I really like how Danny DeVito is acting very bird like when playing the Penguin. All the twitches and sudden turns when looking in a different direction make the character more bird like, especially when it's an unfriendly bird that doesn't like to be touched.

This was during the time when comic book movies were still a high risk gamble in the box office. They killed a lot of villains off back then simply because they never knew if there would be a sequel or not. So making complete packaged movies was the best bet.
Devitos best role by a mile, he was simply terrific in this and should've been nominated. He really made the penguin sinister and memorable. It's getting more and more apparent you just can't make edgy films like this anymore. Thankfully we have a very generous backlog from the 90s where creativity and great writing was really churning out some winners.
