Thank you so much for making this video. Clifford is my grandfather but i sadly never got to meet him. I have dreams of becomming a singer like him one day. Thank you for alle the sweet commemts. I will send this video to my Nan. "Pat" who i am sure will Like it
Awww that's so lovely 🥰 I'm so happy to be able to keep his memory alive for yourself, family and everyone to appreciate, as he was an amazing talent and so deserving 💯❤️ Good luck with your musical ventures and thank you so much for sharing your lovely comment and for watching Tom 🤗
I find it difficult to understand how the songs and poetry of Clifford T. Ward have not reached out further in this World. Clifford’s song “A Day To Myself” needs to be played on Remembrance Day as it is a moving tribute to those who gave their lives so we have our todays. So many good songs in the CTW catalogue. The only CTW covers I have heard are Justin Hayward’s “The Best Is Yet To Come” and Cliff Richard’s “Up In The World”. It’s a shame that Clifford’s work is overlooked, but he left us the gift of his music. RIP Clifford T. Ward.
I was playing in a blues rock band when I first heard CTW, but bought his Home Thoughts album on the strength of his song writing. Couldn't help but admire his beautifully constructed songs and - perhaps because I was playing so much American music - found his wonderfully English style very refreshing.
Clifford seems like he was such a nice guy, I’ll have to try out his music. I feel badly he had to live with such a horrible disease like MS , I am glad he stood up for people with disabilities , he tried to make the world a better place it sounds like for his disabled daughter, bless her heart. This was a wonderful tribute my friend, always so respectful and tastefully done! Take care!
Thank you very much Shilo 🤗 Yes he was so talented and a good man too, it's so sad to know he suffered so much in the end 😓💔 So happy you enjoyed it ❤🌹
Fantastic series. Shame is that I have never heard of Clifford Ward, though I appreciate a lot of the other people mentioned. I would also think that I would know some of his music though. I will make a point of finding out more.
You spoil me i loved his music i had a couple of his albums. Something different. So sad to be struck with such a terrible disease and he was a clean living man. He stood up for disabled rights which is always good as i work with people with learning disabilities. Thank you again for what you do ❤❤
So happy you enjoyed it 🥰 How rewarding to work with disabled people, that's awesome Jayne! 🙏💖 Yes he lived a very normal life, it's heartbreaking what he had to endure in the end 💔😥
Love Clifford's songs and writings, the sounds this guy made on tracks and his fabulous songs are so good to listen to today. "Scullery" is a great song, wonderful words and super melody. Nobody seems to have beaten his skill in the studio, with this type of music. Trust his family all well. RIP Clifford.
Thank you so much for uploading the excellent video. Clifford T. Ward has always been one of my songwriting heroes. Sadly, like Nick Drake, as you mentioned, he hated touring and self promotion. However, I am not an expert that have not researched him greatly like your good self. I was born in 1959 and started writing songs when I was about 16. Clifford T. Ward, Cat Stevens, Duncan Brown, Gordon Light food, were all my heroes. I discovered Nick Drake much later. Clifford's voice was beautiful. Although not the same as Justin Hayward, they both shared that rare heartfelt delivery. I read about his MS and the fact that he had to crawl into his home studio. He must have been a really tough mentally. His story shows the tragedy of the music business and how tough it is to make it if you don't keep pushing. His songs "Gaye", "Where did we go wrong" and "Scullery" are classical. I heard Justin Hayward cover "Where did we go wrong on the Jimmy Tarbuck show many years ago. Stupidly, Tarbuck introduced it as Justin's new song! Justin is a good man and would have throttled Tarby later! Thank you once again for explaining to the general YT pubic about what a great talent CTW was. I hope the younger generation pick up your video. In closing, several years ago I uploaded a cover version of "Scullery". I would love your feedback, if you have a few minutes. One CTW fan was generous and said that the man himself would be please with my version - ruclips.net/video/PDXTv47SFDE/видео.htmlsi=vkeiYw6MR7Uqj-gQ
I have subscribed to your channel by the way. Good luck with your future videos. If this is an example of what you will produce I am eager to view more! Duncan Brown would have an interesting story. Nick Drake has been covered many times and the new biography by Richard Morton Jack is the definitive work on Nick.
Thank you so very much for your kind words it's very much appreciated 🥰 Your cover of Scullery is absolutely beautiful, thank you so much for sharing, you are very talented ❤
@@HarmonyHeartsLifestyle-ul5yv It is wonderful to get validation of my musical skills in this way. When a fan of a great artist tells me that my version of their song is really good it makes my day. However, when the phrase used is absolutely beautiful it makes my year! Thank YOU so much.
The first i heard of him was i think around 1974 with Gaye. And oh my goodness what a beautiful song , it still does something to me when i hear it ..i think he had already wrote Gaye before he met the girl in France .. .❤
I forgot to mention in my earlier comment that I have subscribed to your channel so good luck with your future videos. If this is an example of what you will produce I am eager to view more! That is a rather silly comment, he wrote some absolutely beautiful songs, so sad to be struck down with a most horrible illness, rest in peace Clifford.

A much underrated singer who produced some great music. Still got some of his albums. May he rest in peace.
My wife has MS, I liked Clifford s music and always listen to his music. Thank you for your music.
I hope and pray a cure is found for MS very soon for your lovely wife 💗🙏

Another great one ❤ beautiful voice
Thanks evil eyes 🤗🌷💕
Wonderful music. Sad story.

He lived two doors away from me.
Oh wow how cool! 😁👍
Thank you our high school in the eastern suburbs of Sydney loved gaye we had a concert that was the top song thank you mate Shane in Sydney 🦘 🇦🇺
That's awesome Shane, great memories 🥰👍 Thanks for watching mate 😁❤️
He was an intensely sensitive artist. Similar to Nick Drake, but at least he managed a few TV appearances and some decent, sizeable hits.
I agree 💯❤
This guy was a genius.

He SHOULD have been as massive as Gilbert OSullivan and Elton John!
"Not relating to students." Smart guy. Exactly why I never became a teacher
I always give encouragement to beginners and am greatly appreciative when better players do the same ... Music is a gift best shared ...
My apologies I missed the mention of Wherewithal. Silly me.
Another great video do one on cissy Houston
I reckon you’ll do awesome job
It’ll be an awesome story
Thank you! ❤ OMG I had no idea Cissy died, she can be with Whitney now 👩❤👩🙏
Cissy has a very good autobiography Book available
A name I know but never heard him. There are others. Loss or not. Nobody knows.
An unknown
His songs were quite contrived and corny. He never really had it.
That is a rather silly comment, he wrote some absolutely beautiful songs, so sad to be struck down with a most horrible illness, rest in peace Clifford.
