George’s HO Scale Layout

- Running some trains on my friend George’s large HO Scale layout.
This is a DC only layout with block controls. A real joy to operate and a rarity to see a classic layout like this still around and in working condition. I’ve uploaded several videos of this great layout throughout the years on RUclips.
AMAZING layout - what an achievement!! I still run DC with 12 blocks - good to see another old-school railguy going strong!!
So many classic models, both the trains and the buildings and vehicles, and straight classic DC with the old toggle switches gauges, and dials.
nice, but some real discussion with george would have been nice !!! this is especially true for our younger modelers.... getting a chance to just listen to someone like george would be great for them... and us, too !!
I actually was considering doing an interview with him for my next video of his layout. We are friends and only live a few miles apart so I’ll definitely be back and do just that next time I visit

I love this layout if i had a room big enough id love to build something like this and in dc also .. thats all i am doing at present with my layout..

How model railroading was for many years…as an old school DC modeler myself it’s good to see what can be done without all the bells and whistles.
Absolutely. I really love my DCC/Sound layout but it’s sometimes nice to operate on a plain DC layout without sound. I keep a few locomotives around as DC only for just this purpose
Such a nice smooth running layout. You can sure tell that George has a lot of pride in his work.
to have a room of that size. i love big motive power.
but my area says maybe a X-8-X, a six axle diesel looks wrong on my curves. mail line has to be under 30 inches on most curves. no long “straight” , curvey runs at all.
but as i am starting from scratch. it is being built as a dcc layout.
but what this guy has is great. looks like he has lots of fun with it.

loved the little hump line he had set up at the end.
The scenes and the runs on this layout are really nice. A lot of heart and meticulous work went into this. Looks like a lot of fun to run. Thanks.

Really a very nice layout exactly as all model railways should be, without excessive sophistication or useless digital gimmick. One can really feel the passion of its builder, many thanks for showing this great work. It must be a lot of fun to operate too...
Some people really enjoy the "sophistication". Each to their own, right?
