work faster and better. Face ID will be Gold Standard in a couple years and I can’t wait. Great comment.
Sure but right now you buy a first gen feature with the iPhone x. Whether it's the future or not doesn't make a difference for the iPhone x right now. If you buy it you spend money on something that's still expensive to make and at the same time not as good as the previous method.
I'm fine with that but right now you have to compare a first gen expensive unlocking method with a perfected unlocking method because right now this is the choice you have...
The FaceID has to start off where touch ID did as well. Back then, it was a slow first gen sensor on a flag ship phone. There was the outrage about it being the worst thing ever, but then look now. Its a standard :)
Paul Ting Okay but they didn't take the option at that time. The option was a code. You were not forced to unlock with touch id. Apple took it this time.
I still hope they figure out how to embed the fingerprint reader under the display. Althouh I probably wouldn't buy the first generation... I'm not against face id, I just think it still has too many flaws for me to fully replace a working method. whishful thinking: in the future you'll have both options 😁
The only way they were possibly going to be able to make faceID a worldwide standard is if they leave everything else behind. They did it with the floppy disk drive, the CD drive, USB- A. the headphone jack and now the fingerprint sensor. Their history has been full of removing old technology, but you see, if no one does it, society would all be stagnated and not move forward. They don't just remove it, but they remove it because an alternative can improve to pass the experience of that item.

Abood Abood On a small, low quality screen, like Apple used to use before the iPhone X, you couldn’t really tell the difference. But on a quality OLED screen, like the X or Galaxy/Note devices, the difference between 720/1080/1440 is staggering. Samsung devices let you select the resolution, and you definitely can tell the difference between 720 and 1080.

go to an Apple store hold an iPhone 8 next to an iPhone X you wouldn’t find a difference in the resolution it’s only a color difference and it’s pretty minor
@@foop8964 I've seen the phones next to each other, and there is a huge difference. Not only is the X screen higher quality with better blacks and colors, but everything is far sharper because of the massive increase in pixel count. Look at them again and pay attention to the clarity of text on both displays. iPhone 8 and earlier phones use horribly dated screen technology that almost everyone in the industry moved away from almost 5 years ago. For the most part, the only other place you'll find LCD displays is on budget phones below $400. The only midrange that I can think of other than iPhone 8 that I can think of with an LCD is the BlackBerry Keytwo. It is kind of ridiculous that the iPhone X only uses a 1080p screen, and it is beyond laughable that they are still selling a high-end phone with a 720p LCD.

I can't agree with most of your thoughts. I'm an apple fan boy but apple has seriously declined lately. Also $1000? Really? The iPhone x is so not worth that. It's nice but not $1000 nice. I went back to my iPhone 8. Hopefully next year's iteration will be better.

I was android user for as long as I owned a phone and I’m glad I gave Apple a chance. I love Apple for the same reason Tailosive does. I have no complaints. I love that iPhone always take care of the issues with updates. With android I had to replace it with every time it had a software issue and pay $350 to get it fixed.

JPLPlays4126 Stock Android is reliable tho, its as fast as ios, Samsung software is slow after a year, but on stock android you have to go out of your way to get features, which I dont mind. If you only use your phone for a year then I agree with you that Samsung is the better choice

The notch on my XS is pretty unobtrusive, having Face ID even during the pandemic wearing masks before iOS 14.5 is out is still handy enough. The notch is basically unnoticeable in everyday use, it just blends in. Even when I look at it, it hardly seems to stick out, like, maybe some more icons on the top would be nice, but really, what else could go there??

Thank you evaluating the topic in a calm and reasonable manner. So many youtubers get so mad that they are basically screaming out the cons and forgetting about the pros. It's like they are venting their anger toward apple on their viewers. For apple haters, it not easy for even the best designers. There are limits to how much stuff you can squeeze in a tiny space. Besides, this is first-generation Face ID. It will continue to improve over time, just like Touch ID. Touch ID was nowhere as good when it first came out. If you didn't know, there patents restrictions that limit what Apple can do with designs. BTW there are android phone manufacturers copying the notch.

Milan Meiland I'm annoyed by pure haters too. And I'm always interested in what Drew has to say. He brings up some good points that made me understand why some people buy apple products. But his arguments are 50:50 great/interesting:irrelevant/hypocritical for me.
For example: why bring up numbers of sold iPhones? That's not an argument for how good they are. It's an argument for how successful apple's strategy is. Or do you also think the fact that windows has about 93% market share means windows is a way better OS than MacOS?
Laura98423 he brings out the amount sold because it shows that people are enjoying their devices, people wouldn’t buy crappy phones, and wouldn’t upgrade if their past iPhone purchase was trashy.
And your argument about windows market share, well that’s totally different, windows is cheap, used in hundreds of products and by hundreds of different companies, while only Apple uses Mac OS, you can use that argument just like the android to iOS market share, but not to amount of sales.
Ghaith Chargui the reason is different, yes but it's the same situation. Just because something sells well doesn't mean it's good. There are several other reasons why people buy an iphone. Apple is really really good in marketing. And they built a wall around their ecosystem. Once you're in it's not as easy to change as on Android. And I've mentioned this somewhere in the comments and this is why I don't like apple. It's what they do with people's minds. I work at a school and all the 10 year olds want iPhones. When you ask why they tell you because they are cool or because everyone in their class has one. They sometimes really feel bad about this. And it's not just the children. Most people don't really think about why they buy that phone. They see price they assume it's the best and buy it. 80% (at least) don't take their time to look for the best option.

