I love the paint scheme it almost looks the Kansas City southern paint scheme now with the merger with CP rail its more common to see paint schemes like this time to see the box cars be put to good use in a op sesion

It just happened to be going through White Rose Hobbies website... and saw a Quebec New England railroad box car. So I went back to your RUclips channel and the very first video I chose was about the box cars being for sale. Although it doesn't really go with what I'm modeling witches Chicago Northwestern, Milwaukee Road and Union Pacific, I guess whatever you would see running through Northern Illinois. But anyway I really like your train layout and I love the colors of the Quebec and New England Railroad anyway in a nutshell I went back and ordered it and it was the last one they had. cannot wait to get it😊

We use anti-grafitti paint on our equipment. Nothing sticks to it. LOL.

Yes, I was thinking a few simpler "dip job" or "patched out" cars like gondolas, covered hoppers, flat cars and "rail box" type single door box cars from the per diem era.@@QNERailroad

Rapido did a nice job with your branding. I will have to get at least one to add to my roster. I don't think Rapido could do my free lance road because all of the locos and rolling stock are patch outs and no two look the same.

It’s a real shame Home Shops are scalelist and don’t consider us N scale modellers. Would love a couple of QNE cars and others they do. They don’t even reply to my emails 😔 . Sorry for the moan. Love the layout and your videos

Thanks for your comment. Making custom paint scheme production runs is a complex business with several constraints, including the scale that the home road layout owners model in, the availability and timing of manufacturers production runs and the likelihood of meeting minimum production/sales quantities. Remember, Home Shops is piggybacking their custom paint schemes on top of already planned production runs.

The boxcars look great Sheldon and it was a nice inaugural run on your layout. Did you have to retire 4 cars due to fleet constraints?

Thanks Bill. It's getting tight. With these four cars, plus other recent acquisitions the active freight car fleet now stands at 399. I'm going to have to seriously start thinking about expanding the layout just to get more live staging. I did retire an old Roundhouse double door BCIT lumber car but that was because I also picked up a couple of more accurate plug/sliding door BCOL/BCIT cars from NARC. I think I can count on one hand the number of older box cars left on the layout with molded on grabirons. They too will be replaced. I have more on order ...