I'm biased against IOS I used to love apple and looked up to a lot of apple users but yall lost a lot of traction these past few years.
I grew up with Android cuz they were cheaper and I was a broke boii but i like android now (well samsung very specifically)

@@davidkonevky7372 I get kinda tilted when I see people buying a mac because 9/10 there is no reason to do so, you can get a better pc for a lot less, even tho a lot of people told me that iOS is really good for working, and if it's true, then it makes sense, but it is still overpriced, wich is what apple has a problem with, they tend to sell their products with stuff you don't need (a lot of high end smartphones do that actually, but other companies give you the ability to buy more mid range smartphones that do not have those things), an easy example can be the camera, I'm more than sure that you don't need a really high resolution camera (I'm speaking about over 1080p, a decent camera is something I want to have, but a 4k camera is just overkill) and if they need one, they already have it.
Basically I get tilted because I can't understand why someone buys stuff

There is no best phone simple as most flagship phones have an advantage over the next so all you can do is see what you value higher. What annoys me every now and then is Apple (and Android fans) saying such and such is the best and it's a fact, also when these people say iPhone out sells everything then can't produce worldwide figures and just state US sales. My friends in the US always told me 70% of the country doesn't care or know much about the rest of the world and it does show sometimes.
I know why people like and use Apple products and they are very good products that doesn't make them the best. The most common reason I have heard people choosing iPhone or iPad over android equivalents is easy of use or friends and family have them.

As someone that supports Apple, Android and Windows I feel like Apples products feel more and more like Beta products look at the iPhone X (sales are much less then they were hoping to the point that Samsung has a glut of the displays that were made for the iPhone X) and the Homepod anyone that says the Homepod is a polished and fished product are only fooling themselves probably because the need to justify what they have purchased. This is holding true for almost everything Apple does these days. I used to look at Apple products as being solid, finished polished and over all great products now much of what they release is more beta then finished. If they keep going this way people will start to move away from Apple. And did you really say your holding it wrong? Really that is your defense for the notch being in the way of the scroll bars?!! I have always been an Android guy and hated Apple but for christmas I got an IPhone 7 and after I tried the IPhone 7 I really started to like Apple more and now I got a whole new viewe of Apple.

a win for Windows PC is that you just can't upgrade a Macbook or iMac or at least not very easily here's the step to upgrading a Macbook or iMac versus Windows PCs:
Windows PC:
1. do some quick research
2. open panel to part you want to upgrade(CPUs and motherboard are hard to upgrade but still not TOO hard)
3. remove old hardware
4. insert new compatible hardware
done
Mac:
1. try to find a guide for your system
2. remove practically the entire system
3. insert new hardware
4. put system back together hopefully without breaking anything
done after a very tedious guide
edit: ok YES I am biased against Apple and I will try to convince you to understand WHY Apple is bad but if I have the option I'll get an iPhone, iMac, or Macbook if I can get it very cheap then install windows so it can dual-boot I have little experience with Mac OS but it's worth a try either way besides at least Mac OS is unix-based like Linux allowing me to execute .sh files and keep in mind Android is in its essence Linux so Mac OS and Android are infact related

Agreed, I have a Note 9 and although I LOVE the hardware and customization, and the nice curved infinity display. But the software is shit, lags every now and then, apps crashing, and freezes pretty often when playing games. Plus security is really whitty honestly. Probably gonna switch back next year.

AGENT Gaming but i’m saying i have used android, and watched it develop into android pie. using the pixel 2 (which i just switched from in december) was painful. and i’m not an apple sheep, i think apple makes stupid decisions all the time. (glossy white airpods, thermal design of macbooks, little things in ios that piss me off) but they are better than android devices. i have owned windows and mac laptops, android wear (laughable) and apple watch, and android and ios and i stand by apple as the best designed, most well thought out, and best user experience. android users can make a case for customization, but beyond that, not much else. apple is way ahead of every other company, and there’s a reason

I am a new viewer. I haven't purchased an Apple product since the 5s. I love your content because you are a very rationally thinking person. I personally look at Apple & Samsung the same way I would look at Chevy & Ford. Both have made models that are better than the other at some point in time. Both have a culture following because of certain models that last longer than others. Both of them to this day are putting out fantastic vehicles. Same with Samsung & Apple.
Well you make valid point about one being better then the last. However, in current trends Samsung and Huawei are selling more then Apple. Also they are putting better features while Apple waits to see what catches on then copies their competition.
But Apple never invented these features, they refine and make it better.
